Sorry I wasn't around to chat last night, B... I'm just old and my Lazy Boy with heat & massage was calling to me. :cloud9: I popped a nice bottle of champagne and added a little Chambord and that's all she wrote. ;) I watched Knowing... that movie with Nicolas Cage... eh... it was OK... I should have been watching Pride & Prejudice instead. :thumbsup2 We LOVE that movie (OK, the girls love that movie - the boys make fun of it - they bring up the P&P zombies book & say that IT should be a movie!)

:dance3: Oh, I get to check in for Bay Lake Tower today... :yay: just waiting for them to put the online check in button up on the Member Services site! :surfweb:

Now if I could just be home to enjoy it!:rotfl2:

Sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

I just wanted to say that I love your signature line...

Marriage should be a balanced stalemate between equal adversaries.

That pretty much sums up me & Steve. LOL! :lmao:

Looks great to me! The only thing that I would suggest is that if you do get Sweet Sundays... you might not be ready for tea at 2pm. You might want to move that back to 3 or 4. We just added Afternoon Tea to our August trip... with the men! Won't they be surprised! LOL! I love the tea room... :lovestruc

Remember this?

When I first showed it to Jay he asked if he was supposed to be the piggy. I told him, no; it's each of us embracing our inner pig.

Then this morning he decided that it's really supposed to be him (or me or you or anyone) giving the Swine Flu a noogie. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I know... the schedule looks a little tight there...

My daughter wanted to know (if anyone knows) if you can get seconds on the desserts at Sweet Sundays... (I think I raised a sweet tooth...lol!) I actually wanted to know if Sweet Sundays is worth the $80 pp? Who's been, and is it good? I would love to get some more info on this!

I know at the one we attended a few years ago there were not seconds on any dessert - most of them are made in advance of the cooking demos and pre-plated, so they make a set number based on attendance.

When we attended it was $60 per person ... a better price point I think. I really wanted to do one this year but at $80 per person or $160 per couple plus tax ... not gonna happen. For $160 we can have a nice dinner at Citricos or Jiko.

True, didn't think of it that way... maybe we'll do a dinner at Bluezoo or Flying Fish... OR go to the spa that morning, after breakfast at GFC. Hum, got my mind going!!!! (thanks Brenda!)

The Mandara Spa at the Dolphin is divine ... the best one we've ever visited.

And I don't think you could go wrong with dinner at either Flying Fish or Bluezoo ... the two best seafood joints on property. :thumbsup2

We were lucky enough on one trip to NOLA to have dinner and lunch at CP ... different days of course, even Jay and I can't manage to do that kind of digestive damage in one day. :lmao:

When we had lunch there we took my parents and my mother was horrified that we ordered a bottle of wine with lunch. Alcohol is supposed to be an evening kind of thing. ;)

We had milk punch with breakfast one morning in NOLA and I thought the poor woman was going to faint right there at the table. :rotfl2:

I posted a few pictures of the Sweet Sundays we attended last year in the F&W thread...

Sweet Sundays

We've been to 3, and all have been good, except for the now famous 'stunt cookie' which we won't talk about. ;)

I believe the price was still $60 last year - I don't know if I would pay $80/person unless it was someone I really wanted to see. No, they don't bring extra desserts... but I've never asked. They do, however, refill your Prosecco...

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Let's hope none of us is in the 40% of the US public they are predicting will get it! I have two friends who have traveled recently; one to Chile and one to WDW. Both of them and their families contracted swine flu and were quarantined.

I hope none of us gets it either. My biggest vacation fear this fall isn't hurricanes but a flu outbreak. It's a little troubling to me that it's still cropping up in the summer months ... that's a similar pattern to the Spanish Influenza outbreak during 1918-1919. I don't mention that to be an alarmist but I do like to be aware ... and if I'd pursued my second passion / fascination I would have gone to medical school to study / research diseases. I'm fascinated by that kind of stuff. Weird, I know. ;)

Elin ... did your friends get sick at all? If so are they recovered now? How long were they quarantined?

