Hey DD and Dis Buds!!!

I had my interview today.

The place was very nice.. I had to sign in using a touch pad Kiosk and then it took my pic for badge...very strange, but cool!!

I had to take my pic like 5 times though as I kept blinking or it was blurry:rotfl:

I met with two ladies and they asked me a bunch of questions.

The hrs are 9-6. You start accruing vac time after 30 days...

THey just started something too..in addition to 10 sicks days a year, you get an additional 3 days if your kids get sick..How nice is that:love:

The one lady then had some questions for me she said. I took over and see the dreaded form questions:

Where do you see yourself in 5 years ? What are your objectives and how are you going about to make sure they are achieved?

Name a situation where you went above and beyond to make a cusomter happy?

Blah, Blah, Blah...

Am I the only one who feels like an idiot when they put you on the spot like this?

There were 5 questions..I had to pass on the one, as I just couldn't think with people staring at me..:rotfl:

But, I made them laugh a few times and we chatted a bit.

So, we will see.

They have a few more interviews, but should have a decision by end of week.

So, I will keep your all posted!!

Please keep crossing your fingers for me.....and eyes, too if you like...:rotfl2:

Thanks:grouphug:

That's a good company and I do so want to see you get that one, so everything is crossed for you. I hate those kind of questions and I hate that they sit there and stare at you waiting for an answer. Just give it to me on paper, put me in a private room and let me answer these questions, then let me give you the paper to read. I never do well with those questions. They aren't yes or no questions and you had a good rapport going and you made them laugh so let's hope that they want someone normal, not a stodgy person who can answer those questions without being flustered. (If any of you can do that I mean no offense, lol). I am sure they will like you for who you are and your resume and references speaks volumes.

Good Luck on the interview at the Ins. Company also, what is that now, next week? I forget!!!

Thanks. I would have felt funny, been working like 2 months and then ask to take a vacation...would have felt strange...:goodvibes

I think I have an idea of one thing you have planned for your upcoming trip....not sure though, so I will keep my mouth closed, which is hard..:rotfl2:

I hear ya on forgetting things....Lists are the Way to go for sure:cool1: :cool1:

Just remember no matter what you forget, there is always a Walmart somewhere nearby!!!! I used to get crazy packing and worry about forgetting. Then I just started thinking well there's always a Walmart in the area. After that I got so relaxed about packing that it seems I never forget anything, lol. I tricked myself! :rotfl2:

You are evil pure evil!!!:sad2:

I have had coke in my house on occasion when it was on sale or Pepsi price was just too outrageous

That is a horrible pic of me, too......That was either right before bed or when I woke up.

I don't normally look that bad...:scared1:

HAHAHAHA didn't take you long to get online and see what I was up to now did it? LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry about the picture but it was the only one I had with you drinking, non other than, COKE!!!!! So Coke on sale tastes good but full price coke doesn't, is that how you see it? Hmmmm?

Yes she normally looks much better, it was just a day when we hadn't gotten fixed up yet to go anywhere, hadn't been up long and were just hanging out.

No need to explain, we all sit around the house not quite looking our best when we aren't leaving the house!!! I'm sure everyone understands!!!

Here ya go....For all of us who are geographically challenged...including me

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

united-states-map.gif

Thanks honey, I needed that. I can do the entire east coast, north and south as far in as Illinois and then the west coastline and the southwest, like Arizona, NM, TX but those other states get me confused. LOL!

Darn I missed my chance, I could have named you Elvira which is as close to Elvis as you can get for a girl I think. Hmm is it too late to revise your birth certificate, lol?

Next Up Chapter 25: A Trip to The Mountains!!!! We Hope... No Really We Hope! I mean it this Time!!!

:cool1:

I had to filter through and remove a TON of stuff so that this post wouldn't be a mile long.

I'm the only stable one...? I'm not sure how to take that. Does that mean I am meant to live in a stable? :rotfl2:

And OrangeBlossom is not your only Louisiana friend...

And you're welcome for being a part of this thread...

And thanks for pimping my thread...

And I don't know how you keep up with all those threads. If I didn't have yours to keep up with I would be able to keep up with all of them....then again I guess maybe it's easy for you considering YOURS is the one that has 10 pages a day!....

well..back to reading.

