Been There, Done That and ThenSome:Timandlesley Do Disneyfor18days!11/2 TR IS UP!pg79

I was wondering if you know how long Remy will be out? I read he will be there until sometime in September but I hope that was wrong. We may get to go in November (need a finger crossing smiley here), and I hope he will still be there. Just wondering if you had heard about it???

Sorry to hear you got dumped on while at Disney. That is so frustrating. Why doesn't the world stop turning while we are at Disney?:confused3 I told my parents that if anything bad happened while we were gone, not to tell us about it. My little dog is getting very old and I was worried about her while we were gone, but I told my mom if anything happened to her, not to tell me until we got home. Then while we were there, we got a call from my in-laws that my husband's grandfather was put into the hospital and was pretty sick. He ended up ok, but that sort of stuff just throws you for a loop when you are so far away. It's too bad we can't sprinkle pixie dust on our real world lives while we are in WDW! I'm glad you were able to forget about it for a while though. I am so thankful to have one more year as a SAHM before I have to return to that stressful rat race of working again! I'm going back to work when my DD starts 1st grade (since her kindergarten this year will only be a 1/2 day). And I used to teach :teacher: before staying home with DD, so I really feel for you on that kind of stress. Hope all has worked out for you with that!

How fun with the KimPossible missions! I've been hearing all good things about this interactive game. Glad Luke really liked it!

Remy looks really cool.

Oh yes, I remember Munchichis! I can hear the theme song running through my head! LOL Are we dating ourselves?! Ha ha!

LOVE your ride photo with Diane! How awesome you were able to catch up like that!!! The group pic of the kids is too cute. :)

Sorry the real world intruded on your Disney time and in such an unmagical way! I am glad Diane and her gang were able to help cheer you up though!

Okay...I'm still only on Page 3 - lots of reading left...

But, I had to tell you - I'm usually not a big reader of Trip Reports. But, I stumbled onto one of yours a couple of years ago and was hooked. Now, I anxiously wait for you to start every summer! Your kids are adorable, and I feel like I know all of you - it's crazy!!

Anyway, I'm a lurker for the most part (or on the unplugged boards - where I've seen you lately! ;)), but just had to come out of lurkdom to tell you how much I enjoy your writing!!

Okay, enough chit-chat...I have reading to do! Work be damned :goodvibes

What a wonderful update! The Kim Possible mission looks like alot of fun- thanks for your detailed report. Sorry to hear that you received bad news on vacation! Looking forward to reading more...

I remember Munchichi's, too. Too funny:rotfl: Loved the pics of Lauren and Tim with her parasol. The Kim Possible adventures looks really neat ... can't wait to see more.

Sorry to hear about your work stress ... that happens to me usually it's before we leave for vacation. Glad you able to recover pretty quickly and that Diane's family could cheer you up. It is so cute to see the pics of yours and Diane's families together.

That email......yuck!! We work all year to be able to get away from day to day stressers and then that happens:mad: So glad Tim is so supportive:)

So glad you met up with Diane and family, looks like they sure did put a smile on your face....nice to have Disfriends like that:hug:

Great update though, Lauren's little face when she saw Remy:cloud9:cutest thing ever....and Luke what an amazing older brother, you have an amazing family, you must be so proud of them all:love:

once again, a great update.

I still want to know your secret to getting ready so fast! How on earth did you get your whole family up, ready, eat breakfast, get to the bus stop, and manage to be AT the park (Epcot, even) within exactly one hour??? HOW? I'm COMPLETELY awestruck right now. I can't even get my husband ready that fast! And y'all all look great too!

Tim cracks me up with that umbrella, and Luke with the Remy distractions,

Excellent update! The Kim Possible thing looks like so much fun! And when we were younger my sisters and I definitely had umbrellas like the one Lauren got. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry about the work stress you had to deal with. I hate having to deal with stuff like that on vacation :( I'm glad you got it all worked out though! It looks like you guys had a fun night too, despite everything. Can't wait for more!

Hi

Just wanted to let you know that I too have cried at Disney because of work so you are not alone. I found out 2 days before our last Disney trip in May that I am most likely getting laid off soon so I feel your pain.

Also, my son was also addicted to the Kim Possible game at Epcot and because it was one of our last days there, we had to do all the games in one day so I must have walked the World Showcase about 3 times around. Ironic since he orginally thought it would be boring and wasn't sure he wanted to do it in the first place.

I'm a long time lurker and love your trip reports. Keep up the good work! :worship:

Wow! You've gotten really far on your TR already! :cool1: I'm loving it as usual. Your kiddos are growing up so fast. It's fun to watch them grow through your TRs. How nice to have the luxury to sleep in and change your ADRs when you want because you have plenty of time!:thumbsup2

Loved the Tink video - she is priceless:cutie:

I'm glad your standard view was so awesome! Is the Jambo House the DVC rennovated rooms in the old AKL, or part of the new building?

