Thank you for the Halloween wishes!

OK friendies, I need your help! I leave for Disney in 10 days!

So, tell me what food and boozy items I MUST try at the kiosks! What were your favorites? And what should I stay away from?

Thanks!

Loved the pics Elin!

Here's some pics of my Halloween food efforts yesterday....cake pops and a dip. I made some pumpkin swirl brownies too....but I forgot to take pics of them.

Hope everyone got treats and not tricks!

Heather - Those look yummy! Care to share your recipe?

Elin, here are the recipes....they are both unbelievably easy:

Cake Pops:
1 box cake mix (you can choose whatever flavor you like)
1 cup of frosting (you can choose whatever flavor you like)
1 bag of candy melts (you can choose whatever flavor/color you like)
Lollipop sticks

Prepare cake mix per directions on box. Let cake cool completely, and then crumble into a large bowl.

Mix in 1 cup of frosting.....make sure you mix it all in, and don't have any clumps.

Roll mixture into 1 inch balls. Refrigerate for several hours or freeze for 15 minutes until firm. Work with a few balls at a time in order to keep them from warming back up too much.

Melt candy melts in microwave per package directions. Dip end of lollipop stick into melted candy, and then insert about halfway into cake ball. Let set up for a minute, and then dip cake ball into melted candy, covering as much as you can. If you want to add sprinkles, or candy, or anything else, sprinkle it on now. Insert completed cake pop into a styrofoam block and let dry.

One recipe will make around 48 to 50 cake pops.

Spider Dip:

1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup of your favorite salsa
1 pkg prepared guacamole (or make your own version, which is what I did)
A few tablespoons of sour cream

Mix cream cheese and salsa together until smooth. Spread into a 9 inch pie plate.

Spread guacamole on top of salsa/cream cheese mixture, to within an inch of the edge.

Spoon sour cream into a plastic bag....snip off on corner, and use bag to pipe concentric circles on top of guac. Then take a knife, and starting at the center, draw knife down through the circles several times to create the spiderweb pattern.

FYI for anyone interested ... I posted a blog update tonight about the Illuminations Cruise that Jay and I got while we were at WDW. Come take a quick read (it's pretty short) and share the WOW with us! :goodvibes

I knew that you had taken one, just not the circumstances surrounding the cruise. How cool was that?!?!?

Elin we are still trying to figure out what we did to deserve such good fortune. It was definitely a highlight of the trip. :goodvibes

Thats so much fun to get it for free! Definately the right place at the right time magic.

I feel like I haven't been here in forever! We finally decided on dates for CA at Christmas, so now I'm dabbling in planning our two days at Disneyland. I really, really, really just wanted it to be the three of us both days, but my aunt says she thinks my cousin will probably want to take her granddaughter with us one day. I know that sounds selfish, but we found out last year that we do DL better alone!

Shenanigoat, anyone else seen World of Color yet? Worth it?

I'm very excited to see the HM and IASW all gussied up for the holidays! :santa:
