Question - would you leave a laptop with Bell services? We are flying down to Disney in four weeks (we had planned on driving, but the SWA rates were just too attractive). For our first night we are staying at POP Century before we check in at VWL for the rest of our stay. When we check out of POP, I was going to leave our luggage with Bell services to take to VWL. I had planned on taking my laptop but am now having second thoughts. What do you think - have you ever left a laptop with Bell services? Thanks.

We leave our laptops w/Bell Services regularly...if our villa isn't ready when we arrive (we usually get there around noon and our luck is usually about 50 - 50 w/having to wait for a room)...

The only time we keep one (we each usually bring one) is if we think we want to use it during our wait time (only happened once)...

Sometimes we put the laptop bag in the roller bag (carry-on), just to "hide" it a bit...but most of the time we just leave the laptop bags w/the roller bag and go on our way...

Never had a problem...

We leave our laptop with Bell Services and had zero problems. We identify the luggage that is the laptop, and they give us a separate tag, and store the laptop in a locked cabinet.

We have done it a couple of times. Usually if our flight isn't until later and we have to check out of the unit & we've flown on like SW or something where they don't participate in the luggage program with DME. So it's always with our other stuff. They do give you a separate receipt tag for it I think to identify you had a laptop.

Yep, they lock valuable in "the cage" We have never had a problem, an in many cases they will bring you to the cage to get it out when you retrieve it. Laptops have gotten cheaper and are not as great a theft item as they once were, virtually everyone has one now.

When we arrived early and our room was not ready we did not. (We also had a bunch of loose coats, etc.) When I commented on our hesitation to use bell services when offered, the front desk CM mentioned that they could put the computer in the safe. My DH ended up at a nice table in the shade at SAB with the pile o'stuff while I swam with the girls. I don't think it was a hardship on him... the nice HH waitress did come by a couple times. ;)

On the last day we had a late flight and did check the backpack w/computer.

I've left mine a couple of times with bell services and as everyone else has noted, they lock it up and give a separate receipt. I've never had a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll take it with me after all.

My opinion ... if your laptop is irreplaceable, bring it with you over to WL. Check in and if your room is not ready, ask to have it put in the safe (not Bell service's cage) while you enjoy the parks, pools or whatever. Most laptops fit fine if they remove the drawer unit. Like any safe, they'll keep the first key - and you get the second key (don't lose it as there's only one!).

I have brought my work computer with me on two trips so far & had no problems with the above. I do appreciate the work bell services does, but not everyone is careful & I could never trust Bell services with my machine after seeing what they did to my luggage just transferring between resorts. If my machine goes missing, my employment follows.

I've left mine with bell services at the resort while waiting for the room but I don't think I would leave it with them to transfer to another resort.

We bring ours every year, and have never had a problem with it at bell service. Like everyone else has said...tell them that it is a lap top and it goes into the cage. I was always more worried about leaving it the room, but if someone needs it that bad to steal it, then there is nothing I can do about it. I have actually left it right out on the table in the living room. Still there when I came back. We use it to upload our daily pictures on it, and let the girls get on the internet at night. It's not a work computer.

We always bring ours and if we need to leave items with bell services, our laptop is included. Never had a problem.
