Becoming Lean, Mean, Endurace Event Machines in 2008

Good Morning Lean Meaners!!!

I finally feel like I'm getting a little more energy back and I actually want to work out. Day 1 of Gluten Free eating was a success. I made spaghtetti last night and saved it for dinner on Thursday. I also made some gluten-free muffins. They turned out ok. The mix I bought had a picture of blueberry muffins on the front so I assumed they were blueberry. Wrong. Just plain mix. So, I borrowed some choc chips from my MIL. I will say there weren't quite as good as the gluten-full mix, but they are better than I expected. :thumbsup2 We are going to Wilson tonight and I'm taking my ipod and garmin. I thought about trying to get back on C25K Week 2, but I'm afraid it will be too hot. I asked Matt to put my bike in the car so I may try to ride my bike for a while. For some reason I feel like I may be cooler on the bike than trying to walk/run in the heat.

Tracey...Thanks for the book advice! That is intersting about the nail and hydration. Hmmm

Mike...You are going to rock that tri! You'll do great!

Amy...Yay on your 5K! That pic of you and your daughter is very cute! Does she always scruntch her nose like that? It is the cutest!

Deb...I would like to be a morning walker/runner, but I just can't get out of bed right now. We're not even getting to work until close to 9. I am hoping the gluten-free will help w/ that, but in general, I am an evening person more so than morning. Ideally, I would like to workout mid-day but my job just doesn't allow me to do that.

Lisa...1000 bails of hay? :faint: How long does something like that take? Exactly how do someone go about gathering 1000 bails of hay?

Dave...Your bull story is funny!!! But I agree, who has a bull for a pet? At least he was being friendly!

Everyone else...

Good morning Meaners!!! So, no one has music to share for the virtual party? We do have the beer, and margeritas so maybe that's all we need!
party:

So, I don't have a baseball game tonight! I didn't get up early to run, so I will attempt to do stretch class and run on the TM tonight. I do like the feeling of getting done in the morning though...... maybe I will get up tomorrow to get it done while it's cool. Tomorrow is a day off, but sometimes my LTO and my day off is when I don't get to run..... so it would help to get it done early......but I hate getting up! :headache: Such a headache.

Eating went well yesterday, until evening.......baseball didn't end until 8:30 and we picked up a pizza on the way home.....and I was to tired to fix something different for me. So, I ate the pizza.....sometimes life takes over in ways that I don't want. I didn't have an easy solution for a meal.....((((need to get to the grocery store! )))))) So I took the 'easy' way out. I hate that.....but I also know that I need to just move on and get over it! :rolleyes1

Lisa: Where are you girlfriend????? You are usually here early, and I miss your bright, and shiny face this morning!

WWDave: Your ToT party sounds awesome! Wish I was going to be there!

Stacie: You'll have to let me know about how the gluten-free goes! I don't respond well to carbs in bread and such and oftened wondered if I have an allergy or something. Maybe that is why low carb worked for me???? All my gastric problems resolved in a week on low carb......who knows? Maybe I had irritable bowel too......:confused3 Hope it works for you!

Amy: Wish I could wear a boniband, but alas, I had one occassion to wear a head band and it was a disaster! My hair sticks straight up in the back and I look really goofy ((((not in a good way)))). I will have to stick to my stupid hat!

Mike: Good choice for the 'adult' beverage! Glad you can come to the party!!! ((((if you have time in your awesome training schedule!!!)))))))

Jeanne: Are you attending my virtual party too????? I will be interested in what you will bring!

Wendy: I think the virtual party will fit in your cost savings plan! Can't get any cheaper than that!

Well, :wave2: to everyone else! Hope you have a great Leaner and Meaner day!

