I am trying to plan a trip to Disney world in December and I was wondering what is the best way to find the best deals. Do you go through a travel agent, Disney, or is there a trusted website you all use to find these deals. We want to stay inside Disney, but just want to get it for a cheap as possible.

Thanks

When are you planning in December? the rates will be very different. Prior to the 18th, it's considered a value pricing season. After that it's holiday rates - one of the most expensive and crowded times of year. If you have flexibilty, staying in the first half of the month will be cheaper.

Good luck. In my lurking time I've learned that DISers will have the best advice!

Well, I always just book our trips myself. Finding deals always depends on what dates you are going. As far as I know, all of December up until December 20 is value season. The rest of December is Holiday season, the most expensive. We are going December 12 - 21 so we will have value season rates through the 19 at our resort. Since we have 4 kids we usually stay at a Value Resort, All-Star Movies is our favorite, and we get two adjoining rooms. That is the absolute cheapest way for us to stay on-site. Value Resorts are about $82.00 per night during value season. We are also getting the Disney Dining Plan. We have found that it always saves us money. You get 1 Counter Service Meal per day, 1 Table Service Meal per day and 1 Snack per day. We always do at least one sit-down table service meal per day anyway, so the plan saves us money - almost $500.00 on our next trip.

As for discounts, if you are a AAA member you can get up to a 20% discount on your room rates and some people get promotional codes through the mail or email. I asked if I had any codes attached to my name when I booked our December trip, and I did have a 40% off code for our room, but the offer ended on December 13 and we just couldn't go that early. Hope this info helps.
