If you are a beer lover, like myself, you will definitely appreciate this information. I am forever trying all types of microbrewed and eclectic beers.....with not so good results on many of them...:scared1:

I found prehaps the BEST microbrewed beer EVAH!!! I was at SAM'S club yesterday and saw they had a case of Leinenkugel beer and decided to try it out. I had been mourning the loss of my Sam Adams sampler cases, so I figured this would be second best.

OMGosh, this is the BEST beer I have ever had....it lays Sam Adams in the shade and THAT is saying something!:cool2:

If you love beer, get this, NOW.....my psa for beer lovers....

I used to drink Leinies in college. They're great. I don't think they sell it in California.

Hubby loves the sampler pack. We found a beer here in the Midwest called Schells that has a sampler pack and it is great. I personally love Blue Moon with a slice of orange.

I am drinking the Sunset Wheat right now. Generally, I do NOT like wheat beers, this one is awesome. I need to go back to Sam's this weekend and stock up b/c I'm sure once they sell out they won't restock....that always happens to me with stuff I like at Sams.

I wonder if they sell this in Texas? I like the occasional beer but only the "good" stuff and nothing heavy.

You would love it. What I have noticed with these beers, is there is no strong "aftertaste". Even the Creamy Dark is smooth - you just taste hints of chocolate and a bit of nuttiness....there is NO bitter aftertaste and that is very rare for a dark beer.

OMG I thought it said all types of microwaved!! I was like umm..I' ve never heard of microwaved beer before!

Sorry! I don't like beer...but DH drinks Labatt Blue.

There is one beer I love and it has a chocolate smell and taste and is smooth too like the one you mentioned above. LEFFE DARK is a Belgian beer and YUMMY! Very creamy, smooth and just delicious. I'm not even that big a beer fan but, I am a foodie a bit and so I try new beers when I can.

I had a micro brew pumpkin beer last fall that was very hoppy and quite delicious as well.

CHEERS! Try a Dark LEFFE if you ever see it on draught, it comes bottled too but, the draught is better!

Ohhhh, thanks for the tip! I love Belgian beer, Stella is one of my very favorites - but it isn't for the faint of heart....;)

You should be able to get it in TX. Even though it is brewed in Chippewa Falls, WI, it's distributed by Miller. I used to be able to get it in MD, and my parents have purchased it in FL. Good luck...it's tasty. They do a BerryWeiss that's pretty yummy on a hot summer's day at the beach.

Beer lovers here! We'll have to try it.

We found some wheat beer in Door Co., WI that we love! If you're ever up that way you'll have to try it.

Ahh, Leinies aren't microbrewed. That said, my DH is sooo happy that my previous employer got us the Sam's membership so he can have the best thing he found about living in Chicago. His favorite is the Sunset Wheat by them, but both Weiss beers are good.

His favorite is Anchor Steam Beer, but he also likes their Porter. An Abita Turbo Dog is good, too.

We plan on a trip to San Francisco next year, and we have the tours planned-Anchor, Ghiradelli and Scharffenberger!

Thanks for the recommendation, I know you are good at finding great beers! :thumbsup2

Tiggersmom, S'okay. They are a damn good beer. I can't tell you how excited DH was that he could get something other than the Leinie Reds that are stocked at Total Wine and More.

BTW, Beth, I'm serously into my wines and I love that place (it's over on Dale Mabry). We find great beers at decent prices-and they're always willing to offer suggestions when you tell them what you like.

As much as I don't like Grolsch (too bitter), I'm probaby going to pick up some the next time I'm there. I'll use it in my fondue, but I need the bottles to give batches of my special marinade away, lol.

LMAO!!!! So glad I met someone else who does this.....:lmao: :lmao: I don't mind Grolsch...but it is reminiscent of a skunk...:rolleyes1 My Dad just LOVES Grolsch and I always use the bottles for my homade sorghum syrup, lol.

Yeah, it is the skunky beer to end all skunky beers-Heineken can't even come close to that claim.

However, to use it in the fondue, since it is that skunky, I'll also add some apple cider, lol.

I wouldn't even use it in beer bread. However, I wonder how it'll work in a beer batter to make onion rings? Any experience?

ok I bought the Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat last night for my DH. He likes to try new beers. He hated it. I had a taste, very bitter.

 Leinie's

My favorite is the Big Butt Doppelbock. The name cracks me up, and the beer is pretty good too! It's a seasonal run in the fall, there might be a 6 pack or 2 left in the store right now but I'm not betting on it.