Wagon tip of the day: Veggies! We all know that veggies are good for us, but I think we all get in a rut with buying and fixing the same ones all the time. Your challenge this week is try something new! Wether it's a new and different veggie, or fixing one differently, I want everyone to make an attempt to change things up. This is the time to get fresh, local vegetables cheaper so......... try something new!!!! Maybe a new color too! I saw that they have purple cauliflower! That would be awesome in a veggie tray for a 'party' or something!

Beth

Hey Lean Mean Brigade!

Sigh. I love the company, but between them and the hot, muggy weather I am not working out. I'm not eating well, either. I have promised myself that once I have my house back I will at least make the workouts, and eating should be much easier.

Beth -- Sometimes we all need a little pizza in our lives. I know it isn't your first choice, but once in a blue moon is ok, really. This attitude is not helping me with weight loss, but since you make such good choices most of the time, please don't beat yourself up!

Stacie -- I do much better with morning workouts, but I agree, it is hard to get out of bed. I have to recondition myself every time I decide to do it, and it takes a few weeks before I feel "normal" and can easily get up. Just one more thing for me to work on! :cool1:

Tracey -- Has dh started the new job yet? If so, how is it working for your family? :cutie:

Amykab -- You're daughter is adorable! I love toddlers! That's what I need to do -- have a detox week after the company leaves. I'm going to have to think about this. Does anyone have meal/snack suggestions for detox? I need to get my body back off the sugar as much as possible, but still feel satisfied. :confused3

Mike -- That tri has your name on it, and you are going to own it! :woohoo:

Debra -- I actually think I would have made a good librarian. I just would have gotten in trouble for reading instead of working. A library is like a big candy store for me. I want some of everything, and I'm easily distracted! :upsidedow

Dave -- I spit on my computer laughing from your bull story! :lmao: Who has a bull as a pet?! Oh, more trivia -- the kid who played Charlie in Willie Wonka (the Gene Wilder version) is now a large animal veterinarian in NY. I assume that would include bulls. :rolleyes1

Lisa -- I hope you have left the last of the hay and ticks behind, and are back to making those blueberry muffins! I'll take your lobster! popcorn::

:cheer2: Vic:cheer2:

Connie -- You had such a good attitude, you were going to have a good time, boat or sinking boat! :wizard:

Jeanne -- I think you barely have time to be lean and mean these days, you're too busy keeping track of all those new Teammates Dave keeps sending us! :lovestruc

Everyone have a great Lean Mean day, I'm getting in six miles of walking with going to meetings, but not posting any impressive times...

Maria

AmyK...Thanks for the info about the BondiBands. I went to look at the site and they're really cute. Do you get the performance ones? Lisawhat about you? I like the matching outfits too, although I admit that most of my outfits are mix and match. My current fav is my black running skirt with a white adidas wicking shirt. I just got a new pair of Asics running shorts that I love and they're coming in a close second along with some new under armour shorts.
Stacie...Glad you're getting a little energy back. I'm sure you'll find the right balance soon.
Beth...I do believe that you've become the official party planner!
Lisa....I told my DS about the YouBar and he's really interested. Please keep us posted if you order some. We just got our RW yesterday and I read the skirt article. I also read the articles about the 3 people planning to run a 1/2 marathon. I was interested in the "beginners" schedule and thinking I might give it a try. Sounds like you're keeping busy with "farming" chores and busy kids.:)
Maria...Thanks for asking about DH job. He started last week and he hit the floor running. He really seems to like it, but is just getting to know more people and figure out the lay of the land. The exciting thing is they have a gym in the building and a personal trainer that he can use. Plus they have a cappucino machine and what he calls "a machine that squirts out juice to add to your water to make it flavored". I'm thinking I'd love to have one of each of those in my house.:rotfl2:

I got in my 3 1/2 yesterday on the TM and will do an easy 2 today along with Pilates. I'm in serious need of finding something to mix it up! Our church is doing some karate classes that I thought might be fun! I'm with the rest of you and finding it a little hard to make the time to get it all in. I put on my workout clothes first thing in the morning, but usually end up getting to it around 4ish. Take care Lean Meaners and have a strong day!

