Bed Quality/Comfort

You know how all the big resort companies like Westin, Hyatt and such are making a big change to VERY COMFY beds. How do the Disney beds rate? I am especially interested in the GF. I am into really soft topped beds that you "melt" in.

Any recent experience?

The beds are pretty comfy at the YC... I think they all use the same mattresses, except for the ones at the Swan and Dolphin. I usually like big squishy beds too. Of course I was so exhausted at the end of the day I would pass out on just about any kind of bed.

The Swan and Dolphin Heavenly bed is a Simmons.

The new pillow top plush beds at the deluxe and DVC resorts are Sealy Ultra Plush. Both are wonderful beds and very comfy.

I had been spoiled by several stays at the Dolphin and Swan and thought I'd miss their beds when staying at the YC last month. I'm happy to report that while they didn't have the wonderful comforters that the S/D does the beds are very comfortable!

The beds at Poly and BWI are also high quality and provide a wonderful night's sleep. I have no doubt that the GF also uses high quality mattresses.

While they are by no means "plush" and you don't "melt" into them, they were very comfortable for a hotel bed. MUCH better than the beds at Pop Century. The Disney Deluxe hotels definitely have better beds than the values and moderates. Our bed a few years ago at POR was the second worst bed I have ever slept on in my life (#1 worst was a Pop).

I agree with you about Pop, the beds are horrible! We stayed at CSR last November and I was surprised that they had pillow-top mattresses that were pretty comfortable, maybe they upgraded there. We've also stayed at the Dolphin and those beds are "heavenly".
