I believe there are only balconies/porches at the deluxes right? Well, where is the best, most spacious?

OKW, one, two or three bedroom villa.

But I read on another thread that you don't think you'll like OKW.

the more I am looking at photos, the more I think I'll like it. We drove past and the buildings I saw on the outside look nothing like the photos posted. I am begining to wish I had booked the 1 bedroom, but for two nights feel like that nice kitchen and all that extra space will be wasted!

We have stayed at GF, WL and AKL. Thought the balconies were all about the same size. We had a fifth floor balcony at the WL overlooking the MK, which was the best balcony we ever had. Though room 5425 at the AKL which had a great view of the savanah came in a close second.

Room 3123 at the Boardwalk Villas. It is a dedicated 1-bedroom standard-view unit in the corner of the building facing the bus stop. Since the room is at the corner of the building, it is larger and shaped differently than most other 1-bedroom units, and has an exceptionally large 'wrap-around' balcony. Plus there is a second, smaller balcony accessible from the bedroom. You can see the Illuminations fireworks from the large balcony and the Fantasmic! fireworks from the smaller one.

4123 and 2123 (above and below 3123) feature the same size balcony, but 2123 is a smoking unit and 4123's balcony only has partial coverage from rain while 3123's balcony is totally covered by 4123's.

Since Boardwalk Villas are a Disney Vacation Club Resort, and 3123 is a standard-view unit (only 20% of BWV units are standard-view) it will be difficult to book since DVC members with BWV as their home resort get first dibs on the standard-view units which require less DVC points than preferred-view.

Do we go to Disney to sit on the Balcony or Porch ?? NO !!!!! We go to Disney to enjoy the Magic........then Sleep in the BED !!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:  :offtopic: :crazy2: :goofy: :goofy: :goofy: :goofy:

sorry - we visit often and like to relax in the evening or late afternoon at our resort and would like a balcony or porch to sit and have a drink while the kids are resting/napping. We have plenty of magic on those balconies - believe me!

nothing like undwinding after a long day sitting on your balcony, with a cold beverage in hand. i cant decide which one i like best. poly, mk view...awesome. yc, boardwalk view, great. bwi, boardwalk view, great. if i had to pick one i would pick yc. great view of the lights of the boardwalk

Quite a few rooms at BCV have long but narrow balconies. To me these rival those at OKW except that OKW has a light and a fan.

But there are a few HUGE balconies at BCV. We had one off the studio portion of an accessible 2 BR and it was enormous....much bigger than those at OKW.

I also think the balconies or lanais at the GF and Polynesian that face the MK have the absolute best views at WDW at least for me. CR must rival them but we've not stayed there. Not as large as OKW balconies though.

SOG balconies are quite large and if you have the right room, you can watch the fireworks from the MK.

A handful of rooms at the GF have TWO balconies. Ours in Conch Key had one looking straight toward the castle and the other overlooked the marina. AKL savannah balconies are also in a world all their own. Nothing beats opening my morning by sharing a cup of coffee with giraffes a mere stone's throw away.

Our 1-bed at OKW had a large "porch" area. A regular, full-size table with 4 chairs. We looked across the way to water. Very pretty.

I *think* I remember the Contemporary having very long balconies, but not very deep. Small, low table (for pop and an ashtray, or whatever), 2 chairs.

My favorite is the full balcony at the BC, where you can look out and see water and the Boardwalk. IMHO, the best view in all of WDW.

I'm looking forward to my "deck" at the Ft. Wilderness Cabin!

The BWV boardwalk views are the best in all of Disney.

We stayed in Conch Key at the Grand Floridian (Room 7429) and had a fantastic balcony overlooking the lagoon / magic kingdom last summer. Since this is a dormer room, the balcony is smaller than a regular room, but it offers privacy and adequate room for two adults to enjoy a small meal or drinks. I was told this is a rather difficult room to get (we got lucky) as everyone wants a magic kingdom view at the GF and there are so few....

I sure hope this is helpful!

No doubt. Also we had a 2BR above the Screen Door Store on the 2nd floor and the balcony was as wide as the 2BR and about 8 feet out (app 8 ft by 35 ft?) and a great view of the BW, the lake, Y&B and EPCOT. Best Balcony we have ever had anywhere by far. :thumbsup2

We may be staying at BCV this coming May. How do you go about getting these great balconies? Is there a secret to getting a really good balcony?

We stayed on the 14th floor of the Contemporty with a MK view. The balcony was huge, it even had a lounge chair. We watched WISHES every night right from our balcony.

Depends what view youhave from your resort balcony. We had a 2 bed at OKW that had views of the golf course. As I dont like golf it was not the best balcony. Also was mouldy. At the GF i had a view of the tree blocking the balcony :rolleyes2 I had a lovely river view at POR but it was a from the 2nd floor walkway outside the room not a balcony.