Hello Mean Leaners! No time to read all that has been written so I will just jump right in. I know I keep singing the same song, but it's true....my life is a whirlwind right now. No complaints because it is all good stuff, but my workouts have suffered terribly. I keep trying to get back on track and then, wouldn't you know it, another trip comes up. What's a girl to do!

Beth: Yes, please let me come to the party! I kinda missed the ground rules, so do I have to bring something healthy? Really, aren't "party" and "healthy foods" mutually exclusive? How about some nice dark chocolate? Oh, and maybe a little red wine to wash it down? I like those health foods.

Just some responses to the most recent posts.......

Connie: loved the boat story......glad you didn't get zapped with huge fees for the damages. :thumbsup2
Dave: I always knew you were full of bull. :rotfl2:
Amykab: your daughter is such a cutie :cutie:
Stacie: good luck with the gluten-free diet....that is not an easy thing to do so you have my utmost respect and admiration. Loved the "final" binge! popcorn::
Maria: I so agree with you.....Dave IS making me work hard.
Stacey, Mike, Vic, Debra, Wendy, Lisa (and anyone else I may have missed) :flower3:

Mike: For Macallan's 18 yr old Scotch, I'll skip the soda too! :drinking: I'm glad to hear you're in countdown mode for the tri and focusing on your swimming. Note I said focusing, because I feel that regardless of the emotion, your concentration level on that leg will help you do well in it! Hey, petrified got me through the Goofy!

Dave: Party, party, party! I had no idea how much recreational drinking went into the Disney events, but I'm not shocked. Not even surprised. Delighted, though! I'll join you for the beer laps if I can substitute other alcoholic drinks. Your picnic idea--the eating healthier--is a great idea, too, whether for Disney event weekends or in general. :thumbsup2 Oh, and you went drinking with Jeanne?? Oh, I know she put you under the table if the stories she tells about the Minnie are any indication!!

AmyK: Switchback, huh? You'll have to give us your review of it. I'm not a beer-drinker, but DOOD loves to try new beer. Keeps a beer journal. (Mine's chocolate, with woefully few entries these days.) Your reasoning behind the coordinating outfits makes sense--I wish I was that put together at any point in my day. :lmao: You definitely deserve a rainbow of shoes! And bondibands! (That's a great price, btw!)

Tracey: I'm glad your DH is looking forward to meeting us--I sometimes think we scare off as many significant others as we attract. (Or maybe it's just me who's scary.) DOOD's warming up to the idea, and the beer chasers are definitely a push in the right direction. Thanks for the info on the blackberries--it's time to find a farm! :woohoo:

It's great to hear your DH is settling into his new job. Of course, with those perks there's a lot to like about it. Flavored-water thingamabob, cappuccino machine, and a gym with a personal trainer? Are they hiring? :rotfl2: The karate classes sound fun, if you're looking for a new challenge. It would give you a new outfit to wear, too.

Stacie: I'm so impressed that you're bringing your bike along; that's a great idea, especially if it's going to be uncomfortably hot. I'm glad you're experimenting with your gluten-free foods. I've actually pencilled in a stop to the Gluuteny bakery for Friday, just so I can give one of their treats a try. I've been meaning to do so for a while, of course, but haven't "earned" my treat. But I've been working it this week, so I'm planning on giving the bakery treats a try--splitting something with DOOD, of course..

Beth: That LTO is sneaky, isn't it? I know it's small comfort, but I'm impressed that you ate pizza and that you're committed to moving beyond yesterdays. I mean, pizza's not necessarily that unhealthy AND you made it a point to eat something substantial, even if it was late at night. Much better than just snacking on something or, worse, skipping a meal. Good luck with tomorrow!

Maria: Ah, houseguests. Who was it that compared them to fish? 3 days and they start to stink? Six miles of walking to meetings? Even if you don't think the time is impressive, I think you deserve some bling for doing double duty with work and working out!

