Best Beer in WDW

I like the Moosehead Ale at Le Cellier.

Also, the Hefeweizen they have a Germany is good, BUT, that is NOT a good beer to drink in the heat of the summer.

Raglan Road has a flight of beer I want to try on our next trip.

Another wife of a homebrewer, and DH got all excited when Sam Calagione tweeted that he was drink one of his beers at the World. The best we could find (not in a TS restaurant) on our last trip was Widmer Bros. Drifter Ale. Let's just say it served it's purpose on that trip.

The 60 minute IPA was added onto the standard WDW bar menu a little while back. They should have bottles at most if not all resort bars, and many of the resort TS places should have it as well. After you get into the parks it's hit and miss, but I remember seeing it listed anywhere that had the standardized drink menu.

It is hard to beat the beer selection at the Rose & Crown. I love the Guinness on tap in he bar. The beer sampler is a great way to try most of them.

Tsing Tao is pretty tasty and can be found in China.

I think I'm pretty lucky, geographically. We live near the Finger Lakes, which as well as having tons of small wineries, has a ton of very small breweries. Some of the favorites I've tried in local restaurants / pubs aren't available for retail outside going to the brewery itself. Like my current obsession - Naked Dove Windblown Ale. It's absolutely amazing! As is the Ithaca Brewing Co. Flower Power & the Southern Tier Phinn & Matt's Extraordinary Ale. Looking at my list, it looks like I'm a Pale Ale kinda gal. Is that sort of a normal jumping off point? I know with wine, I started with pretty easy drinkers & moved on from there.

Do you have any recommendations on Pale Ales in WDW for me?

I keep meaning to go every year, and every year something comes up. But I've heard it's a fantastic time.

I keep meaning to go every year, and every year something comes up. But I've heard it's a fantastic time.

Howdy back at ya! I have been to MacGregors & Rohrbach's. My new fave for really delicious craft brews here is The Owl House on Marshall by the Co-Op. They change their beer menu constantly, so there's always something new to try.

Like I said, I'm new to brew, so I haven't explored any of the Brew Fesivals yet, but I will! I just hope it's not as chaotic as the Finger Lakes Wine Fest.

My husband had a beer in every country @ Epcot & his fav was Japan's beer.Not sure what it was but it was his fav. I had champagne/bubbly wine, whatever each country had. My fav was in Italy Rose Regale. MY #1 FAVORITE glass of wine I have ever had. It's desert wine & they give you a chocolate w/ it. Tastes like chocolate covered rasberries & it's awesome. My husband got it for me on Valentine's day.

Ah, beer lovers unite for a common cause. I agree with the statement that WDW is a beer lovers wasteland for the most part. Since AB/InBev have bought up a lot of my second tier choices(Hoegarden, Bass and even now Goose Island) there aren't a lot of choices left. I wish they would get a permanent booth in the Canada pavilion at Epcot to have the Unibroue products. Trois Pistoles is one of my absolute favorites. I don't recall seeing any of the DFH brews anywhere but I'm hoping that info is correct. We usually settle for mixed drinks, wine or one of the German offerings at Epcot. At AK we tried the Safari Amber(not sure who makes it)and it was drinkable(probably helped that it was hotter than you know what there). We are also avid homebrewers so are very hard to please when it comes to beer.

I've been getting double Tanqueray and tonics at R&K the past few trips since the beer selection is so bad.

That is my go to drink. It was explained to me once that is imperative that a man have a default drink of choice. It helps fumbling about at the bar making decisions.

However, I left it up to bar keep at R&C to pick my gin. He brought me Hendricks, my first floral gin. I had no idea. I thought gin was all juniper, which I also like.

Now I can look all snooty when a bar keep tells me there is no Hendrick and I have to settle for Saphire.

Germany has changed the beer distributors, so I don't think there's anymore Spaten or Franziskaner ... I haven't really tried the new Radeberger or Altenmunster offerings, but it may be a step down.

There's really no mind-blowing brews to be found in WDW, but for dinkable beer.

- Unibroue brews (Le Fin du Monde etc ...) - Le Cellier

- Abita Turbodog on tap - The Wave

- Bottles of Dogfish 60 minute IPA, Bottles of Abita Turbodog - Almost any bar and many table service around WDW

- Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale - any of the bars and restaurants in the Poly

This is disappointing to hear about Germany. Franziskaner Heifewiezen(sp?) was amazing. This jury will be out on Germany until June when we go. The Spaten offering was pretty good and the Oktoberfest was always a refreshing beer. Rose and Crown offers your typical Guinness along with Bass Ale, Harp, etc and the combos. I believe Germany will cycle through what they offer too, so either way, I'd check out Germany.

Canada has your Labatt's Blue and those domestic lagers, but the Unibrou offerings are worth it if you can get it. I've been a couple times and they've been out. That should tell you how good it is...

Radeburger Pils is decent if fresh (and it should be at Epcot with the high turnover), Too bad about the Franziskaner (even if now part of the evil InBev portfolio - this is a world class hefe). I had the Altenmunster replacement during last fall's F&W and thought it had very little flavor.

I haven't seen any Unibroue offerings (other than La Fin at the 15th anniversary beer F&W booth last fall) other than in Le Cellier and Brown Derby for quite a while (they used to sell bottles at one of the Canada concession booths many years ago).

And don't forget to order those double Gin and Tonics or other mixed drinks - only two bucks more (used to be only $1.50 more but hey it's Disney, prices have to go up every trip).

We'll be there in about ten days and if I can find anything new noteworthy I will report back.

OK, so have I read this right....no more Optimator at Biergarten?!?!?

To me, there is nothing better than enjoying the buffet with one of those GIANT mugs of Spaten...I had it for the first time about 5 years ago and it really turned me on to dark beers. That's pretty much all I drink now.

So sad.....

I don't drink but my dad really enjoys the beers from the Rose & Crown pub and the beer at the ESPN club at the Boardwalk.

My husband really enjoyed the beers at Big River Grille at the Boardwalk Resort-I am not much of a beer fan so I can't comment but he def liked them all (he did the flight so he got to try them all!)

The food was good there too, and the Boardwalk is so pretty (if you have never been I *highly* suggest it!!!)
