Resort credit question

Hello,

I have a one night reservation in April that I modified from a one night that I didn't need last week. When I modified it I could only get expensive rooms and for some reason had an $11 room credit. I am not sure where that came from, but didn't really think too much of it, thinking I would definitely spend $11 in the 2 days. I was hoping for a less expensive room and checked frequently and an All Star room popped up for $165 less, so I grabbed it. The guy on the phone told me it would be refunded to my credit card in 7-10 business days, but didn't seem real confident in things he was telling me. It is showing up in MDE as -$165. I am more concerned about spending $165 in the short time I am there if it doesn't end up getting refunded to the CC, so I have a few questions.

1. Would anything left from that get refunded after the stay?
2. If it won't get refunded, could I buy a gift card with it?
3. If I add the dining plan for the night (I am an annual passholder and was told I could add it up to a day prior when I originally booked the more expensive room), will it come from that resort credit?

1. Yes it should refund to the original form of payment
2. No you cannot buy a gift card as you cannot charge gift cards to your room

But none of that matters because you’ve requested a refund now. If the refund does not post in the given timeframe call Disney and they’ll track it down. Refunds from Disney to my cc have taken around a week, but it’s dependent on the card issuer.

I’ll add that I usually see an”pending” credit from WDW in whatever amount (I usually get this fairly frequently as I frequently change resort reservations prior to a trip). It takes about a week before the pending moves over to the full credit. But as mentioned above, you can’t spend it it, it’s been refunded to the original payment method.

But, I had a credit after modifying a one night stay at Movies online. After 3 weeks, I hadn’t gotten the credit refunded to my cc.

I ended up calling Disney to get it refunded. It sounded like there was some extra step the rep had to do to get the refund actually processed.

Yeah you have to call if you want a refund instead of a folio credit.
