Bedbugs at POR

I checked my bed before I ever laid a thing down on it! I was pleased to find no bugs on either bed.

I saw a show the other day with my boys on Discovery channel called Verminators... or something like that. Its about extreme bug killers... hey they are boys and like gross shows :rotfl2:
Anyway.... they did a segment on bedbugs. Did you know they have bed bug sniffing dogs now? just like drug dogs :lmao:

wouldn't it be great if Disney had one of these dogs on staff and spot checked the rooms? Of course we would hear people complain about dog hair and allergies but we can just hide them in the closet :rotfl2:

I would rather a few strands of dog hair then a bed full of bugs :rotfl2:

Whoa - I am staying there in a month............neer had any trouble with bedbugs before but my DD is allergic to the detergent that they wash their sheets in - terrible rash all over her arms and legs.....:sad1:

:jumping1: Your friends must have just been there when they ( the bedbugs were resort hopping):rainbow: next will be FQ:jumping1: then CSR:rainbow:

What if u get picked-up by the disney bus,can u tell them not 2 put your luggage in your room :confused3 till u check it out for bed bugs pirate: . OR will they give u a hassel about that:rolleyes: I don't think they will but u never know:confused3 . since they know they have a problem.

Do you think it comes in lime green?:confused3

You have got to be joking ??!!!
Why do some folks make up such silly nonsense ??!!
It is a beautiful resort with clean rooms....
ENJOY !!!

I have stayed at POR almost every year since I was 10 (now 21).I have never had a problem or heard of any complaints from others who have stayed there. I am going again in May and am not that worried (knock on wood).I have heard a complaint about a mold and bed bug issues in the Grand Floridian, but I know that was last year and they have since taken care of those issues. The only way you know for sure is to check your bed as soon as you get into the room.

BTW: My boyfriend travels for work and had gotten bed bug bites in an expensive NYC hotel (paid for by his company- so at least he didnt waste his own money) so it goes to show no matter where you are or what price it is...there is always a chance for bedbugs!

I will seek a doctor for a medical report...First step, having some credible report and documentation....

You'd better believe I would be upset with the prices at some of these resorts...

One family said they were bitten by the bugs at the Disney All-Star Movie Resort. They backed out of an interview
after they said Disney offered them $5,000 and a free trip to keep quiet.

Wow. I kinda want to get some now! :rotfl:

I once thought I had them, but turned out they were just sand flea bites - much, much more common than bed bugs (thankfully!). It is always the best first defense to check - however, they can be sneaky - you will never see the actual bugs unless there is a full blown infestation, like that case with Motel 6 in Chicago. You may see poppy seed specks (excrement:sad2: ) and maybe some blood spot/flecks - it may be very minimal. Check mattress, headboard, baseboard, nightstand and drawers if you use them. Powder coating on head board or in drawers is a tipp-off the room has been treated. Because they come in with the guests, the room may have been fine till the last guest arrived - so always check (add it to the lysol routine). While bed bugs are not unusual they are not typical.....i just wish they could come up with something that would kill em fast w/o harming US!

Maybe we should all just be deloused and our clothing heated to 150 degrees for two days prior to admittance to a Disney resort.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm not really sure what the hotel can do if a guest brings them in, there are no signs when they check out, then they turn up while the next guest is staying there. It sucks, but oh well. I try not to worry about this kind of thing, and I really hate bugs, ever since I got a spider bite on my eye in my sleep that swelled half my face up for 5 days, on the morning of school pictures as a kid. Ugh. Luckily, it doesn't seem to hard to check for them.

I saw a show on dateline just last week about this in NY and they had those dogs, but they showed how to visually check too. I wonder if its as easy as they make it out to be though.
