We have a 2 week old little girl, I was lucky enough to get quite a few diapers at my shower but I think I will need to pick up more newborn sized diapers soon. Everyone was afraid to get too many newborns since their kids weren't in them long but I have a peanut on my hands at 6 pounds

Any advice for the best deals on diapers?

Congrats on you new little girl!!

We always used the store brands. Most of the time they are made by the same company that makes the brand names ones. ;)

Congrats on your new little one! This week I found the best deal at CVS as there brand diapers are B1G1 50 percent off. I think their jumbo packs were around $8.49 a pack so around $12 or so for 2 jumbo packs. My price point for diapers is normally $4 or less for a jumbo pack and that's when I stock up. I went to CVS since I had a gift card to use and got diapers this week. If for some reason i run low I find that targets up and up brand are great quality and a good price too.! As a side note cvs had their formula on the same sale as the diapers in case you formula feed at all. I follow a blog called hip2save and she does weekly deals for tons of stores and coupon matches so it saves me tons of time in hunting down the best weekly deals including baby items.

If you really want to go cheap, use cloth diapers! I spent about $200(diapers, wet bags and a few other things) upfront but won't need to spend another dime. I used disposables until she got to about 11 pounds (the ones I got were just too big for a little newborn, mine was 6.5 pounds at birth). Then started using the cloth, and have been very happy with the results.

If it's something you're interested in, the ones I use are Sunbabies. http://www.sunbabydiapers.com/

Congrats! My little one just turned 1 on Saturday. Time really flies so enjoy it.

I have never paid more then 7 cents per diaper for newborn, size 1 and 2. And size 3-5 I have paid no more then 12 cents. I only have gotten the pampers and huggies since I can get them cheaper then the store brands. And onces in a great while the stores even pay me to buy diapers:rotfl:

CVS has been the place to go most of the time. They have great deals and you can use a cvs coupon and a manf. coupon together. Plus any extra bucks that you might have.

Target is also great. I always watch for deals to and they always seem to have a good clearance ever now and them(they even have some on clearance now.) And at Target you can also use a Target coupon and a manf. coupon. Plus if you have a Target card you get another 5% off.

And my last tip is buy a size larger if you find a great deal. My son is now in 4, but I have a good stock pile of 5 ready to go. Just so the math. It takes some work, but it is worth the savings.

Hope this helps!

Congradualtions!!!! I had a peanut too. He was born at 2 pounds 10 ounces so he was in Newborn diapers for a long time.....

I usually check out this site weekly and always buy ahead I hate running out.... I almost never buy with out coupons.

Target Diapers are great and they usually have coupons on there website
BJ Diapers are really good too.

If you can't cut coupons I find target's prices are the best.

I usually save the store brands for the during the day and use brand names for sleeping at night.

Congrats!

I use Amazon Mom for Pampers or I buy at Sam's Club.

Sam's Club brand is very comparable to Pampers. Sam's Club also sells Pampers.

If you do not have a membership at Sam's and have one in your area, it is worth the $40 per year for me.

Sam's club wipes are great. Inexpensive and very convenient packaging.

They also sell baby yogurt, puffs, yogurt melts, etc.

Thanks for this thread OP

We're expecting our first child in September and I have no idea what i'm doing and where I should be looking for diapers.

Wow! That's impressive! Can you tell us more about how you do this? I've done great with formula prices, infact, I think milk is going to be more expensive ... but the best I can do on diapers has been $.21 for size 4 diapers on Amazon.

I get the best deal on Amazon with Amazon Mom and Subscribe & Save. I can't even get close with coupons in the stores...

I totally agree! I have a 6 month old and he actually wore newborn diapers for 2 months so I had to buy more than I had stockpiled. I looked into my order history at Amazon and it has been my best option to date. I may be able to save a little more with the weekly deals but as a new mom and working one too...I don't have time for clippin coupons or running around town so I don't clear the shelves right now  So my next best bet is Amazon.

I bought Pampers Newborn Sensitive and paid $35.60 for 120 diapers so .29 a piece and it got delivered to my door for free with Amazon prime. I also bought a box of regular pampers newborn for $14.87 for 84 diapers and that comes out to .17 each if you don't need sensitive

Time and sanity are precious for me right now so I think this is a good deal. Make sure you clip the $1.00 digital coupon and you do both Amazon Mom and subscribe and save for the biggest savings.

Hope this helps :-)

Congrats on the new baby!!!

Baby #4 just turned 13mos so we've definitely bought our share of diapers. We use a lot of cloth as someone else suggested but I also love disposables for going out and overnight. And when the diaper pail is full and I haven't washed diapers yet...like now :rotfl: Anyway, Amazon with Amazon Mom has been our best deal for brands like Huggies or Pampers. I like Target's store brand pretty good. My favorite diaper is Costco's store brand. THey are made by Huggies and have always fit my babies great.

I try to "roll over" extra care bucks. A few weeks ago cvs had a good deal on huggies. I had a $3 off huggies coupons, $2 cvs huggies coupon, $3 off of a $15 dollar or more baby items, and $10 in extra care bucks to use. Plus if I spent $25 or more on huggies I got back $10 in extra care bucks. It worked out really well for me. My DH and mom also have cards and had all of the coupons expect the $10 ecb so I used their cards and really stocked up cheap.

Now I have $30 to use in the next few weeks on another diaper deal either on huggies or pampers.

Another great tip is if you have any pampers diapers where the tab might break off when putting it on call them. Pampers is so wonderful that they will send you out a coupon to refund the whole box or bag of what you bought. Huggies also has done this, but their coupon values are not as great.

I have always read such great things about buying diapers from CVS but we don't have one here :sad2:

I meant to do the CVS deal, but then I found a bunch of Santa diapers at a local food store and they are coming out to $3 for a Huggies Jumbo pack, so I started buying those instead.

And I have also noticed this box of Pampers is ripping on the tabs. Annoying... Maybe I will call. It's been more than one diaper, but I do like Pampers overall for holding it in.

I do the best at CVS and Target since you can stack store and manufacture coupons.

Check out southernsavers.com, she does a weekly best prices on diapers, wipes and formula. If there are coupons available, she will tell you what paper they were in or give you the link to print them.

I was the opposite when my DD was born. She was over 9lbs, so we went straight into size 1 and I had to exchange all my Newborn diapers. :)

Thanks for the info. With this last box of pampers, we've had the issue with the tabs ripping. Never happend before, but it's happend to like 3 or 4 diapers in this last batch. Maybe I will go ahead and call.

Another question, where do you get the CVS coupons?

We're pretty partial to pampers, so that could be making it harder for me to get the CVS deals ... but I'll start keeping a better eye out.

I do like pampers better too, but sometimes I just cant see spending that much. My son was in Santa diapers the whole month of March and April :) It was cute, but I got such a good deal I could not passe them up.

I think that I got the CVS coupons just for buying diapers there. They sent them in to me, but sometimes I do get them when I scan my card at the store.

I would call everytime a tab rips on a different pack. I have done this 5 times and everytime they sent me a HIGH value coupon back. I hate that you pay so much for things that dont work. Pampers is really good about it. They do ask for you to send in the diaper so they can look at it (unused of course) and they give you a pre paid envolope to send it back!

One other thing: iheartcvs.com post cvs adds that are coming out in the next few weeks so you can plan ahead:surfweb:
