Being made a Saint TWICE deserves a trip to Mickey's House! PTR Update pg.12 06/06!!!

Great job of getting up and out the door. Your day at MK sounded fun filled and action packed. How is the new fastpass rule going to change your plans next time? Miss Megan is as cute as ever in her Mickey shirt. I love her smile.:goodvibes

new fastpass rule?? ut oh....

Shaving their legs in the Tomorrowland bathroom?!:scared1:

Otherwise it sounds like a pretty awesome day!
That was really nice of the CM to let you guys ride Buzz again! They are so awesome about that kind of thing! I love Megan's faces in all of your pictures - she is just pure excitment and happiness!:goodvibes

Well at least the tour group weren't shaving anything other than their legs! I'm sure that Megan didn't know WHAT to think. I wouldn't even know what to think. So glad that your health issues are getting under control. It's just too bad that it took that long to figure it out.

So sorry for all that you went through. It sounds like your world was rocked. Glad that they were able to figure out what was wrong and be with the proper medication treat it. Prayers will continue.

Something weird with dis after the update, I keep trying to get to your last page and I tried clicking last page, then next button and the number 8 and it wil not allow me to get there :scratchin

that is INSANE about the tour group in the restroom!

People never cease to amaze me...even at WDW!

Tom *really* IS the fastpass master! I happen to think I'm pretty good at it, but sounds like he is better! You three sure fit in a lot of fun at MK. Do you remember what time you had to wake up in order to time your morning so well? Great job! I don't blame you for calling it an early night.

It's a smart thing to save all the air conditioned attractions for the super HOT afternoon :thumbsup2

Sorry the food was so gross at Tortuga! I've personally never tried it. We don't tend to branch out once we find a counter service we're happy with in each 'world'. LOL It's FlameTree BBQ in AK, Backlot Express (or Pizza Planet) in MGM (I still refuse to call it DHS :rotfl:), Cosmic Ray's in MK, or Electric Umbrella in Epcot. Although I did try the counter service in Japan during our last trip and really enjoyed it! I suppose the World Showcase could be considered a "world" all it's own! (I didn't care for the chinese counter service there when I tried it years ago. DH likes the Mexican. So last time he got Mexican and walked all the way to Japan with me with his food so I could get CS there)

It's funny when people mention certain counter service restaurants that I have no clue what they are....LOL

I know what you mean about the people in the bathroom....EEEWWW doesn't even come close to capture how WEIRD it was!!!

Tom is SUCH a good FP Master...he can't wait to attack the new FP policy to see if he can still Master it as well as the old one...I will be sure to update you all on that progress! :lmao:

I know what you mean about favorite CS places...we were trying to be adventurous, but I think we will probably stick to most of our favorites this time around...it is just SO not worth the risk!

We certainly had a great time, and I think that day helped convince us that we can handle Disney...even in July's heat and crowds.

The new FP change will impact us a little...Tom used to collect the FPs as he could get them throughout the day, but then we would use them later throughout the day regardless of their window...they used to let you use them even if your window had expired. I know he will still be on top of picking up FPs, we will just have to be VERY vigilant now about using them in their window!!! We shall see how it all works out!

She has the greatest smile...and yes, I am COMPLETELY biased!

new fastpass rule?? ut oh....

Now you HAVE to use them in your return window...no saving them for the rest of the day anymore!!! BUMMER!

I know what you mean about the bathroom scene....I almost felt like I was in some weird time warp...kept thinking, is THIS really happening at WDW?!?!?! WEIRD!

It was SUCH an awesome day! I know what you mean about the second ride at Buzz...so awesome! The funny thing was that I was just wanting them to know that there was one broken. I didn't even THINK about getting another ride out of it! :lmao:

Her faces are one of the reasons I think we keep going back and enjoying it SO much!!! PRICELESS!!!!

Well at least the tour group weren't shaving anything other than their legs! I'm sure that Megan didn't know WHAT to think. I wouldn't even know what to think. So glad that your health issues are getting under control. It's just too bad that it took that long to figure it out.

You are right...thank goodness they were stopping there!!! She just wanted to get out of there ASAP!!!!

I am so happy to be on the medical mend....the second half of last year was MISERABLE!!!! Makes me so appreciate my health.

So sorry for all that you went through. It sounds like your world was rocked. Glad that they were able to figure out what was wrong and be with the proper medication treat it. Prayers will continue.

Thank you so much! It was such an insane time for all of us...I am so lucky to have the love and support of Tom and Megan to help me through it all! Thanks for the continued prayers...I SO appreciate them!

Something weird with dis after the update, I keep trying to get to your last page and I tried clicking last page, then next button and the number 8 and it wil not allow me to get there :scratchin

I know what you mean...there was a stretch of 3-4 days where when I posted, it did not update the thread with them; and at times, I couldn't get logged in at all!!! I heard they were doing some kind of update...not sure about that because it all looks the same now. Just so glad I can get on again!!!

I totally agree with you about Tortuga, we won't go back unless someone else really wants to go. It just wasn't anything special...
I'll go for CHH or Casey's any day!

You all really got so much done on your day, and what a score on that view! Sorry Tom had such a trek for his mug refills...

