BEER lover looking for something different...

My husband is a HUGE beer lover, and I want to try and incorporate that into our trip-anyone know where we can get some new and uniquely delicious beers??

We had lunch at Big River Grille at the boardwalk last year and he tried all the beers there already

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I've got one of those on my hands too! I don't drink beer, so I can't tell one from the other, but my DH likes the beer at Raglan Road (DTD) and all around the world showcase. Have fun!

I would go to Biergarten!!! Germany and Beer goes hand in hand together. They have traditional American i think and then German beer. They are served in the cool steins too.

If you dont want to eat you can always just get it in the pavilion too.

Rose & Crown in England (the pub portion - lots of beer choices and pub grub too, and no ADR needed!).

Try the bars in some of the resorts - I think POR has some different beers. Rix at CSR has also been written up; check on AllEars.net. And I read on another thread recently that the bar at YC is a good option too.

If he's like my Beer loving husband, most everything in Disney is a disappointment. During Food and Wine there are a few other options but for a real beer freak they just don't stack up to some of the best. Years ago Norway had a great beer, Ringnes, that got replaced by Carlsburg(!). Now, when we arrive into Orlando, we hit Whole Foods and pick up some specialty things we can't get where we live, like things from Stone Brewery. There used to be a great beer shop called Knightly Spirits that carried many Belgian and Dutch imports but they closed down much to my husband's dismay.

I can't think of many other places that have unique beers at WDW.

They have flights too which is awesome. Last time I was there they have an espresso stout. It was incredible.

Blue Zoo had several brews that were rather unique. Raglan Road has a pretty fair selection, tho none are especially rare..they had Smithwicks which I like. The bar at California Grill has Sierra Nevada Pale and Anchor Steam. Paridiso 37 had Negra Modelo and Dos Equis Amber. Yak and Yeti has Tiger beer and Kingfisher. You can get Tusker at Jiko and at the bar at the AK Lodge.

I am one of those beer lovin husbands, went to the wave for the beer flight last October. I've had the beer flight at the Rose and Crown and I also had a good time at the Beer, Wine and Food Fest. Now keep in mind that I like any kind of beer (even the pitcher of bud lite at the Hoop-Dee Doo) so the Fest was good for me, I like getting the Sam Adams flight and have a few crab cakes they serve there during the Fest as you walk around the Fest there are several place that have beer flights. This year I want to head over to the Big River Grill and try their flight during the Fest.
No wonder I gain 10 pounds plus every year at Disney.

From what I know, the organic beers mentioned at the Wave (they are at Raglan Road too) are from Orlando Brewing, an organic brewery. I, personally, would rather take the rental car over to the brewery to taste them, rather than pay Disney prices for them... But then I travel with a designated driver (hubby doesn't drink) so it's easy for me, LOL.

Le Cellier in Canada at WS supposedly has a couple great beers from Unibroue, one called Maudite, another called La Fin Du Monde. I have had both beers elsewhere and would be fairly sure your DH would like them too.

Several microbreweries in the Orlando area!

Orlando Brewing Partners has great beer, no food the day we were there, and their day begins around 3pm. Great atmosphere for beer drinkers here.

We also really like BJ's Brewhouse. Large selection of beer, larger selection of great food!

They don't any more First week of December we had dinner ressies for 10, all the adults were planning on getting the organic beer sampler, nope gone One of my friends asked the manager as she was going by, and she said they just weren't that popular so they aren't offered any more.

As a previous poster mentioned, Le Cellier has the Unibroue beers which are as close to a Belgian as you will find at the World. I like to eat at Le Cellier but, I enjoy the Maudite and La fin du Monde as much as anything. The F&W festival has some decent 'Fest beers, if you are there for that, otherwise you will find all the usual suspects from the the three lights (Bud, Miller, Coors etc.) if your beer lover is like me...drink water instead. The bar in the Wilderness Lodge had some decent micros a couple of years ago but, I can't remember what they were unfortunately.
When we were down last spring it was HOT and when we were at the Yak and Yeti in AK they had Oil Cans of Fosters that had to be some of the most refreshing beers I have ever had.
Do your husband a favor and stop at the grocery store on the way to the Hotel if possible and get some decent beer for the room, otherwise he may be disappointed.

Not a lot of love for Big River on here. It's actually an on-premises brew pub. They have a nice selection of rotating beers, and most of them are very good. They do flights, as well. If you're looking for a good place to sample a couple unique brews, this should be your first stop within the confines of the WDW gates.

Unfortunately, outside of a couple regionally-themed selections here and there, most of the tap and bottled beers you'll find in the bars and lounges are going to be fairly similar. There used to be more differences between the resorts' offerings, but the menus have become increasingly homogenized over the years.

Your best bet (outside of the Food & Wine Fest) within WDW property to find something different or unique, is most likely going to be either at Downtown Disney or the Swan and Dolphin Resort Hotels, where standard Disney World bar menus are not enforced.

Disney has a long way to go beer wise. There is not a single beer on draft at any location that I look forward to.
