DH and me had a great cruise out of NYC to Bermuda. Our cruise was on October 24, 2018.
My DH’s Law office is in Brooklyn so we parked over there and took our first Uber to the port. Our poor arrival time was scheduled for one to 1:30 PM and we were on the ship by about 1:25PM. We Headed straight to our room which was ready on deck six, Cabin number 6542. The room look great we settle down a little and head up to Cabana’s for lunch.
The weather was pretty nice. It was about 55° and sunny. It made me look forward to the 74 to 76° weather That awaited us in Bermuda. I have been really worrying about the weather for the past two weeks but it didn’t disappoint. Our first day in Bermuda was about 74 to 75° and partly cloudy, however later in the day there was not a cloud in the sky and it was beautiful. CM’s I met when I was boarding the ship around 5 PM on the first full day in Bermuda, told me that the previous cruise had to cancel the evening excursions due to weather. Our evening whether the first full day in Bermuda was gorgeous. So everyone who planned those rum cruises and late-night Bermuda triangle cruises had great weather.
OK back to the cruise and Day one. I had scheduled a Fire and Ice pedicure for 6:15 PM that night since we had second seating for dinner. This was our Six Disney cruise, so we skipped the deck party. My husband had to the gym and I enjoyed the Sail Away from our balcony. I believe we didn’t leave till after 5 PM, because we weren’t completely under the Verrazano bridge when I headed up to the Senses Spa for my appointment.
If anybody could help me out with how to load photos. It seems that sometimes I can and other times I am told that the file is too big. I was able to load three photos to the boards before we left New York last week. But when I try to load some photos from Bermuda It was a no go. And I’ve been trying to load some pictures to the Dis boards since I have been home.
My Spa treatment was tremendous. The pedicure was great and my toes look fantastic. Khadine from Jamaica took care of me. I did purchase at Elemis Japanese Oil that she used on me and recommended. I love it. I’ve been using it since the cruise. It was a little pricey but well worth it.
Our dining assignment was ARLAR. DH and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. I had called DCL and requested a table to ourselves. I have done this on the past few cruises and had no problems. However on her first night at AP we were led to our table and I believe it was a table for eight. Lucky for us no one was seated yet and I asked right away to have a table for ourselves. Hasan one of the heads servers took care of as right away and we were seated at an empty table. In fact they were several empty tables in our area. So, I think our Servers did not mine that one of their empty tables was filled. Our servers were Hilash and Cornel. The two of them did a terrific job. My husband was quite impressed by Hilash. On more than one occasion he began to serve my husband one of the courses and looked at it and wasn’t satisfied. He would tell my husband that he wasn’t satisfied and it would be right back. Within minutes my husband was presented with a beautiful plate of food. Overall, the The food was pretty good. My main complaint would be that often things were warm not hot. AP’s menu is OK. We really liked the pretzel bread at RT and we really enjoyed the second night there. We didn’t see the movie Tangled and the show was nice but we enjoyed the quiet and the second night. At RT the first night we both have the Flynn Rider and it was good, but the second night we had the chicken schnitzel and really enjoyed that. At Lumiere’s we both had the pasta with shrimp and lobster, it was hot and very yummy. I think that was probably your favorite maincourse on the cruise.
