Best chance for a 2 BR?

I have a question for all of you veterans. We are new DVC owners and have our first trip home planned for April. We just decided to also go Oct. 7 - 13 with friends. We will want a 2BR - anywhere is fine. It is Columbus Day weekend and F&W Festival time at Epcot. I called AKV today and they had a 2 BR for that time, but not last day.

Should I:

1. Book AKV and waitlist for the last day and hope it comes through?

2. Wait until 7 months out and try to book a different resort? I don't care where we stay but am worried about getting a 2 BR at this time b/c of F&W and Columbus Day.

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I would book the AKV and waitlist for the last day. Then at 7 months if you really want to try somewhere else you can try to change the reservation but at least you will have something for that time frame.