For some reason my mind is thinking you are at Magic Kingdom on our arrival day... June 13th. Is that correct?

I agree about Tortuga...not WORTH it! I love CHH, but we have never tried Casey's...maybe we should try this time!?!?!?!?

The view was incredible!!!! I wish they could remedy the distance to the ONE and only mug refill station at AKL...Tom was SO disappointed!

We arrive on the 13th too...once we finally get to the hotel and get settled, we are heading over to MK...you are SO correct! :thumbsup2

Absolutely!!! As long as the flight doesn't knock Tom off his feet, we will be at MK....maybe stalking you!?!?!? Mmmmwwwaaaahhhhh!!!!

I'm joining in and going back to read! My mom and I will be there June 21-25!! :thumbsup2

WELCOME!!!! So glad for you to follow along!!! What a good time to be there!!! Maybe we will cross paths!!!

HELLO MY FRIENDS!!! I am hoping my problems with the DIS have finally fixed themselves! There were many days I couldn't get logged in, when I did, I couldn't post or lost posts...it was INSANITY!!!! Hoping that is all behind me!

We had a GREAT busy weekend with Megan's First Communion festivities and Dance Recital pictures....more on that and pics to follow!!!

We are headed out to soccer practice now, but will be posting those updates soon!!! Getting SOOOOOOOOO close for words!!!

The dis has been very wacky, but seems to be okay now

Glad it is working for you again

So close

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I was hoping to be able to give you the First Communion update and the next day of our July trip, but I forgot that my July pictures have been transferred to our external hard drive and I don't have access to that right now. SO, it looks like it will just have to be a First Communion update...with an Easter snapshot thrown in for fun! ;) I hope that is okay with you all if we take just a tiny detour from all our Disney fun!!!!

Here's a picture of my girl during one of the many Easter egg hunts from this year's festivities. I SO love the color of this dress on her!!! I just can't get over how grown-up she looks now though!!!

As I mentioned before, Megan celebrated her First Communion this past Saturday. It was such a wonderful moment for all of us...the service was SO thoughtful and sweet (and tear-jerking all at the same time), she looked stunning (yes, we are COMPLETELY biased), but what was so special was how ready Megan was to receive this sacrament. She wasn't focused on the dress or the veil or the party or the gifts....she just couldn't WAIT to receive Communion! She literally woke up on her own at 7am on Saturday crying tears of excitement and happiness saying, "Mommy and Daddy....I get to receive JESUS today!" We could NOT contain her enthusiasm, and it was such a joy to behold. It's times like these that become even more bittersweet for Tom and me when we think of how close we were to never getting to experiencing them with our sweet girl because we almost lost both of us the day she was born, and for so many more scares after that within the first year of her life. We are SO abundantly blessed, and unbelievably grateful! At one point during the ceremony, they all stood on the altar and sang the sweetest song--"Oh, How I Love Jesus." Tom and I couldn't help welling up with tears as she sang so proudly, "Oh YES I love Jesus, because He first loved ME!" Oh yes, my sweet Megan, how right you are!!!! Enjoy our angel....

It was a WONDERFUL day...even though we had torrential downpours!!! :goodvibes Luckily, I was able to rent out the reception hall at our church for her party, so we didn't have to get out in the rain at all!!! I am sure these memories will also last our lifetime!

Okay, I do need some PTR help!!!! I have three issues I need some advice for this trip.
  1. As you can see, my camera REALLY is dying. Tom took such better pictures with his camera phone. We want to get a new camera. Yes I would love to invest in a really GREAT one, but I know me, I won't want to lug it around everywhere with me at the parks. SO, what I am looking for is a great compact camera that takes GREAT pictures, has stability control so it won't blur if my hand shakes, has a good zoom, and has a big viewfinder on it. OKAY....suggestions anyone?!?!?! PLEASE help!
  2. I am having the great VERA bag debate---do I stick with the same Vera backsack I have used for the past two trips, or do I go back to a Hipster like I used before? The backsack doesn't usually bother me and provides plenty of storage, but makes my back all hot and sweaty. I think I can fit everything in the Hipster, I like that it will be easier to access things, but I am afraid the strap will annoy me equally as well. OKAY....let the discussion and debate begin!!!!
  3. I am afraid my ME tags will not arrive in time. How long do you need to get them, what happens if they don't make it here in time, is there any hope or other options for us if that happens?!?!?! Since we haven't done this before, we are SERIOUSLY worried about all of this...please help!!!
Sitting at 42 DAYS UNTIL MICKEY'S HOUSE!!!! Closing in on 40!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Oh I agree about the color of Megan's Easter dress. It is just gorgeous on her!!! Your retelling of Meg's first communion was so touching. I was getting all emotional just reading it!
She was beyond beautiful on her special day....

Now to your ptr worries.
1. I know nothing about cameras. I would love what you are looking for too. As it is now, I just use my iphone and put Disney up on FB! LOL

2. The park bag. I have more than one backpack and don't mind carrying one in December when it isn't hot. I really like the hipster for hot weather touring. Disney has some very cute cross-body bags out right now and I got one of them on our spring break trip. It's about the size of a hipster, it's water-proof, and it is Mickey inspired! LOVE it!!!

