Best "grocery stop" store??

Hi

We've got a pickup arranged from MCO to DTD area and apparently we're going to a Publix for our "grocery stop"
Just wondering if this is the best place to stop, price wise and selection wise?

We plan on getting:
small bottles of water (Trays if possible)
Soft drinks
Beer
Snacks
Fruit
Meds (pain killers etc)

Are Publix decent prices? I've seen their weekly ad PDF on their website and the offers they usually have are good. But I'm just wondering, should I be requesting a different chain to visit to get better value for my money?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

You'll find all those things at the Publix and the prices are competitive.

Back when I was a CM we found Publix to be the best of any other grocery store around there. Great prices and the nicest, most helpful workers anywhere. :thumbsup2

I thought everyone took the ME from the airport. What are the benefits to reserving a car?

You shouldn't have to look further. Publix normally has great deals on fairly everything. Make sure to look out for buy 1 get 1's! Publix tends to have a nice amount of those.

It sounds like the OP is using a car service, not renting a car for the duration of the trip. She mentions going to the DTD area, so maybe she is not staying at a Disney resort. If that is the case ME is not an option.

We always rent a car for the convenience. We dont want to wait for the bus and then have to go to other resorts before being dropped off. We like to be able to go off property for groceries and meals or maybe play mini golf. We also use the car to go to other resorts for dining or checking out decorations during the holidays. It really depends on your vacation.

Stay away from Goodings, just outside the gates by Downtown Disney on SR 535 ..complete rip-off.

We usually go wto Winn Dixie which is about 5 mins north of DTD or to Target on Irlo Bronson 192 which is towards the AKL area. Target has everything you will need. (obviously, this is if you are going to have a rental.)

When I have used a car service in the past, they have always stopped at Publix. It is a large grocery store and had everything we needed.

When I rent a car, I usually stop at Target just because it is a convenient stop off the highway and it has several restaurants in the area. We usually do lunch before we do the grocery shopping. I also like Target's selection of beer. :)

As a prior posted indicated, stay away from Goodings - the prices are sky high!!

Thanks people!

I'll stay away from Goodings. Hopefully we won't have too many visits to a grocery store during our trip. Going to try and get everything we need in the Publix as we're coming from the airport.