Jeanne: Busy, busy, busy! (Said in my best Professor Hinkle voice--the evil magician from Frosty the Snowman.) Please do bring the dark chocolate and wine. Such healthy decadence. And I know you (and Nancy) can handle your decadence in grand style! ;)

Lisa, Wendy, Cindy, Vic, AmyB, Bill, and all other Lean Meaners: :cheer2:

As for me: Back to cooking meals again, now that DOOD's home. He's just not as enamored of sandwiches and salads as I am. Me, I think it's too hot for such eating, but he's a Hungry Man. (Remember those tv-dinner ads?) So we're compromising. I make quick meals for him and salads/sandwiches for me. Hmmmm, not sure how that's a compromise now that I think about it. Anyway, any hearty summer meal suggestions would be appreciated. In the running/WO front, I'm still hanging on to my meager running mileage. But I'm pleased to note the intensity in my XT has gone up, as has some of my upper-body weights on the circuit machines.

Hello from the Tampa Marriott - Waterside.

Been here since Monday for a conference. Two days of seminars. Oh boy!!Headed back to the house tomorrow morning.

Went out for a 4 miler this evening. Suffered from slappy feet. Just couldn't get my rythym down for some reason. But, got in the mileage and that's what matters.

Debra - Sorry to hear about your dad. Good thoughts on the way.

The Macallan single malt scotch? Mmmmm, my favorite. :) When I was stationed in Germany we were always training in the UK, and many of those trips were spent in Scotland. Besides attempting to drink as many different German beers, I attempted to drink as many different single malts as I could. The Macallan was the best, IMO.

Y'all take care.

The Macallan single malt scotch? Mmmmm, my favorite. The Macallan was the best, IMO.

Put me down for Famous Grouse 12 year Gold Reserve single malt. Since I am out, I'll just have a glass of the regular label. Thank Deb & Vic for making me think of wetting my whistle. Cheers!

I like the Famous Grouse a lot too!

Of course, Dewar's and Glen-almost-anything is pretty tasty as well!

I like that we have Scotch drinkers amongst us....

Good morning Lean Meaners. Wednesday is my day off and official play day, hence my absence. Never fear, I did not leave my Lean Mean buddies behind!

Scotch: Never had the stuff. I am a beer girl myself. Blueberry ale and Guiness makes for a fabulous black and blue, my current favorite. I did try some Remy-Martin once and it was okay. I have also had to chug Black Velvet at a party before and that was NOT okay. :sad2: I stick to beer because it keeps me off the table........:rolleyes1

Bondiband: Best invention since sliced bread. No really. My hair is pretty short and every other hair band bunches up the back. Not the BondiBand. They fit perfect. My SIL was a doubter too until she tried one during Great Bay. She now owns 6. I have 7 (you know one for every day of the week) and I have a coupon from Great Bay so I may have to order more.

Coordinating outfits: Yes, I am a diva runner. Diva everything really. I feel good when I look good. Modeling hazard. I managed to lose the weight thing, the self-esteem thing et all but the "wear it like you own it" has always stuck with me. I consider it a good thing. My ToT outfit is my chocotreuse running skirt, WISH singlet and my lime green Bondiband. I have yet to find the coordinating kicks though so I am not responsible for anything below my knees!!

I am so far behind now, I really cannot comment on much else. I miss a day and feel VERY out of touch. I need to start utilizing the features of my new Pearl more!!

From the Great North Woods, I did my 4 miles in the heat/humidity. It was not stellar but I managed to stay below the 10 mpm pace at 9:57. I am happy with that. My eating yesterday was very good. I packed veggies, strawberries and clementine oranges along with yogurt and lots of water and we headed to the local beach. It was 93 degrees here. :scared1: Today it is supposed to be in the 80s but the humidity is gone thank goodness. I have 7 on tap today. We have another 1000ish bales that will be ready to get in on Saturday. Any takers??????

