Been at my new job since 12-15-03...

.... and yesterday I had to leave early because my dd called me and she was sick. My dh had to take a vacation day on Wednesday because ds didn't feel well and he had strep. Anyway- I now feel the pain of a working Mom. Going to get my dd was a "no brainer" but I felt badly leaving the work for everyone else.

I felt badly leaving the work for everyone else.

I'm sure they've left work for you before. I hope your kids getting to feeling better soon, Lorelei. A trip to WDW might make them feel better though.

I am thinking that you are not the first or the last to do that .. Welcome to the world of working parents.. I happen to have a great boss who understands the pressure of working parents - and me and my ex take rotate the days off when one of the kiddo's are sick . Hope everyone is getting better soon . both my kids were sick starting Thur this week . Michelle

That is why I love working for the same school district my kids are in. One school can't very well tell the nurse at another school I can't leave to pick up my child. They are so flexible, we get 10 sick days and I usually use close to all of them, what I don't use gets carried over for next year. I can take them for me or the kids. Also get snow days and all school holidays.
