As silly as it seems, it works! My Mom was an elementary librarian and my brother and sister were/are horrible spellers. This particular tome spells the word the way you would think it should be spelled, and then shows the correct way. Makes it much easier to look up a word you can't spell!

But, it is appalling that there are people teaching (both in schools and as home-school parents) who can't spell, or write a cohesive sentence, or balance a checkbook. It is downright scary!
Briarmom, sorry it's been a crappy move for you--you could go on Atkins and drink all the hard liquor you want.
But see... here is where Miss Brenda's intelligence rears its lovely head! She uses spell check! And probably has a dictionary somewhere near, isn't afraid to ask someone if she is correct and very likely has an order into Barnes and Noble as we speak...
Although I always order from Amazon, as their books are cheaper. I always have an order in with them!
