Best dish you've ever had at a WDW restaurant...

The Filet at Shula's is one of the best meals I've ever had. But I guess that's no surprise.

The sirloin at Shula's w/ the chocolate souffle for dessert........I dream about it....

Shrimp & lobster risotto at Flying Fish...Of course this wasn't and never was (to my knowledge) on the actual menu, but our friends behind the grill tried this particular recipe one night and wanted my wife and I to give it a taste (on the house, of course)...It was stupendous! Not long after this Chef John took over at California Grill so perhaps this is where we'll see it finally on the menu!

I have 2 favorite meals... First was a vanilla-infused lobster at Citrico's... absolutely unbelieveable... Second was Oak-Grilled Wahoo (Medium-rare) over Rock Shrimp and Wild Mushroom Risotto that was just absolutely to die for at the Flying Fish Cafe... Those are my absolute 2 favorites.

Right now it's a tie between the Berbere Braised Lamb Shank at Jiko's and the Honey/paprika marinated Pork tenderloin at Citricos.
There are just too many "honorable mentions" to list-

My favorite meal is the Filet Mignon and Double Lobster Tails at Fultons! Ever since this particular meal at Fulton's last Aug, DH and I cannot eat seafood at places such as Red Lobster. The quality of food just does not add up!!! I can't wait to indulge again in August, I can just taste the lobster melting in my mouth :p

Simple, humble... Plantain soup at Boma!

Oh I have searched in vain for that Nigerian recipe... :(

Only tried it once, but the cedar-plank salmon at AP was
the best meal I've ever had
Also, I really enjoy the maple-glazed salmon at LeCellier (more
affordable than AP).

My husband, son (28 years old, who knows good food!!!!), and I just spent 10 wonderful days of eating and having fun at WDW. My son is an Officer on a submarine with the US Navy and just returned from a six month deployment in the Mediterranean. While in port they ate in many fine restaurants so he has had alot of dining experiences. I would have to say that we all had our favorite dinner at Citricoes. My husband had the Paprika, Honey Marinated Pork Tenderloin, I had the Braised Veal Shank and my son had the Duck. Of course, I tasted everyones dinner and all were the best meals of the trip. My son agreed that Citricoes was by far the best dinner of the trip. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were special. We also ate at Shula's, Flying Fish, Artist Pointe, Portabello's, and Palios. Also Shula's was wonderful but is hard to compare a great steak dinner with the more creative offerings of the other restaurants that we tried on this trip!!!!!!!! The Steaks at Shula's are by far the best we have had anywhere!!!!!!

Kimonos in the Dolphin Hotel has superb sushi. We went there for an early 'dinner'. I say 'dinner' because Kimonos is more of a sushi bar / karaoke bar than a traditional restaurant.

I went with the salmon sushi (sushi is served on a rice ball, sashimi is just the fish), yellow tail sushi, tuna sushi, another fish I've since forgotten, spider roll, salmon roll and tuna roll. All of it absolutely fantastic - the salmon was amazing, it almost had a creamy taste to it. My choices probably ran close to $40 but it was well worth it. My wife (girlfriend at the time) got a ginger salad which she really enjoyed as well.

If you love sushi, I recommend Kimonos over the restaurant in the Japanese pavillion (which wasn't bad at all but still not nearly as good). It's not cheap, though, and it's not really for kids. We now make a point of getting there on each visit.

Breakfast: Spoodles (BW) buffet.

Lunch: 50's Prime Time Cafe (MGM), I like the meatloaf or chicken, DW likes the BBQ chicken sandwich, but the key to the meal is fries with gravy!

Dinner: Roasted Lamb at the Marrakesh (Norway).

Best Desert: Tie between the maple chocolate Beaver Tails (Canadian) and the milk shakes at the Scif Fi (MGM).

MVP Award: Cheese Soup in Canada on a cold day.

The beef tenderloin with mac & cheese at Jiko's. There are no words for how good this was. I can't believe it'll be 2004 before I get to have it again. :(

I have had TONS of great meals. I love love love the last meal that we had at Ohauna. It never really changes but it was just , well, it was the best meal i ate all year. I also love the pizza at Wolfgangs (i know, not Disney owned but on the property) and love the pizza at Boardwalk. It just kind of holds memories of Disney even when it's a simple pizza with cheese and tomatos. I even took a picture of it on one trip. OH, another great meal was a very simple breakfest of the best grits ever at Kona Cafe. If you like grits, i strongly suggest them.:smooth:

Just for fun, worst meal....Norway buffet. Yuck, everything had that "weird" taste to it.

Pat_Elliott,
Dinner: Roasted Lamb at the Marrakesh (Norway).
I'm thinking you meant to type (Morocco), but maybe there's lamb at Akershus as well?? :p

mcsstokes:

You reminded me that I had some amazing sushi at Wolfgang Pucks in December. I believe it was tuna on the inside with a sampling of three different types of fish on the outside, one of them being seared tuna. All had a miso glaze. OMGoodness it was heaven.

DH and I will be at Disney 2/14-2/19. All your reviews are making my mouth water. I think we are going to Jiko on the 16th...can't wait!!! Will review when we get back, of course.

Counter service - I used to love the chicken sate at the Chicken Hut in AK...now discontinued. Also. the roasted vegetable sandwich at Tusker House in AK (looks like it is back on the menu in time for our trip, woohooo!!!), fish n' chips in the UK, and the sampler platters at the counter service place in Morocco (Epcot)

Table service - hands down - tamarind-rubbed beef filet at CG is AMAZING. I dream about it...in fact, I met a CM once who had that served at her wedding reception at one of the Disney resorts!!

7 days and counting, and I am READY to pig out!!!

I am really looking forward to 2 meals when we go back:
The barbeque chicken quesidilla I tried in Dec at Wolfgang Puck Express.
The bruschetta at Tony's. The tomato/onion/garlic/basil mixture came in an oversized martini glass(tomatoes were halved grape tomatoes). The ONLY problem was they gave you one tiny piece of toast to go with it. Next time I'll ask for more, but even so it was so good, I ate the leftover with a fork. Fabulous!

MK: Herb-Crusted Salmon at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Epcot: Any kind of sushi at Tempura Kiku.

AK: Blue Mountain Chicken sandwich at Rainforest Cafe.

MGM: Never dined at any nice sit-down restaurants here.

Also, you can't beat the banana-stuffed french toast at Kona Cafe at the Poly Resort. Pefect way to start the day!

It's hard to choose....but for me the winner is:

Grilled pork tenderloin with creamy polenta, cremini mushrooms and zinfandel glaze from the California Grill. Yummy.

Favorite dessert is Grapefruit Cake at Brown Derby.

And Erikarate, I have to give a mention to the vanilla donut rings at Boardwalk Bakery! What IS it about them? I have tried the chocolate version and they are nowhere near as good!

Debbie
