This is a wonderful label and their wines are good!!! We like their red too! ::yes::

PinotEvil2.jpg

And no one is helping me drink this bottle. It is too hot to eat. Not a good combination. Must find food. Soon.

That is an awesome label! :rotfl2:

See No Evil. Hear No Evil. Speak No Evil. Pee No Evil. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Elin, I linked to your pre-trippie on the first page of this thread and posted a howdy on yours as well.

I think we did come up with a name for ours while we were out speed walking the neighborhood, but I'm going to wait until Tuesday morning plays out and I know what our final plans are going to be.

So excited!

Thanks for the link, Brenda. :goodvibes

I hope your TR has a more creative title than mine, but that was as good as it got! :rotfl2: I can't wait either!

Jamie, how could you leave us hanging like this!!! I love German food, and the closest German restaurant is an 1 hour away and in Chapel Hill, so it's always packed with obnoxious college kids! I need to live vicariously through you....

I just posted the end of it up a little ways. Now you can have sweet dreams of schnitzel! :rotfl2: I went to grad school in Chapel Hill, so I am jealous you are so close. Although, I'm sure I would think the college students were obnoxious now, too, in my old age! I used to love to go to Mariakakis, the Greek place, when I was living there just for the Arabic bread.

Not too wordy and I find you entertaining! :goodvibes

Thank you, Elin!

That label cracked me up when I saw it!

Yes, you were posting the end just as I was begging you to finish! Great minds think alike!:rotfl: And I have to admit that even when I was a college student, I found other college students obnoxious, so I'm probably not a good judge!

Has anyone else seen the ad for the new Food Network show, "What Would Brian Boitano make?". Now, I love Brian Boitano and think he is a fine skater, but I am puzzled as to why we would wonder what he would be making for dinner. In fact, on a list of people about whose culinary skills I would be curious, Brian Boitano is pretty far down for me.....:confused3

Brenda, I think you will continue to hold the title for quite a long time!

Eeeeeeuuuuuuwwww!!! I'm glad I didn't read this last night while I still had the taste of that stuff in my mouth.

I don't know if we've tried that! I haven't been impressed with any of the Rose we've had. Although I do like sparkling Rose, but the non-bubbly stuff all taste like white zinfadel to me.

I hadn't heard that rumor. I'd be happy about both of those changes, I think.

Sounds yummy! Can't wait to hear more.

WHAT no cold duck!! Shoots that's what I was planning on bringing to our Cake Meet! ;)

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: That is hilarious!!

Make sure it's PINK cold duck... :rotfl:

Has anyone ever shipped anything down to their resort? I have some "party favors" for October that I want to have available on the 17th but I don't want to pack them into our luggage. Could I ship them out a couple of days before we arrive at the BCV and would they arrive OK? Do I have to do something special or let the front desk know?

We ship stuff all the time... wine, Christmas decorations and gifts, snacks and cookies, etc.! It is who you use to ship that matters. If you send it one way it goes to the resort, if you send it another it ends up in some central shipping area and then has to be delivered. I will go back and see which way is the "right" one! :rotfl:

Did you use the hotel's address and then put your name on it? Will the desk call once it arrives or will they just deliver it? Sorry to ask so many questions ... just trying to figure out the best way to do this and so that I'll know what to expect.

I can't help being anal ... it's what I do. :rotfl2:

Bendy... Ship right to the hotel... mark on the outside of the box your date of arrival and also "HOLD FOR ARRIVAL"... Make sure that you ship it in a way that you can track it... UPS or Fed Ex... ship it in a time zone (day wise - 2 day, etc... not Eastern, Central...) where you will meet it at the resort...

ALSO... I do believe they are now charging $10 for boxes being shipped to the resorts... (WDW is...)

Thank you all for the good thoughts! :goodvibes

We did go down to the ER around 10pm to bring dinner to FIL, why he didn't eat before he left the house :confused3 Anyways.....Thankfully she went early enough that they caught it before it turned really bad. She has a history of perforated bowel issues and we were nervous. It's diverticulitis, but in the part of her bowel that doesn't get used (has a colostomy from previous problems), also a raging UTI. A round of nasty antibiotics and she should be fine :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that meds can help... I still would have brought the wine... ;)

Michelle - some resorts are charging, and yes... add "hold for arrival" to your name and reservation date. I think it works best if you ship UPS, not USPS.

Can't take credit for it ... that was TDC Nala's brilliant name for it. :rotfl2:

Ok... whisper in my ear... what's Palmhenge?

May I just say ... this pinot grigio is damned tasty and makes scrubbing the bathrooms so much more enjoyable. :rotfl2:

I also love knowing that I have two more days off from work ... ahhhhhh, laziness ... I loves it! :thumbsup2

Gets rid of soap scum?