3. Tags from DME. Do you have your information to them? If you have given them your dates and flight numbers you should be fine. If something happens and you don't get the tags, all you have to do is pick up your luggage when you arrive. That's really no big deal, that way when you check in you don't have to wait for them to deliver it.

Honestly we have never had a problem getting the tags in time. We did forget to bring them with us to the airport on our Spring Break trip. We were going to have DME deliver our luggage but we were renting a car so we just picked it up and took it in the car.

Hope this helps!

She is a beautiful little girl, and the dress is very pretty. (She reminds me a lot of a friend's daughter. Her name is Mandy, and she's grown now, but she looked a lot like your daughter when she was little. I can almost guarantee that if I showed my kids that picture and asked them who that reminded them of, they would say Mandy.) We are so, so blessed to have all of our precious little ones!

Makes me smile a really big smile.

How awesome that Megan was so excited for her first communion! She looked beautiful in her dress and your looked amazing in yours as well!

As far as cameras I LOVE my Nikon. I don't currently have it with me so I can't be sure on this, but I believe it's the Nikon CoolPix S4000. I have to admit thought, I'm starting to use the camera on my iPhone a lot more than my Nikon. For me it's becoming much easier to grab my phone to capture those moments with Evan rather than search for my camera.

I'm going through the great bag debate myself at the moment. I love my VB hipster, but since Evan is still in diapers, I need a bigger bag. I'm looking into getting a small LLbean Backback for Evan as his carry on (also for to use for preschool in a year!) So I might just end up with that.

"Normally" I think ME tags arrive about 30 days in advance, but I think it can be as close as 14 days out. I once booked a flight last minute that my tags did not arrive. I did have to get my own luggage and take it to the ME desk, but I was able to get on the bus. I just had to take my luggage, which was nice because I didn't have to wait for Disney to bring them to my room.

Enjoy this beautiful weather we're having...

P.S I totally think we should get in a DIS meet at the Disney store before our trips!

she looked so happy and beautiful! So glad everything went so well.

I can't really assist with 1 & 2 but for #3. I think you will get your tags soon, so don't fret. But IF you don't, then find some type of tags you can use to make your bags stand out, all identical tags. And then give that description to the DME when you arrive at MCO. The biggest thing is to make sure they have all your flight information, (airline, #'s, arrival time) if you haven't already done so.

Love Megan's blue dress. She looks so pretty and in her communion dress as well

Looks like a great service :duck:

I really can;t help with the camera, as I use my Iphone, which takes great pics. I just use a regular backpack in the park, sorry :)

I would not worry about your ME tags...they normally come around 3 weeks to a month before your trip.

If they don't come, and ME has your flight info, then would not worry about it. You can just give the person in ME area your info and you will be able to get on. You can describe your luggage and they will find it and bring to you room. But if that makes you nervous, you can always just grab your luggage yourself before heading to ME

Either way, you will be fine :thumbsup2

Awww thanks dear! The pictures in a way don't do how radiant she was any justice! She was just beaming and glowing with excitement all day long!!

Now to your ptr worries.

Thanks so much for the input!! I would basically use Tom's phone, but I am the one who does all the picture taking, and I know I will get annoyed having to always ask for it from him. Looks like we will both be getting some scoop from anyone who gives us some input on cameras!! :goodvibes

I really do think I am going to go back to the Hipster for this trip...although, I might just have to do some browsing of the Disney ones first!!! Do they sell those on disneystore.com?

They do have our info...I just wasn't sure if we should have them by now or not. I feel so much better knowing that we can always just pick up the bags and get on ME if need be!!! I was so afraid of "being stranded" at the airport! :lmao:

You are TOO sweet MeMom!!! I would love to see a picture of Mandy now...would love to know what Megan might look like down the road! :goodvibes I agree about the blessings...such precious little ones all around!!!

I STILL get a lump in my throat each time I relive her singing that song...it was a gut-rencher...in SUCH a good way!!!

How awesome that Megan was so excited for her first communion! She looked beautiful in her dress and your looked amazing in yours as well!

Thanks for the compliments for Megan and me! You are too sweet!!! I love the dress I wore for First Communion..it was so comfortable, and really looks nice on. It was raining so hard when we arrived, so the hair got a tad messed up since I was more worried about protecting Megan, but still turned out okay!

Is this your camera?

Looks pretty good! I think I will look into it a little more! Thanks for the tip!

One thing we never did at Disney was diapers, so good luck finding the perfect bag for that. The LL Bean bag sounds like a good one to go with.

Thanks for relieving my fears about ME. I know we should be okay then!

I will try to squeeze in a DISmeet...our time after we get out of school and before Disney is a little crazy nuts--for example, Megan's dance recital is LITERALLY the day before we leave...let's just hope I have time to pack!!! :rotfl2:

The weather has been glorious...hoping the cold weather is gone for good!!!

she looked so happy and beautiful! So glad everything went so well.

Thanks so much for the compliments on Megan's dresses--we are SO biased, but she looked so cute in both!

Thanks for relieving my fears! I feel so much better now!