The pic of Tim with the umbrella is so funny, and so Tim:rotfl2:

I'm sorry you had to have any time at your vacation ruined by work stuff. It's just too bad to have to deal with the "real world" when you are on vacation. I hope everything works out fine.

Looking forward to more!

I'm sorry about the work problems. That really stinks. It would stink any time--but even more-so on vacation. I'm glad it's all worked out now. The Kim Possible thing looks like SO much fun! And Luke trying to distract Lauren for Remy to come is just great! :goodvibes I'm glad you were able to laugh a ton with Diane--sometimes laughing is just what you need when things are icky! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that work got in the way of the magic, but I'm glad that you did not let it get you down for long.

The kids were just so stinkin' cute at the restaurant with Remy!

great updates..sorry about the work stress though..ugh :(....but YAY for everything else. Your kids are too cute..i love that Luke was trying to keep Remy a suprise for Lauren..that was so sweet!!! :)

Great updates! Wow, I got way behind! lol!

Sorry about the work issues you had to deal with on vacation! My DH sometimes has to deal with issues while on vacation. I know it is a bummer! Glad you were able to have some other Dis'ers around to cheer you up!

Great report and great pics! Can't wait for more!

Awesome update! I plan on eating at Chefs de France and The Plaza...both for the first time. Glad they were good! I love Lauren's parasol...I want one! Luke's face while looking at the Pokemon was priceless!
I can't wait for my boys to do the Kim Possible Adventure!! Look forward to hearing about more adventures!
I'm glad that everything worked out with your work. That stinks you had to deal with that...in Disney no less!
Glad you enjoyed it, yes both Chefs de France and Plaza were wonderful. Your boys will love the KP adventures!
no, not yet. i finally have maternity coverage as of last month (i'm self-employed and getting maternity coverage is EXPENSIVE and adding me to ray's coverage took a bigger chunk out of his paycheck than we could afford, but we finally bit the bullet and did it). basically we were waiting on me to get my wisdom teeth out, which i did last friday (fun!), before we start trying because i knew i'd be on pain meds. so once i get over taking all this medication, we're officially going to start trying. i really want to get pregnant pretty quickly just because i'd rather have a baby in may or june than in july or august next year! wish us luck.
Sounds like a great plan, I am sooooo excited for you guys!!!!
So sorry you got such a bad email during your vacation:sad2: but I am glad you had a good time with Diane on Buzz. Boy those clouds do not look very good!! I know the Plaza is small isn't it? We ate there last year for the first time but I thought it was very good. I would eat there again. Yeah Boma for breakfast!! Yumm:thumbsup2
Yeah, that stunk but they lifted our spirits. Yes, Plaza sure is small!

Great update Lesley. I hope Tim gets that computer fixed :goodvibes. Your Epcot day was great. Kaylee is dying to do Kim Possible after seeing your pics. So funny Kaylee had to buy a Parasol in France too and it had to be custom. They didn't take room cards back in October either. I like the pink Lauren got, Kay's is blue. Love your France pics, we ate there too. Remy is just adorable! I absolutely despise the line for TT too. Thank god for a pool break. Sorry about your email/ work related stress. Definintely not fun while in MK. So that you got to meet up with Diane and it looks like your kids all had so much fun together. As did you ladies riding Buzz . The ride picture is . Glad you were able to get work issues resolved.
Got the computer fixed, YEAH! The parasol was a great buy! Yes, we sure had fun riding buzz!

the kim possible missions sound really cool!

i loved remy! i hope they continue to do this for awhile. it's such a great idea!

what's so funny about this is my 37-year-old husband has the same expression when he looks into this case. :lmao:

really cool that you saw all those characters in america! i don't think i've ever seen anyone there.

sorry you had to do deal with real-world issues at disney. that happened to me during our april 2008 trip, but mine was family-related. i hope everything turned out okay quickly for you so you could enjoy the rest of the trip.
I hope they keep Remy around too, he's too fun to get read of. Sorry you've had those real world troubles too, major bummer!
Wowza Lesley! You are moving right along on the trip report. I guess when you are there for 18 days it's good to keep moving...
I just hate it that you got that horrible email. When it comes to our personal finances it's hard to let something like that go. I know it would have just made me sick.

You had some awesome character greets at Epcot, we have never seen Susie and Perla or the Aristocat out! For that matter the penguins either:confused3. Tim looked adorable with Laurens umbrella and Luke had total amazement on his face looking at the Pokeman stuff.

Glad you met up with Diane and everyone hit it off. DIS meets are so much fun!
Yes, trying to move right along : ) Yeah, I've never seen those characters in Epcot either, it was great!