We went to Aliceville on a long weekend, oh my God, nothing there, not even a McDonalds or a Sonic, nothing, old broken down town, and the only restaurant there is a big really expensive place that looks like an old mansion. that doesn't even make sense to me!!!! I'd have to live in the tuscaloosa area and find a job there and let DH commute to Aliceville. I could never ever ever ever live there! :scared1:

I couldn't live in a town like that either.

My company just left....

Let me tell you...Wine...Blech.............

I take Pepsi over that anyday...

But I was polite and drank one glasss.

We had cheee and crackers and veggie tray with dip...Yummy

Still munching now...

Mmmm....I LOVE cheeeeese! I had a bunch of different cheeses at Hot August Night on Friday...they all tasted so good with the wine. So did the watermelon and grapes....I'm salivating just thinking about it!

I tried white and red and both were too much for me....

The one had the most hilarious name...but can't say it on here...:rotfl2:

aha....well I didn't look far enough ahead to see if it was the same as what Dd had but one of my DH's cousins got us a bunch of wine (he works for a beverage company) with some risque names...

One being 4 Play (except write out the number)

And another being...umm...like a Bull or an elephant...get it?

Was it either one of those? well maybe if I read further I'll find out....

back to reading AGAIN

Yes she's not your only Louisiana friend what about Cherbear and what about me???? Hmmmm?

Ok everyone, we've all had those questions on employment applications or had them asked to us in person during our interview. We all hate being put on the spot and it's so hard to think when put on the spot like that.

First of all, Sharkey post the questions they asked you that was so difficult and hard to come up with a perfect answer for.

Secondly, everyone....think about these questions and how you would answer them in the same situation.

Third, let's all copy and paste them into our word or word perfect program and keep that for our own reference. We can then change the words around a little to reflect our own previous jobs and our own situations.

Then we can study them so that when we have an interview we are prepared for those questions. Of if we get an application to fill out at home, we can use that as our guidelines.

What do you think everyone? it will help us all to have taht information at our fingertips!!!

Thanks for your help and suggestions (in advance) everyone!!!! :grouphug:

Business related matters , huh...?? Is that what you are calling it now... :rotfl2:

Sorry had to...:rotfl:

Thank you for comment on my pic....:goodvibes

Nite-Nite...

Will be looking for that update tomorrow:cool1:

LOL didn't even think of THAT! :rotfl2:

DGS taking a limo ride around the park. He has the best seat in the house and had a canopy to keep him in the shade. I gotta get me one of those and see if Sharkey will push me around!

CampingatCoushatta7-07026.jpg

Those are great pics and this one in his "limo" is my favorite. I just love the look on his face!

http://www.pibmug.com/files/map_test.swf

Can you pass a third grade test? I failed, lol.I got 41 out of 48 in the alotted time! :confused3

I remember taking that like a month ago....everyone at work failed the first time. I think it took me 5 tries to get 48/48. All those little states (especially Rhode Island) were hard to drop in their spots even when I knew them. Those little buggers!

I just want to say in order to get through this report I have your report up on 2 separate windows, DD....and I am toggling back and forth...while I wait for the reply box to come up on what i'm replying to in one window, I am starting to read the next page on the next window. I'm trying to be as efficient as possible, while reading every post and commenting on the ones I decide to comment on, while helping DD stay #1, while upping my post count in the process! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I would have felt funny, been working like 2 months and then ask to take a vacation...would have felt strange...:goodvibes

I hear ya on forgetting things....Lists are the Way to go for sure:cool1: :cool1:

I hear ya there...my DSister did that @ her job. I thought it was so tacky that she was only working there for a few months and then took off so much time. Ugh! I could never do that. That's why my DH and I haven't had a vacation in over 2 years! He started his job last year so we didn't want him to try and take off time being so fresh there.

 thanks for keeping your mouth closed but I'm sure you can figure it out since you've been keeping up with me and one other's thread :rolleyes1 I'm gonna be announcing it here soon on my thread since things are getting more planned with that one thing. The other I'm still waiting on

I plan on using the list that came in my passporter to help me pack. They thought of everything!!

