Ok, so back in late June, someone down south posted their Staples had started with the deals. We have started looking around here (DC-Metro, on the Maryland side). So last weekend, we got glue for $.01 and printer paper that will be $.25/ream after the rebate check arrives. That is the first I've seen for serious loss-leader deals around here (and yes, despite lthe "limit two with $5 minimum purchase" signs everywhere, somebody was there with a whole cart of all the $.01 pens and erasers (we're talking dozens and dozens)... the shame is that the manager caved in and went with it...)

So what are the best deals y'all are seeing, and where are you seeing them?

I'm seeing gluesticks for 2/$.20 at Target, and the stuff at Staples, but that's about it for our area for now.

Teacher are allowed to buy 25 of each item. I got enough pens and erasers for my whole class. Perhaps the person you saw was a teacher.

I am the one that posted a couple of weeks ago!

The list at the coupon site was nice but she really did not have too many Walmart prices.

Here is what I paid:
5 Tab dividers-.97
Composition Books- .40
6-pack of Post-it notes- $4.97 (seperate packs are $1)
Meade 5Star notebook (w/subjects)- $3.94
Elmers Glue-.40
basic calculator- $1.00
Wirebound notebook (1 subject)- .20
Plastic portfolios w/ brads and pockets-.50

Target
1 1/2 inch 3 ring binder (Target brand-flexible)-$3.00 (this also has a flex. ruler, dividers, portfolio pocket in it for that price)

I went to Staples and Wal Mart this week. I have bought 9 glue sticks, 3 dry erase markers, 2 folders (with prongs), 2 3-ring binders, 4 boxes of crayons, 2 spiral notebooks, scissors all for $16.00.

I only have pencils to buy and I'm done but the Wal Mart and Staples deals weren't good enough.

Kroger had Crayola crayons 24ct for .25...much cheaper than Walmart (.40)

I bought a pack to see if they were also having a similar catalina deal as last year but no info printed so I guess not.