OK, I totally screwed up the order we did things together! I forgot they Fastpassed Buzz! Oh Well! It's OK that you posted that you beat me, I did too!:rotfl2: You probably didn't realize it but you guys cheered me up that night too! Luke's face with the Pokemon stuff is GREAT! I loved Lauren's face with Remy too! PRICELESS! I have to say though, that pic. of Tim and I pushing the strollers is NOT flattering!
Too funny, that's why I took notes : ) : ) Sorry for the not so flattering pic! You know I love ya : )
Remy at Chefs looked so cool

Kim Possible adventure sounds like a blast

I can picture Tim Walking through the world showcase with parasol over his head and it is cracking me up

That is such a shame you had to deal with that work issue at Disney...glad tim was able to calm you down and comfort you

I love the plaza...you can not beat sandwhiches and ice cream :woohoo:

That is great you and Diane and your families met up that night.

Looks like kids had a blast together, as did you and Diane

The pic of Luke on Matthew's back is so cute:goodvibes

Reading both of your reports at same time is a lot of fun :goodvibes
Yeah, the plaza is the best! Yes, our kids have a ton of fun together!!! Glad you are enjoying the TR.

Oh Lesley sorry about work, that really stinks doesn't it? Great that Tim is such a wonderful support Really glad you guys ran into Diane and family and you were able to cheer each other up! Those sandwiches looked really great at the Plaza. So cute with Remy, we couldn't fit France in this year, too badI didn't mention it to the girls because I know they would be sad to miss out on it. Can't wait to do Kim Possible missions! The kids and their Dad are really looking forward to it
Here's hoping the laptop returns to normal soon
Yes, Tim is a great support. Remy is awesome! KP missions are great, your kids will love it!

SO sorry about the work drama on vacation-no fun. Great update. The Kim Possible mission is on our list for next time. Looks like a fun Dis Meet as well.
Yeah, work drama on vacation is no fun. Thanks for reading.
Sounds like a great day, even with the work yuckiness thrown in!!! I am hoping for you that has been resolved and the stress relieved from your shoulders!!!! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Yes, overall it turned out to be a great day, thanks for reading/posting.

Oh my gosh! Love everything so far! Truly jealous of your 18 days in Disney!!! I'd be lucky to get 10 days off work!

Love the parasol you got Lauren. How much was it?

Can't wait for more!
Glad you are enjoying it so far. The parasol for Lauren was around 15 dollars personalized.
Lesley, you are so amazing!

Do you have room for 1 more in your family?!?!? I'd really like to come on your next Disney vacation!!!:rotfl:

Loving the TR..and looking forward to some more.

You are helping me pass the 78 days until I am there myself!!!
Thanks, you are too sweet, sure, always room for one more! : )

Wow Chef's De France looks good! Aw...Luke is so cute trying to keep Lauren surprised!
Chef's De France is great, it was great how Lauren was surprised.

Catching up, 18 days, WOW you are my hero!!
:worship:
Have fun catching up!

:goodvibes I think most of us, at some point, have shed a tear at Disney. Glad you were able to relax the rest of the night.

My DH says screwed the pooch all the time. :rotfl2:

I can't imagine how hot it was during your visit. We were there a month earlier and it was blazing. :scared1:

Chefs looks good and Remy, adorable! :thumbsup2 Lauren looks quite pleased.

I love the DVC daily pool parties. At the OKW my DD won an idog for kicking booty in the hoola hoop contest. :cutie: The CMs are awesome.

My girls tried the Kim Possible activity on a very hot day in Epcot. It turned into their meltdown so my memories of KP are not great. ;)

Yeah, the screwed the pooch comment cracked me up. Yes, it sure was blazing hot! Pool games are such fun!

I am so sorry to hear about the work problem! :goodvibesMy DH and I were just talking about that (he owns a real estate company)...he is working all the time when we are on vacation and it would just be so much easier to "turn it off" while you are on vacation! BUT so glad you had a great time that night. Also, I really loved your EPCOT update. My daughter Abby got an umbrella with her money as well (same thing happend to us, we had the $ she had on a giftcard...had to use cash!) You can check hers out on my TR. She still plays with it! Cant wait to read more from your great trip~
Yeah, taking work on vacation is no fun. Isn't that crazy they don't take the Disney card? The umbrella came in handy many days on our trip as you will see.
Yikes! I was out of town and missed the start of your thread - I have alot of catching up to do - I'll be back - and Welcome Home!:cheer2:
Well welcome home to you too, have fun catching up!

Sometimes sleeping in and adult time are just must-do pastimes on vacation! Love Nemo and Lion King shows. To me those, EE and the safai are the highlights of AK. The only thing I hat is how HOT it always seems there!

