Dave: Good technician or not, I can see how you would inspire all the men in your squadron!

But remind me not to let you near any of my power tools.

And big yay for being able to do calf raises again--that a good sign. And isn't it interesting that you (we) get sore from too much sitting. There was a time when I wouldn't have believed it, but it's so true.
Wendy: Better-living-through-chemistry? Ooooh, my college days! It was fun while it lasted, but now I'm like you--prefer that lifestyle change. I can totally see you as a cougar, btw. Welcome to the pride.

Oh, and I just have to tell you that getting up at 3 a.m. to get your run in....that's truly committed to your lifestyle.
Lisa: So it looks like you're exceeding your goal times pretty frequently AND having runs where that goal pace is one you can maintain for longer and longer distances.

I'm so happy for you!!! I swear, I'll get on the RW plan eventually--I haven't asked DOOD how it's working for him (or if he's really following it), but I will.
I'm even happy for your picnic., Dick Dastardly! I realize you're not looking forward to it, but I'm willing to bet is was more fun than you thought it would be, once you got there. Hopefully yours was filled with fresh foods and heathy options, not just stuff dripping in various sauces. Speaking of which, your description of garden goodies made my mouth water....
Connie: Oh, now I'm impressed with you. See, the housekeeping schedule will never go on my board. Some things I am willing to ignore. But like you, I like the planning stages and am working on follow-through. I don't really believe you, though, given your description of learning another program as back-up!
I love your and
Wendy's responses to Cindy with regards to the all-or-nothing approach and to Stacy's doctor. And I didn't know the ACE conclusions about the exercise ball. Interesting, as I know it's been promoted for use in offices. I used one, and I agree with the assessment. But it did help me think about posture more--good for me!
Stacie: Wow, you really had an active day on Tuesday--that's more proof that doctor doesn't know beans about your capabilities. You're right about needing to eat throughout the day and to hydrate--but you know that. As you say, "lesson learned.: (I'm sorry you learned it that way, though.)
I actually used an exercise ball in my old office. Truthfully, I didn't notice much with my abs when I was just sitting. But I did use it to do ab work and stretching while it was there. I'm not entirely sure it was worth the constant comments I endured about the ball being in my office.
Tracey: A cougar is ageless. It's all in the attitude, baby. Purrrrrr.
Mmm, cucumber salad. I'm adding some summer salads to my menu, and this sounds tasty. I'm doing the same thing--trying to do speed work before I start training for January. I'm not sure I like doing it, but I feel it's good for me. (I like eating salads, though, and they're good for me.) For the record, you've now made me want to pet a shark. Who knew this would fascinate me?

How did your TM run go? It's humid here, too, with expected storms every day for the next week!
Beth: I'm glad you're back and hope the conference was useful and even fun! As for eating, you're back on track. Plus, I'm sure you were careful in your carb-eating. And sooooo consistent with the WOs. You and Nancy make a good team that way, I'm sure. Great tip about snack packing--and with the airlines' ever-changing fee structures, we might really have very little choice if we want to avoid exorbitant costs. (Good for me, but annoying.)
AmyK: Wow, it's amazing how Delena has grown. That first year goes by quickly!!!! I'm also going to say congratulations on you and your DH making the decision not to pursue the CO job. It does sound like the sacrifices, especially with the family, would be too much. And you definitely want to have DH around these early years with Delena! Plus, there's ToT to look forward to now.

I hope you feel well for your trip--it would be a pity to go out of town and be sick the entire time. PD for you!!
Yea, fresh mozzarella! Mmmm. I love summer, if for no other reason than there are so many great greens out there, with yummy (or is that yummylicious, Mike?) toppings.
As for me: Well, I did weigh myself and am up a pound. I'm not surprised, what with the living single, but need to get on that pound before it becomes two, especially since supposedly I'm trying to lose and not maintain my weight. I did 4 miles on the TM tonight, as I got a late start to my day. Looks like they're putting in new ARC machines--at least I know where some of my monthly fee goes.
Other thing of note, an observation really. DOOD and I send each other little packages while he's away (or while I am). What does it say that I send him things like a yoga DVD or a World Soccer magazine, and he sends me things like a Starbucks card?
