I used to do bellydancing. Okay, I still do it when I have time. :rolleyes1 I have a few instructional DVDs that my dd6 loves to watch. Well, she's actually dancing right now to the beginner DVD...and she's better at it than I am. Should I be worried? :confused3 :rotfl:

Too bad I'm not more motivated right now or I'd join her. It's a lot of fun and a great workout. :teeth:

I always thought it'd be a lot of fun to do. I love to dance as it is, but I would love more confidence to relax in front of people.

If you're asking if you should be worried because your DD is enjoying bellydancing, I'd say no. I've bellydanced for the past few years & my 6YO DD took a class a few summers ago & loved it. When she is 10YO, she can start taking an adult level class & she's already decided she wants to. We'll have to see as she also wants to learn to play the harp, continue ballet lessons & sing in the local girls choir.

I think that bellydancing has given both my kids a fuller picture of the beauty of womens bodies & that they can be beautiful in all shapes & sizes. My studio is very welcoming to all & any issues I've had with my size & dancing have been my own. They also have very high costuming standards & I've never been embarassed by what my kids saw.
