being realistic?

Ok, we arrive for our very first trip to DLR on Sunday, August 16th and leave the morning of Friday the 21st. We are staying at the GCH (concierge first time ever) and debating on what park tickets to get.

I'm looking at just DL tickets and it would be $179 (x four of us) for just Disney or possibly doing the city pass at $259 (each). We will have a car and would like to 'see somethings' (i.e. Pacific Ocean) since this may be our only trip our west.

Any suggestions for first timers?

If you are only going to be there from Sunday (when?) to Friday morning that's only like 4 days. I'd say just go with DLR because I feel like if you chose the Citypass, you'd feel rushed, trying to see everything in a very short period of time.

That's kind of what I was thinking and hearing someone else say it sounds so much better (and saves a little money)

disneyland

On our first trip we did the aquarium in long beach and knotts berry farm and then we did disneyland.

I should have just bought 2 more days at disneyland when it was all said and done.

You could always do 3 days in the parks & one day to venture out & see the sites. With the tickets being 5 for 3, when you got done sightseeing, you could always come back & spend the evening at DL.
Just a suggestion...... Hope you have a great trip!!

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll just do DL and play by ear any 'free' time. I noticed today that tics were same for 5day/3day so that's good. I am curious of you usually buy your tickets elsewhere to save money of is this the best deal right now $179 for five days.

When do you get in on Sunday? If it's fairly early afternoon, maybe you could go hit a nearby beach? Then at least you'd see the ocean!

Then, I agree with the others, you can use the rest just for DL. That's a nice amount of time, 4 days. If you are leaving in the afternoon, you could still go in the parks Friday morning and re-do a few favorites.

You are going to have SUCH a good time! GCH concierge, how wonderful! We stayed there on our very first trip, too, and though a big splurge, we sure enjoyed it. There's nothing like that private entrance to CA-- get soaked on GRR, just run up to your room and change!
