Best Days to visit the parks...Len???

The time I'm going is 3, but because I wanted to use some EMHs I'm going to the parks on those EMH days (AK evening, EP evening, MK morning). Since the crowds are level 3 will it be that bad? I think if it was crowd level 7 or above I wouldn't have.

I have everything set with PSs and all so it's a pain to change it

The week we will be there looks to be about the same. Mostly 7's and 8's now. eek! I also notice that some of the best parks have changed for our dates too. I am sure we will still have a wonderful trip!

We're going in June and have 2 days planned for MK. One is a Tuesday...which appears to have been a good choice, but the other is a Thursday...which looks like the worst choice. I based Thursday on it being between the two EMH days for MK and thought that it was logical that it would be less busy that day. I guess I was wrong . Is it possible that people just aren't into the swing of things with the new EMH schedule yet to make it come out that way? It makes no sense to me. We're going to keep Thursday since we'll also have Tuesday so it's not that big of a deal, but I just keep thinking that it won't be that bad on Thursday-especially since Wednesday is the evening EMH. Guess I'll find out pretty soon .

For those of us going in June and other times when crowd levels are 7 or greater, I wonder how much difference day of the week even matters. With the exception of avoiding EMH days, I wonder if a "worst" day is "horribly crowded" while a best day is only "extremely crowded". How much do you actually gain?

We're going to avoid EMH days, be at the parks when the ropes drop, be at the hotel when lunch is finished, and be back at the parks for supper and evening. Other than EMH, I'm not going to worry about the best/worst days. But I am going to follow a touring plan as much as I can, knowing the youngsters will be bouncing us off that as well. That's fine, though. The trip's for them. When they stop having fun at the parks, we'll just go back and have fun at the pool!

We're stopping off in Destin for a couple of days on the way home. Somehow, I imagine the beach will seem like paradise by then!

Thanks for the update: I'm a little uneasy as our crowd level went from 3 to 5. Although I expected it after hearing on this board all the people having a break in the Northeast the last week of April.

My plan is to hit the parks in the early morning that had the extra evening hours the night before. Hope it works.

We're going the week beefore you - same scenario - 5 on Monday, 3 on Wednesday & Friday. I really don't want to change everything around at this point - PSs for a party of 8 aren't all that easy to get.

Oh yeah, and we're supposed to do the MK on Regis & Kelly day - I'm *so* thrilled - NOT.

Early December, especially the first week, is the worst time to go. The weather is horrible and the crowds are too, contrary to what Len says.

My advice to those who are thinking about going in early December is....don't...you'll be sorry!

That is so strange.One of our best trips was the first week in December. We walked onto everything, the weather was fabulous, everyone at the parks was in the greatest mood.It truly was our most magical vacation!

Hi folks,

Jalva22, assuming you have a touring plan, the difference isn't much - around 20 minutes of extra waiting on the worst day versus the best. See the section titled "How Important is Choosing the Right Day" for details.

And given that, I wouldn't change PS reservations around, assuming other factors like EMH don't come into play.

Are you serious? I have heard nothing but great things about early December. I have never been but have family that has.

We've only had beautiful weather and our longest wait was 10 minutes. Most rides we walked on. Maybe it's the second week (Pop Warner) that gets so bad?

I was over at the MK for a few hours today and the crowd was fairly light. The longest line I saw today was for BTMR at 30 mins. But, HM and PoTC were walk-ons. Space Mountain was about 15 mins but I got a FP and waited in line so I could ride it twice. It was a very good day crowd wise today.

Any1 have any experience with crowd level 5?? How bad is it? My last week in April days were originally a 3 and I wasn't worried until the list just got updated. I was even thinking of changing my trip to the 2nd week of May because of this update....any advice?

Several areas in NE with spring break last week of April and that huge ARDA conference going on at the Swan and Dolphin. DIsney boosting the hours at the MK and adding extra parades....not good...GRRR

I'm traveling the last week of April too and hated to see the increase in Len's crowd levels...but w/ all due respect to Len, I'm still not that convinced.

First, CT & MA school vacations are the 3rd week in April, not the 4th....This coincides w/ Patriots day on Monday, April 18th. (This should be the long weekend w/ the higher crowds imho)

Second, The conference.....typically these do not impact crowd levels at the parks significantly though they do impact the weighting factor on occupied rooms. Sure, these folks may be traveling w/ family members to take advantage of a less expensive Disney vacation....but they do have to spend some time at their conference. I just don't think it will be that bad.

Third, Have a good touring plan, get up early and out of the parks in the afternoon....OR sleep in late, get to the parks in the afternoon and stay out late w/ EMH. We should be just fine!!!

once you are up to crowd level 6,7, and 8 is there a noticable difference between them or does it just seem crowded and you wouldn't be able to tell a 6 from a 8? We are deciding between the first week in June 2006 (hoping it will be cooler and less crowded) and the second week in July 2006 (value season on deluxe resorts). So what I'm basically asking is, will the crowds or temperatures be noticeably less in June to make me want to give up the cheaper room rate? Thanks!
