Becoming Obsessive...

It shouldn't hurt your chances.. I think I would email (or call) and just ask what went wrong and what you could do better for next time when you apply. I think I would probably also throw in there that you were accepted last time, and even added more roles this time. As long as you're not snotty or whiny about it, I can't see why they would look at it as a negative thing.

I think one of the difficult things about their selection process is that the person that interviews you, is not the one that decides if you're in or not. Somethings seems odd about that to me, especially since a written report of what someone says could convey a completely different personality from how the person actually is.

That was HUGE for me. I wish I knew what my interviewer wrote down! I'm sure she was faithful and honest...just wish I could have been recorded...?idk :)

sorry i didn't mean to be rude. your post came across as if you didn't quite understand that you actually received your notification that they promised in the 4-6 week time frame and i was attempting to clarify that for you. I mean, if you didn't understand, why would you say that you are still going to call at the 6 week mark when they told you that they would let you know between now and december?

could you clarify why you would call at the 6 week mark then? yeah, i know the whole "i gotta make plans" thing. that applies to everyone, though. i dont think there is anyone who gets pending who doesn't want to know so they can make plans one way or the other.

my line of thought that the only people who would call outside of when disney says to contact them would be (a) people who think disney is just sitting on a decision and being mean or (b) people who think that calling will expedite the process for them.

obviously my (a) and (b) doesn't apply to you, so I'm just curious why one would call outside of the times when disney is saying to?

I know the pending letter is the 6 week time frame notification. I really don't understand why you are so concerned if I call them in a month and are giving me such a hard time about it. If you read all of this thread and some other threads and in the facebook group you'll see that PLENTY of people have called or are planning to call in due time so I don't really understand why you're so concerned if I call in a month to check on the status of my application.

Yeah. It seems like a flawed system to me, since the expression of you isn't coming from you, yourself, but rather is somebody's else's opinion. Oh well!

well, that's the psych minor asking that. im just curious about the human thought process. that combined with my business majors and general belief in the good of the cp tends make me ask such things. you seemed to be open about everything and came across as someone who would share your line of thought. i was obviously wrong, and I'm sorry.

i shy away from facebook, but I know what you are saying. but the old saying about just because everyone else is doing it doesn't make it ok also pops into my head. blame my grandma on that.

i think asking "why am I pending" is a much more valid question to ask in 6 weeks or even now rather than "when am i going to find out?" the answer to "why am i pending" could lead you to be able to estimate when you will get a response. like if you are pending because you had to do a background check, then they could give you an estimated time when they will get the results of that back which would then be right around when they will be able to make a decision. asking "when am I going to find out?" is asking a question that they already answered.

best of luck to you.
kimberly.

Well, personally, if I don't hear back by my 6wk mark I plan on calling to make sure that they have all the information they need from me. I work in an office environment very similar to the one CP and CS recruiters likely work in and I've seen first hand how easy it is for things to fall through the cracks. I see no issue in showing them that you are doing everything you can to help the process and make their job easier. I sure wish the clients I work with would do that haha!

Just saying that could be personality type (c).

I got rejected.

I've wanted this more than anything since I was 10 years old.

I got accepted last semester and turned it down to go this semester. This is just mindblowing to me.

HOW DID I MISS THIS!?

I'm SO sorry Caroler!

I wouldn't send any email. I'd call and speak with someone directly. That way they can hear the sincerity and sadness in your voice.

Pixie Dust to you, my friend. :wizard:

SO sorry CursedCarolers! :sad2: You should definitely call.

update: I just got a pending letter! How many ppl have been rejected after getting it? I know ppl have been accepted after it but...

I applied for the DLR CP today, too, and put more roles than I did for WDW. I know it's more competitive, but I'm hoping for the best! CA isn't as inticing to me but in all reality, it would be pretty nice to experience the west coast! Still hoping I get accepted to WDW!

As far as I've seen it's been about a 50-50 ratio.

Pixie Dust your way! You have to make it! I want to meet you! :wizard:

Aw I forgot! Oh well, that's the spirit! 2 Disneys in 1 Year!:dance3:

Ahhh this is driving me crazy...and I keep feeling like Disney is getting shoved in my face in the most unexpected places all the time. This weekend at work I overheard like three families talking about WDW and I was just watching Family Guy and there was a part where it was animated Disney style and they were acting like Disney characters...ahhh it is driving me crazy! Disney, stop appearing in unexpected places and let me think about other things!

Excuse me, I need to scream...AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! It's been almost a month and I am still pending. I even sent them an email saying that I was still interested and I would be happy with any role they put me in. No response. I can't take this anymore. This is making it very difficult to focus on my school work and I'm in my last semester. This is the worst senioritis ever. Thanks Disney.

Patience is a virtue, but it can also eat you alive.

Keep pushin' through kid. You're gonna make it ;) Remember the Disney attitude when it comes to schoolwork. Walt wouldn't want you to slack! He loved education. Just throw all your energy into school until it's your day to celebrate!

You're absolutely right, Ash. You and my recent grad cousin said the same thing. I'm a bad girl, but I'll try to do better before my grades drop. It's just that when I'm overwhelmed I tend to ignore the problem instead of facing it head on. I'm taking 6 classes, most are easy, except Deep Ecology. Just in this one class I have to read 5 novels plus several thick hand outs given out every week in class, plus I have to write three 7pg papers (or 2 papers and a creative project/presentation). :scared1: After all these years in college, I've never had a class with so much work.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So I gave in and called even though the PL said to wait until Dec. 1st. I couldn't help myself! The nice lady on the phone said they're still reviewing my application and it takes longer for DL b/c their process is different...but I will hear "very soon"!