:rotfl2:

no wine tonight, but a Klondike bar is calling my name

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

(I have got to work on being less wordy and more entertaining, if I'm going to do a trip report!)

BE WORDY!!! how else am I gonna sit here and dream of schnitzel?

That is an awesome label! :rotfl2:

Oh, so you're going with a Pointer Sisters theme this year?

Not unless there's a triple lutz inbetween courses...

I know the Grand is... but it's a convention hotel... just be prepared for it anyway... :upsidedow

Thanks for the tips about shipping down to WDW ... I will probably call the Beach Club and ask someone there. And then I will keep calling back until I've gotten the same answer from at least three CMs. ;)

Yes, I shipped it to the hotel's address and then put stickers on every side of the package that said: Please hold for Alison XXXXX, Reservation 123456789, Arrival Date: xx/xx/xxxx. Never had a problem. Shipped Christmas trees, miscellaneous stuff and even my wedding dress (pretty much everything you can think of) and never had a problem.

Case of beer?

For those of you booking what events are you going to be shooting for?

We definitely want to try for BlueZoo (heck, at this rate maybe it'll just be everyone from our thread there!) :rotfl: I'm having to pare down my other F&W urges since we are going several times and then will be spending over two weeks at Disney for Christmas. Must spread the wallet siphoning stuff out.

It is not particularly clever, but I started my Pre-Trip report. The link is beside my name in my signature. :goodvibes

I'm headed over there in a minute!

Sorry about the commercial interruption, but here is the rest of dinner!

Entrees we tried:

Jaeger Schnitzel This was my entree of pork schnitzel served with Kartoffelbrei (German fried potatoes) and red cabbage. Can I just say YUM!! I had no idea what to expect, but this was a huge (as big as both my hands) cutlet of pork that was very tender and crispy. The wine sauce was very mild and I only saw two mushrooms amidst the onions. The fried potatoes were made with bacon and green onions and were worth every bite of the dieting downfall. I did actually try the cabbage, which would usually be a big YUCK for me....it was not too bad, a little sweet and was good in tiny bites with the schnitzel. Half of this came home with us, it was so big.

Paprika Schnitzel This was DH's entree and it was HOT and SPICY! The meat was prepared the same was mine, but was covered in a sauce that seemed to have several different kinds of peppers in it. This was hotter than jalepenos, so I don't know what they used but he loved it. One bite sent me gasping for my water! He, too, had the fried potatoes and cauliflower. It was just caulifower and was left lonely on the plate at the end. DH had no schnitzel left to contribute to the leftover box.

Heuhnerschnitzel My aunt ordered chicken schnitzel, no sauce, and pronounced it very good. None of these schnitzels were greasy at all, just nice and crunchy with the right amount of breading. She thought this was very tasty and had ordered it with the cabbage and German potato salad. I tried a bite of the potato salad and it had a definite bite of vinegar, but still a nice flavor. This is the only kind of potato salad I will even try since it is warm, and has no mayo. My mom makes it by mashing the potatoes first, so this tasted similar. I think the restaurant used a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar in theirs, which was better than plain white vinegar.

Wiener Strauss Fancy name for dd's pan fried hot dog (sans bun) served with french fries. She also tried my schnitzel and liked it without the sauce, so next time she may be a little braver in her choice.

And the ending star of the show was the Apple Strudel with vanilla ice cream and a caramel and chocolate swirl on top. Absolutely to die for. Warm, sweet apples, raisins and cranberries in homemade crust that just melted in your mouth. The four of us split one and I felt like I could split by the end of the meal. We will definitely be back! And I promise pictures if I review another meal!

(I have got to work on being less wordy and more entertaining, if I'm going to do a trip report!)

Everything sounds delicious! Don't worry about being wordy...I'm a long winded gal myself. I appreciate in depth descriptions!

I'm with you-I could care less what Brian Boitano is whipping up. I don't get the appeal at all.

Case of beer?

Well...no beer, but wine, lots and lots of wine! ;) Don't even ask me how much is in my owner's locker!

Thank you all for the good thoughts! :goodvibes

Glad to hear that this wasn't something really serious. Fred had a colostomy and reversal years ago so the diverticulitis is always lurking in the background. When that kicks up its rough. Hope your MIL is feeling back to normal soon.

Hey friendies! If you're looking for a food porn fix check out my blog ... I just updated with a post about our sushi dinner at Wasabi last weekend. And for good measure I included my funny Dairy Queen story.

The gastropod link is in my siggie ... thanks for taking a look! :goodvibes

Good Morning! I have not checked in lately...busy week last week taking my oldest DS to camp and I had my mother here. I hope everyone is doing well.

Brenda, I recd the buttons...they look great! Thank you again...

Since this thread is all about food and drink...look who I met this weekend...Buddy the "Cake Boss"!
