Best dinner buffet?

Another vote for Boma for dinner. We love that place and actually took a picky eater there once... though I was apprehensive about that because Boma has so different many things to try, the picky eater in our group, who is an adult, was very happy with the kids options. We even got her to try a couple of things out of her comfort zone! She is not very adventurous to say the least, but I can now proudly say that Boma is the reason she now likes plantains! That's about the only out-there thing she liked though! lol She just mainly stuck with the kid-friendly options, which was fine by us. :)

They have wonderful food!

Biergarten, Crystal Palace, and 1900 Park Fare dinner have been my favorite buffets. My kids have really branched out trying different things at buffets, knowing that if they don’t like it they can fall back on kid friendly foods.

We loved the dinner at 1900 Park Fare! The step mother and step sisters were hysterical! Food was very good and both my kids, even our super picky son, found plenty to eat! Enjoy your trip!

We are doing this on our trip based on all the rave reviews on this board! I've heard the step sisters are fantastic, and I think your daughter would appreciate face characters at her age.

I would have to say out of the ones we have tried Trail Ends and Boma (Dinner) are the 2 that stood out to us enjoyed both, Next year doing Hoop-De-Doo so wont be going to Trail Ends as same food.

1900 Park Fare was surprisingly a great meal. Character interaction was awesome---but we were surprised how great of a meal that we had. Lots of variety for the kids and even more for the adults. We are going back there again this summer for one of our dining plan dinners.

Agree. For many many families it is not a good value.
For our family of five, we’ve always saved around $100-200 per day by using the dining plan. You just have to do the math based on where/what your family likes to eat (and drink).

My favorite buffets are 1900 Park Fare and hollywood & vine.

Although not buffets, you may also consider Artist Point and Akershus, which are character prix fixe meals with nice food (picky eaters can order larger versions of the kids menu) and a good value on the dining plan.

That’s my point. We rarely spend more than $200/day and that’s only if we eat a signature dinner. Lunch is usually under $60. If you don’t want to do character or price fix meals (and we don’t), it’s really hard to come out ahead on the meal plan.

Okay, but since OP is interested in buffets which are a really good value on the plan, I wanted to provide a counterexample since so many people were saying you don’t save money.

We have done most of the buffets, its the easiest way to keep our fussy lot fed & happy.
The only 1 we have not done is the Akershus at the Germany Pavillion Epcot.
Our Favourite Breakfast Buffet is Boma.
Our Favourite Character Buffet is Crystal Palace at MK, with 1900 Park Fair at GF a close second. ( the kids love both equally)
Our over all No 1 favourite Dinner buffet that every one in our family agrees is the best for us with our share of picky eaters is Trails End at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. The Fried Chicken is awesome & the variety is great.
An honourable shout out to Tusker House at AK for an early Lunch. 👍 :)

Akershus is in Norway, Biergarten is the one in Germany.

Boma is iffy for a picky eater....lots of African influenced foods with a variety of spices and salads have unusual combinations . Great place just not a good choice for a picky eater other than breakfast

I really do get that. I’m an over planner. I keep a spreadsheet with all our meal plans on it and approximately how much I expect us to spend per person. And I’m usually pretty spot on. And I know we can eat for a lot less than with the dining plan, but we normally have a family of 5 and I can’t justify paying adult meal prices on my two oldest kids, but since this trip is just the three of us, we want to take the opportunity to splurge since DH and I are foodies and we like the idea of being able to order appetizers, desserts, and drinks which I normally won’t spend money on when paying OOP. I also don’t always choose what we’d really like to get because it’s the most expensive thing on the menu. So I like the idea of that not being a consideration. And my picky eater, will eat steak just about any day of the week, so it makes some sense in this scenario since it’s a trip for her, so we will be going to restaurants she would choose and the meals she would want to eat.
