Just got an iPhone and love it. And I downloaded a free app with wait times for the rides and then realized...it'll cost me a fortune to access the data when I'm down there....since there's no wifi in the parks.

Has anybody found a way to get around this? I dont' even think there's wifi at my resort. I'll gladly pay (well, "gladly" is such a strong word....) if there's a hotspot.

Maybe Bell has a data plan for the States like they do for phones?

A call to them would not hurt to see, I know with my Rogers Iphone I can pay a extra bit for us data roaming.

However I have been warned before about us data roaming charges being extreme so I am leary on using mine period down there.

From what I understand Bell has no United States data plans for accessing internet or downloaded apps. For my families upcoming trip I purchased their United States calling plan for 200 roaming free minutes and a plan for 100 text messages without being charged roaming prices. However they didn't have any plans if I wanted to access the inernet or apps I downloaded from BlackBerry App World for my BlackBerry.

Oh poop. :(

Well, you could have your phone unlocked, then buy a sim card down in Florida, if you have a car and can get to a mall. But that would void your warranty.
I'm with Telus, and thinking about an I phone, I think after the warranty exp. I will have it unlocked.

Well, I never did find a wifi anywhere near the parks. Strangely enough, on our day of departure for our cruise, somebody started up a wifi near our hotel room (CBR). For whatever reason, my iPhone picked up the wifi and I was able to check stuff on the internet. LOL I lost the signal when we went to breakfast and it was gone when we returned. Really weird.

Any idea if an AT&T SIM would work in an unlocked Bell iPhone? Their prepaid data plan is a bargain compared to Bell's roaming rates.

It would if the iPhone was unlocked but the only Canadian distributor I know of for the iPhone is Rogers and they won't unlock their phones. I wanted to purchase one last year but didn't becaus of that.

Not sure if this is accurate still but thought I would post it incase it is. Plan to check it out this March

At Magic Kingdom park free wifi is available on Main Street USA and outside the City Hall guest relations.

At Epcot, free Wifi is available in Innoventions east near the Universe of Energy exit.

At Blizzard Beach, free Wifi is available in the area close to the gift shop near the main entrance.

At Disney Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney MGM) free Wifi is available between the Brown Derby restaurant and Mickey's Sorcerers Hat.

There's also free WiFi at the WWoS ... but almost nobody ever goes there.
