I was considering making a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table for myself, husband and two boys (5 & 2). This would truly be more of a splurge for me than them with the chance at getting to eat in the castle. I know you have to pay for the meal up front when you make the reservation----but they are not charging me for my 2 year old. How does this work when it comes to food for him? He will definitely need to eat. Can I purchase a kids meal for him? Do they serve him free anyway? I know he is free at AYCTE places. And I know you can choose to purchase a meal for him anywhere else.....but this one has me stumped. Thanks!

In August, our toddler was given a full kids meal including choice of drink, grapes and cheese appetizer, chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, veggies, and cupcake for no cost. Technically, they could charge you for anything you order for an under 3 year old, but at CRT it seems like they typically provide a free meal to little ones. Our server told us as soon as he came to the table that even though toddlers at most restaurants are expected to share from parents plates, Cinderella believes that even the littlest of mice should have their own plates and that he would bring him his own food. He was also given a free kids meal at the Bon Voyage breakfast.

We had the same experience at crt with our two year old in November. Also at akershus. Given a full kids meal for free st both places !

Even though you booked it for you, CRT is PRECIOUS with little boy. Many times they will get a red lip kiss on the cheek. It made for one of my most favorite pictures of all trips. Enjoy.

Really?!?! I had no idea they gave toddlers free meals at these places. How was it handled at the Bon Voyage breakfast? Did you just ask the server? I’m considering booking that one and my son will still be 2 when we go. I was planning on having him share off my plate because I don’t really think he can eat an entire $20 kids meal. I was going to order pancakes because I think he will like them, but I’d order something different for myself if he were getting his own meal!

when my niece was 2 my sister planned to have her eat off of the adults plates. At CRT she was told the 2 year old could order anything on the kids menu, they would provide a smaller portion for free and the wand. Akershus, offered any item on the kids menu for free, We did not expect and did not ask for it, the CMs offered it.

We had the complete opposite experience at CRT last time. We also had a not so great server which was a huge disappointment. Our last trip all of our TS meals were amazing except this one. We had our 6 and 2 yr old with us. He never offered anything for our little guy and I even asked about paying for a meal and he was super annoyed , he said "well I guess I can bring him a waffle", I said thank you and let it go.

At Bon Voyage, the server asked us as soon as she came over how old DS was. We told her he was almost 2 and she replied that we could pick out a full kids meal for him free of charge. We ordered him the pancakes and it was the same size as the kids pancakes my 7 yo received. He also received his own bowl of fruit, a beverage, and of course could share the tray of pastries. If your server doesn't offer, just ask what your options are for toddlers there.

for my 2 year old. How does this work when it comes to food for him? He will definitely need to eat

KIDS UNDER-3 EAT FREE "411":
1) TECHNICALLY, there is no such thing as a "kids-under-3-eat-free" policy.
. . . no where in ANY Disney brochure is this mentioned
. . . there is no such policy
2) But, when done per policy, they eat almost free.
3) And, based upon CM discretion, they can eat free.
4) The official rules:
. . . kids under three can eat off the adult's plate
. . . they can still get an empty plate for themselves, and take food from an adult's plate
. . . if they order anything, like milk, they are supposed to pay for it
. . . if they order any food, they are supposed to pay for it
. . . this is anywhere, including buffets
5) What really happens:
. . at buffets & AYCTE kids actually "eat buffet food free"
. . . . . . adults could get the food, instead and give it to the kid
. . . . . . the adult could claim it is their plate kid eats from
. . . . . . they might as well have a drink, for same reason
. . . . . . it's tough to determine it was theirs or their parents
. . . . . . thus, kids can have their own plate and beverage without charge
. . at non-buffet, servers can determine if they ordered food
. . . . . . it is easy to tell if they got a drink
. . . . . . the server usually charges for food ordered for the kid
. . . . . . the server usually let's the drink go, but not food
. . . . . . the server, at their own discretion, can charge for beverage
6) So, to wrap-up, in practical terms
. . . at non-buffets, kids under-3 eat without charge ONLY from parent's plate
. . . at buffets & AYCTE, they can actually take food from the buffet table or separate plate
. . . at all meals, items are ordered for the child "might" be charged for them
. . . BUT, in almost every case, the SERVER will not charge you extra for such minor items going to "the little kid"
7) Please remember to add your child to the table count.
. . . if there are four adults and a child, that needs an ADR for five people
. . . this is regardless whether the child is lap, stroller, highchair, or regular chair
. . . also, if the baby makes six people, the AUTOMATIC 18% GRATUITY is in effect
. . . no automatic gratuity at CRT-HDDR-LUAU-BBQ, as tips are already included in the meal price

I was going to order pancakes because I think he will like them, but I’d order something different for myself if he were getting his own meal!
I would keep the pancake plan as a backup, just in case you have a server there like the one meeka003 had at CRT.
