That's awesome! I wish I could make some for this weekend but I'm the only one who will drink it and since I really am trying to decrease in mass I'm just going to say no ... this time. ;)

Crabbie eggs benedict
asparagoose
honey baked ham
babka (I bought 'em from Dean & Deluca so they must be good!)
cheeses as yet to be determined
bird rolls
fresh fruit w/cream sauce
coffee
bloody mary ala Jay
prosecco
coffee cake (homemade by Jon)
tiramisu cake (ordered from the French gourmet bakery by yours truly)

Holy crap that's a lot of food!
We're having ham and scalloped potatoes.
Why? Why I ask you!? Dh wants me to make it. I don't want to make it, I don't like it.:headache: Oh well, it's easy.
We'll also have some sort of bread, green bean casserole , and oreo cookie 'salad'.:rotfl:

I just want to have something different. I have to go to the store today to buy all of our stuff.

In more important (and freaking out) news, we leave for Tokyo in 6 days. :scared1:

I have not even begun to think about a menu for Easter dinner! :rotfl:

I'm getting hungry reading everyone's Easter feast menus! We're pretty boring here. We are going out to eat-it'll be my first Easter OFF! Well, actually we're going nowhere on Easter, but we're celebrating early by going out Saturday night. I'll take lots of food porn pics. Here's where we are going if anyone is interested in taking a poke: http://www.ramsheadinn.com

I voted for my Simpson's stamp favorite! I didn't even know the post office was coming out with those. Very cute! I think Homer has just the right amount of bewilderment...kinda how I look when I'm writing out the bills, so its very appropriate! :rotfl:

Looks like a great place to go, for Easter or any other time, for that matter!

I have to attend a concert at Fairleigh-Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ next month. Do any of the friendlies know of a neat place to go for dinner in that area?

Hey, my dad attended Fairleigh-Dickinson for his masters! That was like over half a century ago though! :rotfl:

I wish I could help with a dinner recommendation, but we don't go up that way very often (Teaneck is about an hour and a half north of us). The area is loaded with good places though, so you won't be able to go very far without stumbling on a really nice place to eat. We drive through the area a lot to take Drew up to college, but we never stop (its right around here that my butt goes numb on the long drive). :rotfl2: Do you use Yelp or Open Table at all? I love those sites and you can always find a good place to eat based on the reviews. We use it when we are going into unfamiliar territory or looking to branch out of our comfort zone here at home.

Chelsi, please tell me more about the bourbon grilled ham--it sounds divine!

We take a regular ham and put our own glaze on.
The Glaze is made of Bourbon, Brown Mustard, Apricot Jelly and other fun stuff. Then Jason puts it on the grill and baists it for a couple hours and it gets amazing! I have the glaze we do written down if you want. The ham on the grill came around a few years ago because we usually have a major heat spike at Easter and I wasn't turning on the oven but this year we are a normal temp - everyone just loves the grill so even when it rains we make Jason go out and ham it up!

TOKYO!!! That is exciting!!!!! i can't wait to hear all about it! My fiance really wants to go there someday..me..i am a bit intimidated!

SWANGY (SWEET, SPICEY, & TANGY) BOURBON HAM
Serves 8 to 10 people

1 8 to 10lb Bone in Smoked Shank Ham

For the Sauce:

3 Cloves of garlic – minced
1 Medium white onion – chopped
1 Tsp. Olive oil
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp. Cracked Black Pepper
½ Cup Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard
½ Cup Good Quality Apricot Preserves
2 Tblsp. Sriracha Hot Chili sauce
20 oz. can of chunk pineapple in its own juice or one fresh pineapple cut into chunks
¼ Cup Red Wine Vinegar
¾ Cup Bourbon

To make the sauce:

In a large sauce pan over medium heat, warm olive oil and add onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Cook until onions are softened, about 3 minutes.
Stir in mustard, preserves, and chili sauce and cook 3 minutes more or until preserves are melted. Add pineapple with its juice and vinegar, stir in and bring to a boil. Stir in bourbon and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low, cover and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

For the ham:

Allow ham to come to room temperature before grilling. Score the ham all over by making shallow cuts diagonally across the service in a diamond pattern. Place in a 9 by 13 aluminum disposable pan, pour half of the sauce over the ham and place pan in the middle of your grill.
BBQ at indirect, medium- high heat, basting ever 5 minutes or so with the rest of your sauce and juices in the pan. Ham should cook about 1 hour or until outside skin is crisp and browned.
Any left over sauce maybe served on the side.

Hope you like it.. I have done the sauce/ham in the oven many times and it's great also

We're a 2 holiday household, so I'm growing grey hairs by the minute this week when 2 said holidays decide to share the same week :scared1: Because of mine, DH's and FIL's scedules, we're putting off Passover seder till Tuesday (good thing it's a week long holiday)

So we start with Easter dinner:

devilled eggs
ambrosia
strawberry soup
asaragus or asparagoose bundles, haven't decided yet
scalloped potatoes that FIL volunteered to make
leg of lamb
fruit tart that MIL is bringing from Harris Teeter
not sure on other desserts yet

Tuesday night we'll have Passover Seder--gotta love a holiday with a 4 drink minimum :thumbsup2
Seder Plate will have Lamb Shank, hard boiled egg, parsley, horseradish, Charoset and Matzoh
Dinner:
Gefilte fish (not for me, yuck!)
matzoh ball soup
noodle kugel
probably sweet potato casserole for a veggie
brisket with carrots & onions

dessert will be flourless chocolate torte w/strawberries & chocolate sauce
