DH and me had a great cruise out of NYC to Bermuda. Our cruise was on October 24, 2018.

My DH’s Law office is in Brooklyn so we parked over there and took our first Uber to the port. Our poor arrival time was scheduled for one to 1:30 PM and we were on the ship by about 1:25PM. We Headed straight to our room which was ready on deck six, Cabin number 6542. The room look great we settle down a little and head up to Cabana’s for lunch.

The weather was pretty nice. It was about 55° and sunny. It made me look forward to the 74 to 76° weather That awaited us in Bermuda. I have been really worrying about the weather for the past two weeks but it didn’t disappoint. Our first day in Bermuda was about 74 to 75° and partly cloudy, however later in the day there was not a cloud in the sky and it was beautiful. CM’s I met when I was boarding the ship around 5 PM on the first full day in Bermuda, told me that the previous cruise had to cancel the evening excursions due to weather. Our evening whether the first full day in Bermuda was gorgeous. So everyone who planned those rum cruises and late-night Bermuda triangle cruises had great weather.

OK back to the cruise and Day one. I had scheduled a Fire and Ice pedicure for 6:15 PM that night since we had second seating for dinner. This was our Six Disney cruise, so we skipped the deck party. My husband had to the gym and I enjoyed the Sail Away from our balcony. I believe we didn’t leave till after 5 PM, because we weren’t completely under the Verrazano bridge when I headed up to the Senses Spa for my appointment.

If anybody could help me out with how to load photos. It seems that sometimes I can and other times I am told that the file is too big. I was able to load three photos to the boards before we left New York last week. But when I try to load some photos from Bermuda It was a no go. And I’ve been trying to load some pictures to the Dis boards since I have been home.

My Spa treatment was tremendous. The pedicure was great and my toes look fantastic. Khadine from Jamaica took care of me. I did purchase at Elemis Japanese Oil that she used on me and recommended. I love it. I’ve been using it since the cruise. It was a little pricey but well worth it.

Our dining assignment was ARLAR. DH and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. I had called DCL and requested a table to ourselves. I have done this on the past few cruises and had no problems. However on her first night at AP we were led to our table and I believe it was a table for eight. Lucky for us no one was seated yet and I asked right away to have a table for ourselves. Hasan one of the heads servers took care of as right away and we were seated at an empty table. In fact they were several empty tables in our area. So, I think our Servers did not mine that one of their empty tables was filled. Our servers were Hilash and Cornel. The two of them did a terrific job. My husband was quite impressed by Hilash. On more than one occasion he began to serve my husband one of the courses and looked at it and wasn’t satisfied. He would tell my husband that he wasn’t satisfied and it would be right back. Within minutes my husband was presented with a beautiful plate of food. Overall, the The food was pretty good. My main complaint would be that often things were warm not hot. AP’s menu is OK. We really liked the pretzel bread at RT and we really enjoyed the second night there. We didn’t see the movie Tangled and the show was nice but we enjoyed the quiet and the second night. At RT the first night we both have the Flynn Rider and it was good, but the second night we had the chicken schnitzel and really enjoyed that. At RT the first night we both had the Flynn Rider and it was good, but the second night we had the chicken schnitzel and really enjoy that. At Lumiere’s we both had the pasta with shrimp and lobster, it was hot and very yummy. I think that was probably your favorite maincourse on the cruise.

I didn’t realize I posted already. I was about to say to be continued and hopefully I’ll be able to get some photos up because I tooka lot. Some beautiful beach photos. OK be back soon!

Above Horsehoe Bay first full day. Water temp 78 degrees, a bit chilly but I some swimming.

Were you that close to the Statue, or do you just have a good camera? We were too far out last year for me to get such a great shot.

We were not too far away. The problem was the setting sun. I did crop the picture and brighten it. So, it’s like zooming in during editing.

518760D6-1D81-4D57-A9C6-605B52296843.jpeg Our first full day we took a shuttle to Horseshoe Bay Beach. For those going next year, you need to get to the beach. The shuttle was so easy $7 per person each way. The shuttle were parked very close to the port. There were people right when you got off the ship with vest that said, “Ask Me”.

The beach was absolutely beautiful. There are bathrooms with changing rooms and showers. There is a snack bar with hot food, drinks, snacks and ice cream. There is a full service bar. And there is plenty of seating. Prices were high, but probably not worse then WDW.

After sunning and swimming we took a walk down beach to the beautiful coves between the rocks. It’s east up the beach away from the crowds.

There is a small cove just to the right when you first get on the sand. It’s tuck between Some beautiful rocks. No waves, warmer water and Beautiful little fish by some of the rocks. Great place for little kids.

Sand chairs were $15. Two chairs and an umbrella was $40. They also had chaises.

DH and I grab a couple of grilled chicken sandwiches and drinks before heading back to ship.

FYI: Shuttle and Taxis will drop you off right at the entrance to Beach. If you take bus you will have a decent walk down hill to the beach. Uphill on the way back to the bus and it is pretty steep.

We were to Horseshoe Bay 16 years ago and it was unchanged.

Bermuda is really a beautiful place. It’s a bit sophisticated.

After we got back to the ship I took a quick shower and then head out to do a little shopping at the Dockyards. I had been to this area on my last trip to Bermuda. So, I just wanted to shop. I stop in at the Arts Center, the Rum Cake Factory and Glass studio. I also went to mall in the Clock Tower, where I did a lot of shopping. I also stop in the Pharmacy which has souvenirs, food, liquor, as well as, the usual drugstore stuff.

Your pictures are beautiful!
Did you eat at any restaurants on the Island?
I'm so intrigued by The Bermuda Triangle night cruise, we have to do that.
Horseshoe bay looks like a must!
I love sailing out of NYC.

No we did not get a chance to eat at any restaurant. We did the 5 hour island tour and even though we were given 30 minutes to explore Hamilton and St. George on those stops, it really wasn’t enough time to eat at restaurant or a quick service.

If we had 3 day on the island than I would have definitely went to dinner one night. There are a couple of resort that have restaurants where you can eat on the beach, toes in the sand. Very romantic dinners. Maybe next time.

We did dine out a lot on our first visit to Bermuda. We are at the Frog and Onion, which is a Pub at the Dockyard. And if memory serves me, it was very good.

We were on board the Magic when the Bermuda releases came out and I was so excited.
We skipped this years offerings because of a new grandson and my commitment to watch him when my daughter in law went back to work.
I gave them a year to rebuild their time off and I will be off again in Feb. for Panama Canal, then Sept. for Bermuda and Hawaii in 2020.
I am so attached to him though, I will probably drive my husband nuts when I go on and on that I miss him so much. He will tell me a 14 night cruise was your idea.
My two older ones are mad that they can't miss school and come along.
Grandma needs a little break!

bbnn1122, on debarkation day, was Cabanas open for breakfast. I have heard many times on you tube sites that Cabanas is an alternative to the very early breakfast assignments for people with first seating. However, when looking at Navigator for the last day on recent Bermuda sailings, Cabanas is not listed as being open. 6:45am is awfully early to get little kids up & to breakfast.

We ate in the MDR, but I did look on the Navigator and no mention. I forgot to ask about it. I was curious too.

We were on deck 6 forward and Cabanas is on Deck 9 Aft. We didn’t want to get all the way up there with our bags to find it was not open.

Disembarkment was on Deck 3 and we were at Rapunzels for breakfast on the same deck, so that made it easier.
