Just curious, as I'll be sharing a cat. 5 with my 13-year old sister, and we would prefer not to share a bed - the beds can be separated into twins, right? I remember hearing this somewhere. Does anyone have any pictures?

I don't have any pictures, but yes. just ask your stateroom attendant and he/she will take care of it for you.

When I called the cruise line they said to let them know in advance if we wanted the beds seperated so they would have the romallset like that for our arrival...I wanted to make sure they were seperate, I had no desire to share a bed with my 73 year old mom!!!

On two of my cruises I had requested the beds be separated. This was not done in advance on either one. However, when I met our room attendant shortly after arriving, I mentioned it, and I was assured it would be done while we were at dinner and they are making up the room for the evening. This was done both times without any problem at all. You can also specify if you want the night stands in between the two beds, or on the outside of the beds. :)

Does the seperating bed apply to all staterooms? I'll be cruising for the first time in May, and this is one of the questions that arised. I too have no desire to share a bed with my Mother.
Thanks,
Stacey

Does anyone know the size of the Murphy pull down bed in the Category 4 (sleeps 5) room?

Thanks!

You're right, Dave, it was on the list, but we missed it! This was one of those cruises where we didn't see our stateroom hostess a lot (although we know she was there because we had awesome towel animals, including a peacock, and my clothes were always folded when we returned to the room). But it is on the list for March, and meanwhile we did at least get the laundry rooms!

My 220 lb., 6ft 2 son slept on the pull-down murphy bed in our Cat 4 Family Suite. It was fine for him, very comfy. Beware though, the only disadvantage is when the murphy bed is pulled down it lays infront of the door to the verandah. You can still go out to the verandah, but you have to climb over the bed.

It was a bit annoying only because our stateroom host was very prompt in turning down our beds, sometimes as early as 8:00 pm. It was hard for hubby and me to be all dressed up and want to go out on the verandah for some moonlight when we had to climb over the bed...it was a sight!!!!
