We're going to POP next october. But I would really like to surprise my kid (4yo DS) with a surprise visit to radiator springs... :)

And of course I'd really like us to try those new pools at AoA (actually it's an "excuse" to experience the resort before booking a trip there if we like it)

I also know that the use of the AoA pools is reserved to AoA guests.

So I was considering booking a 1 night stay in a Cars Suite during our POP stay.

We're not doing a split stay, since it would be too much trouble packing, unpacking for a day, packing again, and unpacking back at POP for the rest of the stay
So I would be paying for both resorts at the same time for that night we would spend at AoA

SO ... now that I'm an AoA guest and I can use the pools :rotfl2: could you answer these questions

Since we'll already be next door, we intend to check in very early (8ish am) and have a resort/pool day. We know it's possible to check in early even if the room is not ready. Has anyone experienced that at AoA and are the RFID keys already activated so that we can open the pool doors before a room number is assigned to us (before the legal 3pm check in time) ? Basically can we use the pools as soon as we're checked in ?
And can we use them on our check out day, and is it like DDP credits, until midnight on check out day ?

I know it might sound silly to pay for a suite just to use the pools, but as said above, the purpose is to evaluate AoA for our next stay

We'll also be booking through hotels.com as they are $50 cheaper than Disney atm. SO I suppose I won't be able to get a resort confirmation number and do OLCI or will I ? Any experience with hotels.com and Disney ?

thanks for your input

Be carefully, if both of the reservations are in your name, Disney may catch on to what your doing and cancell one of the reservations........

They do this not to stop what you want to do......(hell your paying for it)..but to stop people from making multi reservations and tieing up rooms, then not deciding where to stay until the last minute.

thanks, that's what I asked the CRO this morning, because I know you need different names for multiple room bookings.
I'll use DW's maiden name as her passport still bears that name, anyway, she's gonna know at least at check in, so no big deal with her needing to show ID at the desk.

what I'm really after are the pools (tbh) - (and lucky as I am it's gonna pour the whole 48 hours we'll be there :rotfl2: )

Why not just book a Little Mermaid (non-suite) room at AoA for your entire vacation?

Why not just book a Little Mermaid (non-suite) room at AoA for your entire vacation?

for several reasons :

1 - we love POP and this may be the last year we stay there, and we already paid in full anyway (UK booking)

2 - we want to try a Suite for a change, maybe our next trip will be in a suite instead of a value standard room

3 - My son is totally mad about Cars (especially Mater)

4 - My son is allergic to mermaids especially when they're called Ariel ... don't know why he decided she was "rubbish" (his words, not mine, he's 4) and I really don't see him living in a LM room during our 21 nights stay :)
He says Ariel is a brand of washing machine soap (which is true in France where we live, lol)

:)
