Beer at the Parks

The only issue I have is I wish the beer was a little cheaper and I wish there was a wider variety.

Selling alcohol in 3 out of the 4 parks is perfectly fine and shouldn't ruin anyone's time unless someone is just absolutely against alcohol in their everyday life. Very rare that you see overly intoxicated people at Disney. The majority consuming alcohol are responsible adults that would like to have some drinks while on vacation.

So disney..maybe some more variety? I wouldn't mind being able to get a Green Apple Redds

There is only one time I noticed a walk-around beer vendor, and that was at Hollywood Studios in 2010. I even took a picture. In many trips over the last several years, this is the only time I ever noticed it, and it didn't seem outlandish nor did it bother me. Now that it's brought to my attention again, maybe I'll notice it more when I'm there in a few weeks.

And there's no vendors walking around any of the parks like a baseball game saying "cold beer here. Get your beer". None that I've seen at Disney or any other parks.

The only time anyone is walking around with alcohol is the vendors before Fantasmic that sell beer/soda, along with the other selling popcorn and kids toys

I've noticed the little carts set up but have never heard them yelling "get your cold beer here". If I did, it wouldn't bother me since I enjoy a cold beer on a hot day. Heck, I even had a cheese and beer pairing seminar at 9:15 in the morning at Epcot during F&W. If it bothers you enough to ruin your vacation, just ignore them, pretend they are yelling get your cold Dr. Pepper here and move on.

I wouldn't want them yelling about Dr. Pepper either. It's not the beer that bothers me, it's the yelling about it like at a ballgame. I would not like to see that in the parks. I never have seen it, but I don't want them to start.

I agree. They are captive to InBev/AB distributed products which limits the quality available.

Yes, I don't care if alcohol is at the parks but it would irritate me if a vendor was yelling anything to me.

I don't know, we never drink Bud or Miller (lite or otherwise) but we never hurt for a beer to drink in any park. They may not be as plentiful but they are there.

Yeah, I've got no problem with them selling beer but I've never seen a walk-around vendor calling out like at a ball game, and I don't really like that. This must have been in the F! amphitheater, right?
In all the trips we have taken have never seen a beer vendor walking around. Plenty of carts and some extra stations during the holidays and special events. Though I see in the pic above at Osborne lights there was one but have never seen myself.

I wouldn't like it either. Fine to sell it, but why bring such attention to it? Especially in the WDW atmosphere. JMHO.

Unless it is at Fantasmic or another show where people are sitting and waiting, I am not okay with any food or drink vendors walking around WDW yelling out to come get food and beverages (And really even there do they need to yell? You could pretty much see what they had). There are plenty of food and drink wagons in their normal stationed spots, as well as CS spots. It is not like it is hard to find food or drink anywhere. Walking around the park carrying it yelling would really ruin the atmosphere. I'm okay with the light up toy carts moving around at night, but I have never seen the people with those carts yelling at the crowd. My DH is mostly just upset that he can't get a beer at MK- he says that is where parents clearly need it the most. ;) I always just tell him he is lucky he can find it at the other 3 parks!

I do think I remember the beer vendor at Osborne lights that year, but I don't remember him yelling. I just remember him walking around. DH is a total beer snob and if I remember right he had the standard grocery store fare (Bud, Miller types), which my DH would never willingly buy. Seem like there were also stands set up that did not move that had what DH considered better options.

I agree. I have no problem with selling beer. And I would have no problem with selling booze or junk food or whatever else.

But if Disney starts employing those guys at carnivals who are always yelling at you to "come play the ring toss" or "come try to pop the balloon with this dart", or "get your Bud Lite HEEERE", then I would be annoyed. Disney already does a fine job of sucking money out of us, so there's no need to get pushy about it.

Having said that, it sounds like, based on this thread, that isn't actually happening. At least not yet.

Did any of the sales people claim to have invented the Bud Bowl??

Chester and Hester's Dino-rama has this already.

Shoot. I sometimes wish someone would walk the ride lines and hand out beer...There are some MK days I could use it! Lol But in all honesty, I've never "noticed" beer anywhere at the parks, except for when I'm looking for it.

If this indeed was fantasmic, they have on occasion used beer vendor guys walking around in addition to the beer cart (2 on busy nights) in the plaza past the entrance gates and of course the two food concession areas.

Vendors in Fantasmic are NOT supposed to call out what they are selling but to simply hold up the product that they are selling. This is to keep from the ball game vendor atmosphere, which would interrupt an otherwise nice wait on those cushy metal bleacher seats. If you come across someone who is doing it, go find a food coordinator, usually at one of the food pads and let them know. (Though they generally do a pretty good job of letting new people know the rules).

The food vendors at Fantasmic are people picking up extra shifts and also some local high school kids who do the food vending for a few hours. While there are some 'regulars' who sign up, others come and go, so it can be difficult getting everyone to the standard.

I have seen walking beer vendors in the stadium at Fantasmic, on very busy evenings at the Fantasmic line up for the second show and IIRC during the Osborne Lights and on NYE in the Studios in general. Honestly never heard them advertising (or yelling!) what they were selling though and definitely not in a baseball game style !

Never seen anything like this at AK.
