Has anyone done this? What did you think of it? We're considering taking our 8 and 5 year olds. What are the animal (etc) interactions like?

I have taken the tour twice over the years. Nice pace, informative, not too long (good for young kids). Price is $20 adults, $16 kids. Don't forget the discounts....AP, DVC, Disney Visa, and sometimes AAA (15%)

We've been on this tour with our DD. We all enjoyed it. The only real animal interaction is when they let the kids release some lady bugs. It is a nice tour that is cheap compared to other Disney tours.

I did the tour in December 2013. I enjoyed it, it was very informative. My tour didn't have any animal interactions. We did get to sample some cucumbers that were fresh from the gardens.

We've done the tour twice and enjoyed it both times. My daughter's 5 and loves it too, especially being able to view the alligators up close and personal (no interaction, just a good view). On both tours (October '13, November '14) we didn't release ladybugs.

We did it and while my husband enjoyed it I was a tad bored. I'm just not a gardening person though, if your kids are at all interested I think they would love it. It was a great value, there were some insects but no animals.

ETA: I forgot we were also allowed to feed the fish. I'm not sure if it was feeding time or if they do that every time.

We did it with our then 6 and 9 yr old (they're in the picture) and we all enjoyed it as well. We released ladybugs AND fed the fish AND got to try some cucumber. They also offer a military discount along with the ones PP mentioned.

Great for adults and children - mostly a small group - you can get an discount.
Discounts are available for AAA, DVC members, annual passholders, and active military.

Great way to learn about plants, fish and science projects.
The CM will also answer questions anyone has.
Sometimes you get a free item - such as seeds to take home or a slice of produce to taste.

If you are not mobile, it may be hard to get around some area's.

I thought it was ok. My DH didn't like it at all. It was way too hot in the greenhouse for him, and he was a little bored.