Morning everybody! Pilates went pretty good last night. It just confirmed that I have minimal core strength and flexibility, but that just makes me that much more determined to keep up with it and improve.

Co-irkers are driving me to a new level of insanity :furious: Seriously, is it too much to ask that if you use the last of a general lab supply that we all use on a daily basis, to either go and order it yourself or nicely ask someone else to do it if you are too busy??? Also, the last time I checked, pajamas were NOT on the list of acceptable things to wear to work. :furious:

Dave CASH??? :confused3 What's that? I NEVER carry cash anymore, which I know is not a good idea, but I've really gotten reliant on my debit card. I figure DH and I would drink at least 2 each, so that's almost 30 dollars. :scared1: You could easily get a couple 12 packs of good beer for that much.

Stacie DD's nose scrunches are a pretty new thing she just started doing, especially when she sees the camera! :) My coworkers DW went gluten free ( I am not sure why, I just think she did it just to do it), but she has sent in some gluten free baked goods with him for us to try at work, and some of them are really good.

Tracey My bondi band is just the regular kind. I even bring mine to work sometimes. It keeps the hair out of my face when I have to be at the lab bench for extended periods of time.

Debra A beer journal is a great idea. I really wish I had thought of doing that earlier in my beer drinking career. With all the breweries and specialty beer stores we have visited, I would venture to guess it is easily between 500-750 beers.

Lisa Another 1000 bales of hay?? :scared1: I am heading up to the Northeast (VT) tomorrow and am hoping for relief from the stinkin' heat and humidity in FL. Your post also made me realize I need to start considering what my outfit is going to be for TOT.

Hi to everyone I missed!

Have a good day everyone :yay:

Hey Meaners! Had lots of stuff to do this week. I can never decide what's more difficult getting ready to take a vacation or getting back from one! Btw, we had a junk motor that we use for parts and the mount fits exactly, so now we are only out the motor rental, even if the guy doesn't come through with the bucks......and the lower unit isn't damaged! :confused3 The poor boat is still drying out, but it gives DOOC a great excuse for a boat makeover. He has already been plotting and planning how to cut and paste it the way he wants it. But the bow is still full of river water. But we haven't found any more fish! :rotfl:

Debra Sorry to hear about your daddy. I hope everything works out. -- A beer journal.....now that's funny. Ever grill a turkey? I did one just two days ago. Looking forward to DOOC's hunting trip not cooking, very little cleaning and maybe I will do a backsplash in my kitchen!

Party?? I will bring the wine and some beer. I make them and have lots of flavors! I have dark and light beers and lagers and country and fine wines! Who said this was a dry county?? :confused3

Amy and Tracey I have long hair so a pony works, but the really cool item is a Pony-O. Holds my hair without pulling, pinching, or yanking my hair out!

Stacie Good luck on the gluten free diet. I am sure that you will make it work for you. I personally try to limit my grains. I don't do very well with them.

Lisa Congrats on the hay. How many more times will you be doing that this summer. I used to buck hay. $.50 a bail was great pay for the crew!

Everybody else - :wave2: And don't forget to bring the scotch, a nice change of pace from beer and wine!

From the Great Plains atop the Cap Rock, things are wet and humid. I had to go buy a bill of goods, yesterday, so I didn't get much exercise in. I gained on our happy little boat trip, so I am back to counting the calories on the Bodybugg religiously. (travel make things harder....okay, not really, it makes misbehaving EASIER!) This morning I placed an order for a dreadmill. That way, I have no excuses! The price dropped another $100 making it less than 1/2 of MSRP, so I figured now was as good a time as any to buy.

Y'all make a healthy day.....exit stage right!

Good Day! I'm sitting here eating my lunch. Tuna salad w/ some Pecan/Rice crackers. The crackers are interesting, but taste ok w/ the tuna on top! Peaches and FF Jello.

