We'll be in Orlando July 5-12 and will be spending most of the time at Disney, but we want to spend one day at IOA. Does anyone have an idea or best guess on which day of the week typically has the lowest attendance?

We went to Universal on the Monday and Islands of Adventure of the Tuesday.

Universal was lovely and quiet - i think that we done Back to the Future, Men in Black and Jaws in under an hour .

I would so recommend getting there for when it opens - i can never understand people stroll in at 11am!

That's what I've been saying over and over, I sound like a broken record. Just got back, Monday the 31st was light, did the thrill ride lap at IOA in 1.5 hours, everything was a walkon for me. Left the park at 10:30am, and the people we're coming like you wouldn't believe. And they wonder why they don't have a good day. I get walkon rides, and they get to wait 45 minutes for each, why? Because they arrived at 11am instead of 9am. Park was actually open at 08:50am. Did Hulk (front, back), spiderman (walkon), and Dr Doom (twice), and it was only 09:15am.

Robvia-- Wow, you really did a lot in less than 1/2 an hour. Even with FOTL it's nice to not fight all the crowds. We're planning on getting to the parks before they open, going to Hulk and riding in the front (since FOTL doesn't work on the front seat), doing Doom, and then Spiderman. At that point we'd plan to do Pteranadon Flyers. Do you think the ride time would still be short for Flyers at that point? Then we'd head to DD and do the front seat.

On arrival day we'll be coming from Jacksonville and checking in at RP before heading to the parks. We'll try to get there as early as possible, but I seriously doubt by opening. If we're not there at opening, which park should we head to? I'm thinking the Studios since we can catch some shows and use FOTL for BTTF and MIB. BTW, we have 4 kids from 3-15yo so will be doing all the rides between the 6 of us (plus we're meeting my sister and BIL).

Thanks, T&B

What I would do for IOA is to do the front seats of Hulk first and then do Pterandon Flyers. Both those rides do not take the room key. Then backtrack and do Doom and Spiderman later. You can always use your room keys on those rides.

You can do IOA or USF on the day you check into RP. Even if you don't arrive by opening, you still have your room key.

Barry-- thanks, that sounds good, especially since my 3yo is unable to do a lot of the bigger rides. It would be nice if he gets a couple of turns on the Flyers before it gets busy. I don't think that he's going to have the patience to wait for a long time in line.

Hi Barry or anyone else in the know,

Question for you since I have never stayed at at Universal hotel before or been to IOA....

I am staying at RPR on May 28th and 29th and I want to do IOA and didn't realize their are some rides that don't have the room key access for front of the line perks. So, could you tell me which ones these are w/o the perk or is their a post or site w/ a list? I'll have two dogs back at the hotel waiting on me on Thursday so I want to get back to them and do that park ASAP or plan on going back later that night if need be.

Thanks...Mmketeer

Will you be there with children? The only ride at IoA that I can think of that doesn't have an express entrance is Pteranadon Flyers. If you want to do that you can go first thing in the morning and ride. Usually you need to do that with a child, but it it's not busy first thing they will probably let just adults ride. At least they did my sister and BIL.

Hi Tigger&Belle,

Thanks for the tip....if that's the only ride than I am all set. No kids...just of the four-legged version and I don't think there is any theme park that is geared towards them yet!LOL! Though, it sounds like we may have found a new friend in Lowe Hotels. :)

We saw several dogs at RPR last week. It almost made me miss mine. Actually, if we could have kenneled our children and brought our dog it would have made for a better trip. :)

What is the best day/s to do US?? And worst day/s?? Thanks for your help:confused:

TiggerBelle,

Really? LOL! Your kids couldn't have been that bad....LOL!

We took them to the Saftey Harbour Resort and Spa near Clearwater, Fl. and we got alot of folks who had thatsame reaction. ...they really missed their pets. Our kids just loved all of the attention and since their wasn't very many people there (it was September) they even got to hang out around the pool and the bartender brought them water.

I looked all over the Universal Resort Royal Pacific board and I only saw a post about a woman who brought her cat. So, were they manly small dogs or big dogs that were there last week?