Does anyone recall the Pepsi vs Coke poll that Sharkey (Trentsmom) conducted here on this thread??? I can't find the post for now but I'm sure you all remember it. It seems that Sharky said that Pepsi is the only drink for her. She couldn't believe how many Coke fans we had. Well you have to wonder just what she is really all about??? Check this out. It's a picture of Sharkey in her own living room, so apparently we were not anywhere that she couldn't get Pepsi, like being stuck at someone's house and all they have to offer is Coke, right? So look closely at her hand and see just what it is she is holding and drinking????????????

Kelly12-30-06.jpg

Yep, you got it right, that red can seems to be none other than Coca Cola!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

:lmao: HILLARIOUS!! I guess you're not a LOYAL pepsi drinker Trentmom, now are you!? :rotfl:

Well...it's that time. Time to play.................

HOW MANY PAGES DO I NEED TO READ TO CATCH UP ON DD'S REPORT!

HMMM....Looks like 15 today...not TOO bad! LOL

:scared: I'm not sure how I'm keeping up but lately it's been pretty easy for me. :confused3

Here ya go....For all of us who are geographically challenged...including me

:lmao:

:rotfl2: thanks for that. Lord knows I NEED the help :rotfl2:

Just remember no matter what you forget, there is always a Walmart somewhere nearby!!!! I used to get crazy packing and worry about forgetting. Then I just started thinking well there's always a Walmart in the area. After that I got so relaxed about packing that it seems I never forget anything, lol. I tricked myself! :rotfl2:

thanks for the tip!! At least now I know that I'll be able to run out and grab whatever I forget at a decent price.

;)

and LOOK!! YOU'RE @ 700 POSTS NOW!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I'm still trying to get DIS Veteran.

Uhm...I am shocked! I think your son is about to give you the finger!!! :scared1:

Love the map idea! Where did you ever get such a brilliant idea like that???

I was going to say that...but I decided not too...hahaha

:rotfl2: yeah...NICE MAPS!

Hey DD and Dis Buds!!!

Thanks:grouphug:

I hope you get it! And more importantly I hope it's a job that lets you have DISing time! :rotfl:

Thanks Leger.. I appreciate it:hug:

I also put it out there about possible vaction in Dec(short Disney Trip) and I told them it was Dec 4th..It was going to be Dec 4th-11th, but would definilte cut it short if I had to no problem....So, she said that would be fine....shouldn't be a problem, as most people take vac time near christmas..

I forgot, you can carry over I think she said 5 days a year of vac time.

I hear ya about bragging about yourself..You feel so dumb.

I would prefer to have been put in a room and given like 10 mins to answer those questions.. It is so hard to think when people are staring at you.

BTW..23 days until your trip!!!!!

You getting excited???:cool1: Starting to pack???

I am glad they were ok with your planned vacation. Storytime....When I interviewed for the job I have now, it was only about a month before my wedding  and I did say that "I'm getting married" but I don't think I told them when. I was hoping that once they made their decision they would want me to start at the end of November (got married Nov. 18th). I think they called me less then week later, and offered me the job. They told me to take the ritual drug test and once they were sure I had passed (they knew I would..but of course just policy), they would call and let me know so we could discuss a start date. Once that happened, they asked me when I could start, I told them how I had my honeymoon coming up in less than 3 weeks, and said I wanted to give my current employer 2 weeks notice, so I could start then but that would leave me starting work like 8 days before my wedding. Or I could start after I get back from the honeymoon. So they were completely cool with whatever I wanted to do but suggested I start after the wedding. So I gave my 2 weeks and 2 days notice (something like that) and worked up until a week before the wedding, tacked on my remaining vacation pay to the end, and ended up with a whole week before my wedding to get all last minute things done and RELAX a little bit. It was weird starting a new job only a few days after my honeymoon, but I didn't have to go through the name change process here (which I hear is grueling and your name NEVER gets completely changed in the system). So I am happy with my decision. Gosh I didn't realize my story would be that long! :confused3

I was going to say that...but I decided not too...hahaha

:rotfl2: yeah...NICE MAPS!

Wow! That's so cool that you ended up with a week before your wedding of time off! :thumbsup2 it's amazing what employers will do for you if you're just up front with them from the get go. Now if everyone would realize this, some of the world would be a better place.