I hope your friends all made a full recovery. :flower3: The last day I was in Seattle (23rd) there were continuous news stories that the swine flu vaccine was going to be tested there. (One of I don't know how many centers.) The testing was to start in Aug--2 shots, follow up blood draws for x weeks. They were working hard to get the word out, and get the testing underway.

color me suspicious ... I was under the impression that it could take upwards of six months for an effective vacation to be produced. And although I was very young duing the last swine flu outbreak I remember that my mom refused to have me or herself vacinated because of all the reports of serious side effects from the vaccine. I can't remember exactly what the problem was with the vaccine but it put egg all over the face of the Carter administration for a while.

I think I'll take my chances and see what happens without getting a shot ... I never get flu shots even though I know I should with all my immune system issues. I'm already taking enough stuff on a daily basis ... I don't really want anymore even if it's only a single dose once a year.

And so ... if I do come down with it you can all throw my post back in my face later this year. :lmao:

That's one of the things I'm worried about most with Jordan working in WDW this fall... she'll be exposed to all sorts of germs, including swine flu, everyday. :scared: How bad did your friends get with the flu?

I'd be concerned, too. And in her case I would say that if an effective vaccine were available by then she should get a shot just because she will be around so many people on a daily basis.

Does she know what her assignment is going to be?

You're too kind. I just think it's funny that everyone is able to talk during the day and then I come home and there's no one around. :rotfl2: It's probably a sign that I should get off my duff and work off some calories. ;)

I showed the button to a friend of mind at work today and she thought it was terrific!

I mailed four small packages of buttons today so those of you who contacted me ... please let me know when they arrive and what you think! :goodvibes
Sorry Brenda, I had work last night, otherwise I would've been on the DIS. (Well, actually Friday night, I probably would've made plans, LOL.) But if I got to choose between work and the DIS, the DIS would win every time.

OMG ... someone posted this on the dining boards and I had to copy the link and share it with you guys. It's a riot and only the Disney Dining Devotees would understand ..

Hitler Tries to Make an ADR for Le Cellier:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
LMAO. There's another Epcot one where he's very upset about Dreamfinder, and another one where he has to go to Universal because he's not allowed on Disney property.

Okay, that makes it a little less odd....but it would still have freaked me out a little!

Here's the recipe:

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake (makes 8 servings)

1 1/4 c. granulated sugar, divided
1 c. all purpose flour
7 tbsp cocoa powder, divided
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c milk
1/3 c butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 c hot water

Heat oven to 350. In large bowl, stir together 3/4 c sugar, flour, 3 tbsp cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla; beat until smooth. Spoon batter into 8" or 9" square baking pan. Stir together remaining 1/2 c sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 4 tbsp cocoa; sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. DO NOT STIR. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool 15 minutes and then dig in!
Sounds good, and I always have all those ingrediants on hand, so may have to try it.

TYVM! So far so good. I figure I had better do a good job with him because I'll need him to take care of me in my twilight years! If nothing else, I should be eating well. :rotfl:
Started reading the blog too. I read his bio, and he did sound very mature, at least until I got to the part where he "kicks his sister's butt" at Guitar hero. LOL. :rotfl:

I know there are some Pride & Predjudice fans here ... have any of you seen the latest movie which I believe was released in 2005? It stars Keira Knightly ... I really really like this one. It's a bit more rustic setting and the girls are a little younger but it's a delightful adaptation ... and the musical score is lovely. :goodvibes
I've seen it! Good movie.

You mean 25 cent martinis aren't an excuse in and of themselves!?!:lmao: Well, according to my calendar, Parents Day is coming up (whatever the heck that is)....and you are a parent, right?:thumbsup2
Sounds like a good excuse to me!

Jay and I both majored in history in college ... my area of "expertise" is the American Civil War. We actually spent our honeymoon in Gettysburg and Williamsburg.

Do you know how many people at our reception were bored and disappointed by that response to the question: Where are you going on your honeymoon?

:rotfl2:
I've been meaning to get to Gettysburg all summer, since I have a standing invitation to visit someone there. But I wouldn't be seeing the historical stuff, I'd be at her pool, playing with her puppies, and drinking. :goodvibes

Oh, dear sweet Lord. In the 24 hours in which I have not been on the DIS, we have a new thread, which is now up to nine pages.

I'm done for! :lmao:

Once I catch up, I'll comment, but in the mean time, everyone have a great weekend! :goodvibes
I went to work and am five pages behind.

I keep on hearing it's going to get worse in the fall. And I kept on thinking at least I don't have a trip planned. Of course now I'm going, so watch me get it.
