Have a great day all! I will try to check back soon to catch up...if that is possible!

Lauren

That's too cool - we met Buddy last year at PFTS and he was very nice. His dessert was boring as all get out, but that's OK.

Glad to know you're still checking in with us and I'm happy you like the buttons - they really turned out great! :goodvibes

I also want to thank Catherine again for a great F&W design for the button! :thumbsup2

DITTO!!!

That's so cool. I love this guy!

Tomorrow is the day!!!!

As you can tell, I'm very excited for booking the F&W ressies:banana::banana: We are going to be there from 10/23-11/4, staying at BLT. We have several guests joining us, a couple for the first weekend and DD for the second weekend. We are responsible for getting all of the ressies.

Here's the plan:
10/24-POTS
10/25-V&A's signature dinner
10/29-California Grill Signature dinner
10/30-Cat Cora's Family celebration
10/30-Tequila tasting
10/31-POTS

Whew, as you can tell, lots of ressies to make. DD is in charge of 2, DH of 2 and me. 2. There will be 3 cell lines and 2 land lines of phones going at 6:00am.:scared1::scared1: We will be prepared!!!

I have been working very hard for this. Since we are confessing about weight, I just lost 35 pounds:banana::banana: but, I have another 35 to go:sad2: So, hopefully this will continue to motivate me, knowing I have lots of good things ahead.

Hey Alison ... how's Drew doing? :goodvibes

He's having a blast. They have done some visits to local farms and he's regaled me with tales from some of his lectures, which include in depth analysis of salt and herbs at the moment. (That just sounds SOOOO exciting, doesn't it?) :rotfl: The poor child has been subjected to eating low class college food. :rolleyes1 So far his dinners have included black bass bouillabaisse, grilled shrimp, beef on some sugared skewers, korean BBQ ribs, foie gras with poached pear and scallops au gratin. Those are what I can recall off the top of my head although there is much more. Quite a change from the meals they offered when I was at college. I think he is relishing being on his own. He has a room all to himself so he feels like a king. Meanwhile, I'm a home feeling as though my right arm has been cut off. :sad1:

Ya know ... on the days that I'm up early and headed to work it seems like there are all kinds of cool shows on the History Channel or classic old movies running on AMC that I'd love to curl up on the couch and watch for a while.

So here I am ... taking today and tomorrow off from work and it's a vast wasteland. :rotfl2:

I have other things to do, but I overslept because we had some storms roll through around 2AM and I can't sleep through stormy weather ... so I made it up by not getting out of bed until 8AM today. Now I'm just slowly enjoying my coffee and wishing there was someone here to chat with.

Seems like everyone is always gone when I have time to play around on the DIS. :sad1:

That's a far cry from the slop I ate in college! Foie gras with poached pears ... I'm drooling on myself and it's not pretty. :rotfl2:

I'm glad he's doing well. I'm sure it must be hard for you to have him gone, though.

Jamie ... have you started a trippie yet? Be sure to leave us some breadcrumbs so we can find you and then I can link to you on the first page of this thread.

We need pictures!! :thumbsup2

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I had to do a google search to find out who this was. I obviously don't watch too much TLC. I just checked out his website and he does awesome work. That is really cool that you ran into him.

OK ... these have nothing to do with food but they are a riot, especially if you are up on your history. The language gets a little rough now and then, but I think these are terrific and I am especially amused that they are using soundtracks from Cold Mountain and The Legends of the Fall. I hope you enjoy! :rotfl2:

Drunk History, Volume I
Drunk History, Volume II
Drunk History, Volume III
Drunk History, Volume IV

I was cracking up over the Ben Franklin one. It was so wrong, but hysterical. :rotfl2:

Yeah and the kicker is that all that food is in addition to the stuff he cooks that he also gets to eat. At the same time we are now starving at home. Each night me and Fred look at each other and go back and forth with the "what do you want to eat?" "I don't know, what do you want to eat?" and we continue until we both just say to heck with it and flip open a bag of cheese curls, which consequently is still open and on the kitchen table as I type. I'm eyeballing it for a late breakfast.

I was having issues posting last night, just testing. :)

Tomorrow is the day!!!!
I'm glad I have to be up to call Disney anyway since I have to be at work early tomorrow, and getting to call Disney first will actually get me up on time, and in a good mood. I'm pretty sure the only thing I'm booking will be Party for the Senses.

I ate pretty well in college. Of course I went to culinary school, and didn't live in a dorm, so was never forced to eat in the college cafeteria, and was able to cook whatever in the house I lived in.

Okay, where's all your food porn? ;) I had no idea you were a chef.

My plan is to try to actually start sometime today....the pictures are downloaded onto the computer and I just have to get them on Photobucket. I'll let you guys know first thing and then someone will have to show me how to put a link in my signature that's actually the name of the trip (which has yet to be named! HA)

We're tying for the following:

Bluezoo dinner 10/16
Tutto Italia pairing 10/17
Tequila Tasting 10/23

Flying Fish dinner 10/15 will be our second signature dinner choice if we can't nab Todd's joint.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :goodvibes

Good luck Brenda! I am rooting for you and Lori to get the BlueZoo dinner. Can't wait to hear about it. We are coming in that morning and thought since our flights have already been cancelled and rebooked once (thank you American ) that we wont risk 2 x $185.00 even if we could get it, incase American changes stuff on us again! We will be at Flying Fish wondering what Mr. English is cooking up for you! :goodvibes
