Best first timer dvc resort to buy into for 100 points

You'll do okay with any larger reseller including the sponsor dvcstore.com - I've used them all. Call to make your offer so you don't waste time on a contract that is already under agreement but hasn't updated (it happens all the time).

The only time I didn't do that was around 4 am one morning early last year (DH was out snowblowing) when I happened across an incredible deal and bid up by .50 per point via email. They got a ton of offers but mine was the highest and I won the bid. I flipped it after closing for 30% net profit. Good luck!

THIS! If you buy DVC and you aren’t a planner it is going to end in nothing but disappointment. Example: I own at BRV. I have been successful in getting VGC at 7 months twice (well waitlisted once that came through at 4 months). Anyways, I got cocky and believed I would be successful a third time - nope! Now Corona Palooza would have blown it up anyways but the point is I didn’t get it, and as a result it was too late to find anything in Florida.

Also, as I’ve stated in similar threads / questions — my research showed that owning at SSR or AKV is not the best choice as these resorts are so huge that they are the easiest ones to book at the 7 month mark.

Also, when you do adopt you will likely not find Food & Wine as appealing (I know all the drunks turned me off with my then 9 year old).
Like others said, if you do buy, buy more points than you think you’ll need. I thought I would buy 160, but opted into a good contract of 210. As a result I can swap from a studio to a 1BR every other trip.

Anyways, good luck!
F&W is not that bad during the week. It is on the weekends that it becomes a Sh*t Show.......

Hey all:) hope everyone is healthy and safe during this crazy time! Alas, I was wondering if anyone would have any recommendations for a first time dvc resale purchase. I was advised to buy a smaller contract first and then to add on if I wanted to. I am aware of the difficulties of getting reservations at 7 months outside of your home resort and am knowledgeable of the different resorts and their prices. I just need some guidance of where owners would recommend buying into to start off? Thanks in advance!:)
Where do you like to stay? & are you ok if you can only stay at SSR?
That's my preference. I'm happy to stay anywhere on property, and SSR gave us lowest overall cost for a 2054 resort, and we've gotten seeral other resorts at the 7 month mark.
We love Disney Springs, so it has not disappointed us at all. i would recommend buying RESALE first and, when add-on-itis hits, buy the 100 Direct to match that use year. YMMV
