I'm not a big fish lover, but I think adding tomato might make it really good. Just my two cents. Don't give up on it until it fails. Then, order pizza. ;)

Well, I just finished vacumming the whole house after running to the store to get vac bags, and doing 3 loads of laundry, still have sheets to do, and I decided I wanted a nice afternoon cocktail. So I go to the freezer to take out the cocnut rum, and it is FROZEN solid, same for the vanilla vodka!!! Guess someone was telling me I don't need a drink!

Laura, I am sorry you hate to cook. I really like it, I love making just about anything. If I was there, I would come over and fix it for you....

Hi Guys!!!
Believe it or not this is the first time I've had the computer on all day! I'm gonna dash over to check out today's riddle in a few.
I went to the book store this morning & took my mini van in for an oil change & tire rotation. The Visa bill came:eek: No good can possibly come of that!!!! I think I might just need to hide it.....;) :p
LK-I put salmon on the grill in a shallow pan with a little white wine, sliced onion & sliced lemon. Yummy!
I enjoy cooking but I don't like to bake. I figure why should I bake when Entemnann's does such a fine job of it?:D
I'll be here tonight!!! 8 o'clock!!

I am not a big fan of salmon but you are making me hungry.

Good news on our dishwasher. It broke before July 4 and we have not been home enough to get it fixed. The one guy we called diagnosed it over the phone and said it cost too much to repair. "Get a new one." The machine is not that old. We called a different guy this morning. He came this afternoon, and fixed it....for $45. WooHoo No more handwashing dishes.

I better go fix dinner. We are having chicken.

Hiya,

No trip report (or even the beginning of one!) tonight I'm afraid! I'm really sorry, it takes so long to sort out! I've been scanning in my photos and getting access to DBF's digital photos and trying to resize the bulk of them tonight but it's slow going and I really don't want to publish anything without pictures to back it up! Therefore I hope you don't mind waiting until tomorrow evening, by which time I should have managed a few of the first days worth of stuff!

Oh yeah, off to bed now for a coupla hours so I can make an apperance on the chat - I really want to hear what is in all those mystery packages LOL

Cya at 8pm (1am my time but hey, I'm not *work* working tomorrow ;))
Gaspode

PS - I think DBF thinks I'm crazy but he is too polite to say anything!

If you're not able to edit your user name I thougth you may be interested in this recipe!!! ;)

HOT AND SWEET ELK ROAST

This recipe is to be cooked in a smoker with hickory wood chunks.

5 pound elk roast
2 12 ounce beers
1 12 ounce cola
3 tablespoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons Tabasco pepper sauce
1 teaspoon red pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix the beer, cola, syrup, red pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, and Tabasco together in a mixing bowl.

Pour the marinade over the roast and refrigerate overnight, turning the roast 3 or 4 times during this period.

When ready for cooking, pour the marinade in with the water in the water pan of the smoker, and smoke with hickory or mesquite wood chunks.

Cooking time is generally 1 hour per pound of meat.

Leftovers go great in chili!

 Hi all... even with all this fish talk (dislike fish) I am now really hungry. Be back later after dinner :teeth:

Thanks for the elk recipe! If DS ever bags one, I'll try it.

Ffor me tonight, I am going to let DH get Chinese or Chilis to go, because I did not take anything out of the freezer for dinner, and I am going to be tied up in a meeting from 5 to 7 probably. Iit's either that, or we do what we call "whatever", that's where we each just get something to eat from the fridge.

Think I will hit the pool for a little before my meeting. See you all at 8.

So when is the big event Carol?

Is it going to be here or in AIM?

Inquiring minds want to know!

A Quick Evening Hello!

The stress test went well today....in spite of the fact that the technician arrived an hour behind schedule....the front desk told me that my insurance had been terminated (which I know it has not been)....and....I had to sign something before they'd do the test saying that I'd pay out of pocket (to the tune of about $3,000) if they couldn'f figure out my insurance problem.... .....the good news is, thus far, my heart seems fine!

Works been a bit crazy....my colleague in NYC is on vacation for 2 weeks and I'm covering her territory as well....so I've missed staying on top of the Angel News.....hopefully I'll get to catch up later!

I've got some work to do now....and hope to be free for our 8:00 chat! See you then!

Valerie

Quiet night here as we were all in chat.

Thanks for the lovely party.

Sorry I wasn't there. Minor disaster at our house tonight. One of the kids left the freezer in the garage standing open and everything thawed. Sigh. We've cleaned out the freezer and now I have to go do my shopping all over again. That's what I get for sending someone out to get meat for dinner instead of doing it myself.

DH took me to see Chicago tonight. Guess he thought I looked stressed. LOL! No really, we are starting to date again. At least that is what the kids are saying. We decided that the kids are old enough to stay home alone once in a while and we deserve some time to ourselves. We got them burgers (because there was nothing to cook) and went out to the movies.

So do we get a report? What did I miss?

Merry - there is a text of the chat up to the time I had to leave. I can email it as an attachment, it is 26 pages! We are a chatty bunch. If I don't have your email, which I am sure I did at one time but did not save it in my address book, so pm it again, I promise to save it, and I will send the text. To all the others who sent their address, it will be coming shortly.

Guess what, there is a HUGE Monsoon storm at my house! This is the first rain we have had since April, I just don't know how long it will last or if we will get more than a few rain drops. Because of the wind, the dust will stick to the cars and the small amount of rain will just create a mess. Too bad, my car is in the garage. I hope my gazebo holds up!

Hiya All :)

I really enjoyed chat last night and have just now read the rest of the text that I missed due to my alarm clock disaster so thanks Marsha for sending that on to me!! LOL, you lot can be bad when I'm not around can't you - tsk tsk!! ;)

Will not be here for the riddle this morning, should catch up with it about 1pm (8pm your time) ish as have driving lesson (yuck!) and am then going to go grocery shopping as we currently have nothing in since hols.

Right, take care,
Cya,
Gaspode

:D

Morning Angels!

Great chat w/ everyone last night. Glad you liked everything Carol!

MerryPoppins - don't you love kids! I always am checking my downstairs refrig since they go in there for pop and sometimes don't shut the door all the way. At least it's just pop and beer in the refrig section. The freezer door is too high for them.

Marsha - thanks for doing the transcript. maybe for a drink in disney you could edit some of it out?

Gaspode - are you tired today? I'm glad you woke up to chat w/ us.

Bad storms here last night, I kept waiting for one of my trees out front to be struck by lightening. Thank goodness the kids were asleep.

Morning Angels!

Lk, sorry I'm late with this, didn't see it until now.
We are BIG salmon lovers here! Here's a good marinade for you!

1/4 cup Honey
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup soy sauce

You can grill it or you can put it under your broiler. I prefer to grill it. I bought cedar planks at Williams Sonoma. You soak them in water for a half hour, put them right on the grill, when hot, put your salmon on them and cook, gray side down. They might take about 15-20 minutes, you can tell when they're done, they look kinda brown and roasted. Mmmmmmmmm. BEST salmon I ever ate!

Melissa,
Sorry you weren't able to be there last night. We missed you.
Was Chicago Great?? I haven't seen it yet!

Bad bad storms here last night and the lightening was frightening!! My whole bedroom was lighting up!

Sorry I was late for the party last night. Sounds like it was lots of fun.
