Hiya Kinda!!!!
No I haven't seen that one but I have read the story in readers digest I believe. Isn't that amazing???
I heard a man speak on Christian Radio yesterday and wondered how many people either turned the station or listend and made fun. he's an inspirational speaker, and he has CP. You have to listen carefully to understand him.
He made a statement that he used to have a saying
"I have Cerebral Palsy
What's your problem?"
And he said Now he has another one
I have Cerebral Palsy
But Cerebral Palsy
doesn't have me!!!"
Braeton was with me and he said Mom that man has cp like me? I said yes Baby. He said cool. Maybe I can be on the radio one day!!!!
I cried the whole time we listened to that man speak. Braeton is such a miracle. Despite spasms in his lip, mouth area and the fact that he didn't speak till he was 3 his speech is very clear. When he gets sick or is having a bad day, he will get a little slurry, but you can still undrstand him very well.
When we found out he had CP my biggest thing was if he could just talk well then it would be o.k. I knew even if he was always in a chair that if he could just talk well then people would treat him a wholelot better. Sad fact but true. When we hear people struggling to talk we automatically treat them like they are mentally handicapped.
