I am trying to decide where DH and I should eat on 10/31 prior to the 9:00 Cirque show. Because of timing, a DD restaurant seams to be the best choice. We were thinking about Bongos, but I just read a couple of bad reviews. Any other thoughts out there?

We went to House of Blues while we were at Disney last month. It was very good, they have a nice variety of food but the drink menu wasn't extensive. I would eat there again given the chance. The food wasn't as spicy as advertised though. I had to add some hot sauce to everything that came out.

Happy eating!

I know I will probably be in the minory but we absolutely LOVE Rainforest Cafe.... great food & awesome atmosphere. We also really enjoyed Wolfgang Pucks.

I would like to second the choice of Portobello's.

Oh goodness...I simply die for Fulton's Crab House.

I guess because I live in Arizona and we dont really get what one would call 'good seafood' here  but theirs was really truly wonderful. When we were at WDW in May out the 10 days we were there we ate at Fultons THREE times!!!! I'd say it was the best I've ever had.

Seriously, the crab claws were as big as my fist..... *drools*.... and soooooo good ......*wipes chin*...... there was no need to even dip them in the butter.....*sigh*......

*starts planning another trip to WDW just so she can eat those crab claws again*

I would love to go to Fultons, but one of my party has her heart set on Bongos. Oh well.

BTW mystycalchyk, next time you're in Phoenix area...Salt Cellar in Tempe on Hayden just north of McClintock. Terrific seafood!

We had one of our favorite meals at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (not Express) at DD West Side. The menu is huge and had lots of vegetarian choices for us. The sushi (veggie)was some of the best I've ever had. Butternut Squash ravioli...mmmmm. Also, it's just a short walk to the Cirque tent from there.

WOW!!! Thanks!! I will make sure to check it out. Now that the summer is over, the thought of going to Phoenix isnt as horrific.

We actually are going down the hill in November for my hubby's cousin's wedding. Sounds like a great opportunity to me. :D

...and now, back to your regularly scheduled thread....

Our two favorites are House of Blues & Portobella Yacht Club. We enjoy eating at both of these restaurants on every trip.

I think that the best restaurant at DD by far is Wolfgang Puck (upstairs). We've dined at Fulton's and found the food lacking creativity and incredibly pricey for the portion size. We dined at Portabello years ago and I remember it being okay, but it didn't blow us away. But that was a number of years ago. We dined at WPs last year and thought it was outstanding.

I ate at Bongos and we all liked it. I have heard great things about Wolfgang's, though. If you go to Bongos, get some sweet plantains. They are soooo good. I love plantains.

HOB Love the cajun meatloaf and voodoo shrimp and have a great fried chicken salad and DS loves the ribs.::yes:: :wave2:

We just ate at Portobello's last week and it was one of the best meals we had at WDW! When it comes to eating at DTD then I would go for Portobello's.

Oooh, sorry to disagree, but Salt Cellar was a disappointment! But that's just my opinion-- I'm VERY biased because I grew up in San Diego eating Grandpa's catch of the day! It's very hard to get good seafood in AZ.

Thanks for all the input. I will ask DH which he is in the mood for Italian or Seafood. Portobellos sounds like it has my vote.

[emphasis mine]

*sigh*

I know.

I will try it though. I've also been looking at that Papadeux place over off of 17 in North Phoenix on the frontage road just before Dunlap (ish), wonder if its any good.......

sorry to hijack again.

*begs and grovels for forgiveness*

Never went to Wolfgang Puck, wanted to but I feared that it would be uber trendy and therefore a disapointment. I will make sure to try it on our next trip (whenever that is)

Portabello Yacht Club and Wolfgang Pucks Cafe are the two that I would recommend. I have been to several other DD restaurants, and they just dont seem to have the greatest food. I love the atmosphere at rainforest, but the food has gone down hill every trip. I do not anticipate eating there again. Captain Jacks was good, but you get no side dish with your meal, at least not when I was last there in 1997. Also kind of expensive. I have heard good things about Fultons and House of Blues, but have not yet tried either of them.
