Best booking strategy

Okay, looking to book my home resort, AKV, 1BR for 12/22-12/26 and then a 2BR (ideally Value) from 12/26-12/30. What is my best strategy for booking? Should I book a 2BR for the whole time and then call back and switch to 1BR for the first 4 days? Is that even possible? Or should I just book them as the two separate reservations and take my chances with the 2BR Value? Thoughts?

Since you can book 7 days before you can book 4 days, and Value is such a small category.....If points allow, I would recommend the 2BR value for the whole stay than after a week? Book 1 BR days (or Waitlist) then cancel 2 BR days.

I would also book the 2 BR for the entire stay and then call back in 5 days and try to book the 1 BR and cancel the first 4 nights of teh 2 BR. You do have to consider your point standing when doing this. If you have to borrow points for the 2BR initially, will you still be able to bank points after you change your ressies (since a 2BR stay for the entire time will take more points). Or maybe go for a higher point 1BR (Savanahh view).
