Affinois Brie, New Zealand Cheddar and Rembrandt aged Gouda. Nice glass of wine. Wonderful dinner!

Holy crap, even the Redskins won. They didn't deserve to though. Well, the defense deserved to, the offense is truly offensive.

In this case they deserved to win. Anyone who loses to the Lambs should be kicked out of the NFL. :rotfl2:

TJs was out of goat brie so I have some light brie. will break it out to watch Iron Chef. And I think I now have enough portable soup cans to take to work until Columbus Day which is the next day I can do any shopping.

Mmmm, brie.

I'm looking forward to Columbus Day because then I will be released from the hell that is my job right now for two whole glorious weeks, plus 1 stinking day! :lmao:

I just updated the blog with our late lunch at Wapango from Labor Day weekend ... it's a Latin American fusion type place and I suspect something I ate there really annoyed the goblin since I ended up being sicker than a dog for the rest of the weekend.

Still, the food was good and we took some tasty pictures for you to enjoy.

Check it out if you have time! :thumbsup2

where is everyone? Did I frighten you all off again? ...

I've had to neglect the boards in favor of training for my new job. I'm all trained now though. It made that last week go by so fast, and I can't believe I'm taking a red-eye to Florida on Wednesday night.:cool1:

I'm gonna need those margaritas after working 10 days in a row.:rotfl:

Good Monday Friendies!!

I am looking for a good recipe for Gingerbread!! I have a wonderful one for the cookies but need the pan one.

I tried one out yesterday but it flopped. :upsidedow It sank in the middle during cooking. Tasted ok, maybe too much clove though.

So, if anyone has a killer recipe they wouldn't mind sharing, I would be thrilled.

Thanks!!

Brenda..that hazard to the Chrohn latin spot looked AMAZING!!!! That was a very cool presentation of appetizer goodies..i would order that for my meal..yum!:)

Well..it is officially less than 3 weeks until my wedding!! I am pumped! We went to one this Saturday that was loads of fun..they had super yummy passed hoover doovers...one of them was the GINORMOUS grilled tiger shrimp with some sort of zippy sauce, one was a teeny little half of a potato with a piece of lobster and some other sauce on it ( it tasted like a lobster bake in a bite..YUM!), mini quiche, spanikopita and instead of the usual cheese/cracker station..they did a yummy HUGE baked brie with raspberry..very nice change of pace :) The meal itself was very good..we had a lobster chowder, signature salad that was beautifully presented, filet of beef with grilled shrimp..the beef was a bit overcooked for me, but then again , i like my meat Stop-Sign red...and then a VERY yummy dish of vanilla bean ice cream with strawberry flambe over it...i do have pics of the main course and the salad and chowder that i will have to share when i download the pics :)

I can't believe it's less than three weeks away, you must be super excited!!! Gosh, that wedding food sounds amazing!:thumbsup2

Back from our adventures, now let the Food and Wine countdown begin in earnest! I was smiling when I hopped over to the Restaurant Board and found the pics of the kiosks. Doesn't take much to make me happy!

Thanks for posting, makes me very happy too!:goodvibes

Sheryl ... we're pretty sure we are going to pack the booze and such into a third suitcase. We are flying Southwest so the extra bag isn't an issue. Also, most of the minis will be in sandwich baggies and then packed tightly into the treasure chest, so we're not worred about it leaking into our clothes or grab-bag presents. I'm mostly concered that TSA is going to freak out when the bag goes through screening. :rotfl2:

Haha! I'm sure that TSA has seen scarier things than your suitcase full of mini liqour bottles!

blissventure, Thanks for posting the link to the food booth pics! It makes me happy all over just looking at them! Getting really excited about next month!

Gina, Only 3 weeks before your big day!!! :cool1: It's nice to hear that you're excited & not stressing! :goodvibes That proves your not one of those bridezillas! :thumbsup2 Our family just went through a wedding with a bride that the word bridezilla does not even come close to describing! She was just plain ole scary!:scared1:

Oh no!! A 'Zilla!! I thankfully have never had one that i have known personally..but i have heard HORROR stories! I am seriously not at all stressed..a bit tired from running around for appointments and dance lessons and keeping everything together but other than that i am good! We are both pretty pumped..and REALLY can't wait for the fun of the rehersal--big day and honeymoon..we have a great one lined up and i am fully intending on enjoying..which means LOTS of fun food pics when we get back heehee :)

My favorite chicken is one with a can up it's butt! ;)Yesterday we had my version of Beer Can Chicken which is a soda can filled with white wine & herbs.

I also made a Sourdough French Boule. Here's a pic, my DN was quite happy when the bread came out of the oven! She's a big bread lover.

The whole loaf was gobbled up yesterday so I did another today. A little different version a No Knead Sourdough.