I felt so sorry for Lauren in the leaving AK bus photo, she was really glistening, as I'm sure you all were! Hooray for her bravery in riding in the front row!!

dddisrnner, you rock, spreading the love with fastpasses is just too cool!!:goodvibes

I can't wait for my grandsons to be old enough to spend a couple of hours at the kids club! Sometimes I feel they need a break from us as much as we do from them!

Tim continues to be good for lots of laughs, soarin, parasol carrying and always fun expressions! Loved your couple pic and cracked up at him mimicing Laurens pose.

So sorry you had real life invade your vacation, that sucks!! I'm happy you could finish the day with smiles and good food!

I must say though that even though I am enjoying all of your photos, the one depicting LLukes reaction to Laurens NOT singing is priceless, or as my generation would remember as a "kodak moment"!!

Really enjoying reading along. My daughter is getting her degree online. What do you teach?

Glad you are enjoying things so far. I teach for University of Phoenix, overall I love it!
Oh Lesley, I'm sooo sorry that you had a hard time with work related things while on holiday - not good! But ever so glad you had some lovely people there to cheer you up!

We can't wait to try the new Kim Possible attraction when we go - my boys LOVE Kim Possible! From the reports I'm reading it does look great fun!

Lauren's face seeing Remy at Chef's de France was priceless! And what a wonderful big brother Luke is trying to keep the surprise for her! Your kids are a credit to you - not sure my lot would do that for each other - well without coaxing from us anyhow!:rotfl2:

Another fabulous day hunni!

Carreen

Thanks Careen, glad you are enjoying things, the KP missions are awesome, your kids will love it!

Fab update hun, so sorry about the work issue, hope thats all sorted now:thumbsup2

lol at Lukes face in the Pokemon store. I didn't realise the Kim Possible attraction was so interactive, looks great fun.

Can't wait to read the next installment :cool1:
Thanks, glad you are enjoying it.
I was wondering if you know how long Remy will be out? I read he will be there until sometime in September but I hope that was wrong. We may get to go in November (need a finger crossing smiley here), and I hope he will still be there. Just wondering if you had heard about it???

I don't know how long Remy will be there, I heard Sept too but I don't know why they would take it away. I know, we need real world pixie dust. Good luck with returning to the rat race.

Yeah the missions are awesome, I have some video of them that I will share. Yes, we are dating ourselves, oh well!
Sorry the real world intruded on your Disney time and in such an unmagical way! I am glad Diane and her gang were able to help cheer you up though!
Thanks, yes Diane cheered me up immensely!

That email......yuck!! We work all year to be able to get away from day to day stressers and then that happens:mad: So glad Tim is so supportive:)

So glad you met up with Diane and family, looks like they sure did put a smile on your face....nice to have Disfriends like that:hug:

Thank you, dealing with that on vacation sure isn't fun, but yes we did end up having fun which was wonderful!

Lesley, did you end out getting the work issue all sorted out? What a bummer on your vacation! I had no idea that Remy was there! How fun. Lauren sure looks happy about it. What a curly haired little cutie she is. :)

Hi

Just wanted to let you know that I too have cried at Disney because of work so you are not alone. I found out 2 days before our last Disney trip in May that I am most likely getting laid off soon so I feel your pain.

I'm a long time lurker and love your trip reports. Keep up the good work! :worship:
So sorry about that, I hope you didn't get laid off and if you did things are o.k. for oyu now. Yeah, you definitely get a workout on those KP missions! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom to post, I appreciate it!
Lesley

Wow! You've gotten really far on your TR already! :cool1: I'm loving it as usual. Your kiddos are growing up so fast. It's fun to watch them grow through your TRs. How nice to have the luxury to sleep in and change your ADRs when you want because you have plenty of time!:thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had to have any time at your vacation ruined by work stuff. It's just too bad to have to deal with the "real world" when you are on vacation. I hope everything works out fine.

Looking forward to more!
Yes, the Jambo House is in the Main AKL building, they changed the DVC floors over to DVC rooms instead of the traditional AKL rooms, it is awesome! Glad you are enjoying things so far.

I'm sorry about the work problems. That really stinks. It would stink any time--but even more-so on vacation. I'm glad it's all worked out now. The Kim Possible thing looks like SO much fun! Sorry to hear that work got in the way of the magic, but I'm glad that you did not let it get you down for long.

The kids were just so stinkin' cute at the restaurant with Remy!
Yes, it didn't get me down for long thank goodness. Glad you enjoyed the Remy pics - he's awesome and the kids reactions were great.

great updates..sorry about the work stress though..ugh :(....but YAY for everything else. Your kids are too cute..i love that Luke was trying to keep Remy a suprise for Lauren..that was so sweet!!! :)
Thank you, you are too sweet! Thanks for reading/posting.

Glad you are catching up, I'm going at a quick pace this year, so much to report on. Thanks for reading/posting.
