Bendy-Friendies V.4 ... Drinks-A-Plenty with a Side Order of Tasty Food!!!

I was very sad to hear that Sheryl found a lost button ... :sad2: ... here I thought everyone treasured them as much as Jay and I. ;)

Well I am keeping the poor little fella until someone claims him!

I just realized I forgot to pay you for the buttons! My plan was to buy you a drink, but everywhere we ended up together the booze was already pre-paid & flowing. I will put that in the mail to you tomorrow! Sorry!

My button and I will be making a return trip to F&WF in a couple weeks! I have the button on the strap of my messenger bag and I couldn't believe all the attention it got!! :thumbsup2 So many people admired it and several even asked if they could take a picture of it!! :goodvibes

I got tons of comments on them too! I had both last year's & this year's on my bag & people kept coming up to me to ask about it! :goodvibes

Did ya check Planky? Ohh wait... he went naked this time... sorry...

:lmao:

Elin, I'm impressed that you grew something that beautiful! :thumbsup2

Tess, I'm going check out your slide show now!

This was my plan as well! Off to get Bendy's address from facebook!

I just realized this is my first post on this new thread. I seriously cannot take it here anymore. Especially during Halloween.:headache:

:hug:Hugs to all the boozys!

By 'here' I don't mean this thread. Just wanted to clarify.

Okay all of you boozers, Let's talk booze!! :goodvibes Holidays are fast approaching & our bar is in sad, sad shape. Unfortunately so is our budget right now.

What essentials do you keep in your bar? I'd like to know what are your favorite basic essential spirits? Also the other items you need to make your favorite drinks, like bitters, etc.? Plus what bar tools do you reach for over & over?

holiday bar must haves:

good quality KY bourbon (Jefferson's; Basil Hayden's, Four Roses Small Batch ... these are a few of our favorite things)

tawny port or a good substitute (Optima Warre 10-year is da bomb and only about $20 ... R L Buller's muscat from Australia is about $13 per bottle and it tastes just like port)

brandy ... for milk punch! We use Napoleon brandy - $11 per bottle at the grocery store.

Love the review on disneyfoodblog!

thanks very much! It was really hard to write for someone else's blog ... I didn't want to get her into trouble or anything so I tried very hard to be tactful. Not an easy thing for me to do. :lmao:

Loved it. And you were very tactful. Unusually restrained, actually. :lmao:

Hopefully they hear your comments! We may end up doing that next year depending on how much our Disneyland trip sets us back (we're still in this debate if we are going to do the Adventures by Disney thing or on our own) We may end up doing Adventures by Disney only to help contain my plans as there is way too much I want to do in California & not enough time to do it all - at least not until I know if my new boss is going to allow me to buy extra vacation time or not.

Thanks... I think! :rotfl2:

Elin, What I meant to say was that "I could never grow something that beautiful & that I am totally impressed by people who can!" :goodvibes

I was also quite impressed with Brenda's review!:thumbsup2 Very restrained indeed! Also impressed that she got all the details while trying hard to have fun! Our presenters took the whole thing way too seriously & didn't make having fun very easy!

Thanks! I really needed some bourbon tips. Like it but never really know what to buy. Also happy that I can get the port at a good price, just haven't experimented enough with it to know.

I'll wait to stock the brandy for when you come to Nola!;) Sad but my stomach just can't handle milk drinks anymore.

Hi all! Sorry I've been AWOL.....I was occupied with work the first three weeks of the month, and then my laptop crashed (and I do mean that literally....it crashed right to the tile floor when I caught my heel on the power cord and pulled it off the desk :lmao:). So I've been working between 2 different desks until I could get a new computer set up in my office, and am now trying to re-create everything I had set up on my laptop, including my iTunes and all my bookmarks.

I am going to attempt to make Jack O'Lantern cake pops tomorrow.....I'll take pictures....either you'll all marvel at how wonderful they look, or you'll get a good laugh at how pitiful they are!:rotfl:

Quick recovery, Miss Sheryl!! :rotfl2: :goodvibes

But actually, I really have nothing to do with that particular bush of flowers in my garden. A student gave me the rose bush 4 years ago and I stuck it in the middle of my garden area and have done nothing to it since then! It is ugly as sin, but the flowers are usually lovely.

Tonight we are going to the Haunted Tastes and Treats event at Potomac Point Winery. It is held in the cask room in their cellar. It is very spooky down there when they finish the decorating! I am looking forward to this again this year. We really had a good time last October.

Here is their menu (but they haven't released the wines they are pairing with these desserts):

Cannoli Sundae
Profiteroles with burnt orange cream and fudge drizzle
Pumpkin chiffon mousse with gingersnap crust
Chocolate flan with coffee caramel

Have a great time Elin ... I'm sure it will be very cool if it's anything like the one you attended last year. I remember those pictures ... :goodvibes

In remember it too, have FUN!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Have a great time!!! :goodvibes

We did! Took my camera and got some nice photos of the barrel room, but the food just didn't turn out nicely again this year. Since it is so dark in there I feel rude using my flash and even with high ISO settings the photos are just not great. Hope to get them up and posted in the morning.