My dad is a Scotch drinker. Scotch and Water or his own mixed drink concoction--Mello Yellow, Chrerry Juice, 1 cherry and a shot or 1 of scotch. I can't have any beer anymore...gluten free thing. I did like a Corona or the the Margaritaville Landshark Lager. It was good. Guess I'll have stick to the margaritas now. Darn! :goodvibes

So I did bike yesterday. 30 min, 4.5 miles. Is that good? :confused3 Slow, average? I'm not sure about how to ride it really. Do I set the gears to pedal fast, but I feel like I'm going no where, or do I "Power" pedal so I can really feel it in my legs? At the gym it seems I'm pedalling faster and getting more distance.

Connie... Good news on the boat?

Lisa...More hay? Good grief. What do you do with it? Sell it? Use it?

Time to get back to work...

Deb, Mike, Dave, Vic, Tracey, Amy, Beth, Maria, Jeanne...and anyone I missed...Our group is growing!

Stacie

Regarding your bike speed and distance; slow, average or fast are all relative measures. I am much faster than my 6 yr old, but much slower than Lance Armstrong.

you have to remember that in a gym, it is air-conditioned, there is no wind resistance, and no uphills to contend with...of course you can go farther and faster.

Personally, I try to keep the same pedal cadence (# of rotations per minute) constant...if you are going up a hill, you should use a lower gear. If you are on a flat, you can use a higher gear. If you try for a balance of power and cadence, you will be in the right gear.

Mike

Good afternoon Meaners.......we have a great set up for our PARTY! I love that most people are bringing adult beverages!!! :cool1: I think at this point, we have a great time in a bottle! I have never had scotch, so I love that I will be trying something new (virtually)......(((((maybe I should get a little bottle of it to try for real!))))))

So, today's my day off, and of course all the errands and jobs I have had to do today has interferred with my workout. I haven't taken a day off this week, so it looks like it's today!

Eating is again under control. Lets keep it that way!!!!

Mike: You are racking up the miles!!!! You deserve a little adult beverage!

Lisa: I am glad you checked in today......I missed you yesterday! More hay baling huh? I would help if I could......( )

Jeanne: I am glad to hear you are coming to my "party" a little red wine would be great (and healthy!!!) for us. Your like is really taking over, isn't it? I hope you are having fun with it! Nice to hear that your trip to visit the Greek went well!

Well, gotta cut this short.......playoff game today.

****anybody up for the last wagon tip yet???? Try a new veggie!!!!!

Beth

Happy Friday to Everyone!

W2D2 yesterday, so I got in a couple miles. Went MUCH better than Tuesday's effort, even though I was a bit sore from the Pilates. I should be able to wrap up week 2 on Saturday or Sunday.

I forgot to post this picture from my trip. My attempt at trying to be photojournalistic/artistic.
16aeiyf.jpg

I am at work for a bit this morning and I'll be leaving around lunchtime to get DD at daycare and then we'll be headed to the airport. The last time DD was on a plane, she was 8 weeks old and slept the entire time. It will be interesting to see how this trip goes. We did buy her a seat ( she is way too much of a squirmy worm to hold on our laps) so she'll be in her car seat. And I have tons of crackers and puffs packed for her for snacks. She is not too amused by DVD's yet.

DD will be getting to spend some time with her cousins in VT. My brother has 3 kids under 3! :scared1::scared1: Boy/Girl Twins who are 14 months and an almost 3 year old girl.! I went to target last night for a few things and found coordinating outfits for all 4 kids for about 22 dollars total!! They had tons on clearance! We're going to have their pics taken all together.

Anyhow, I suppose I should actually go do some work!

I hope everyone has a good week! :) :)

Amy

Good Morning!
Jeanne....Life is crazy, isn't it!
Debra...Yum, we're sandwich eaters too during the summer. I say "we" meaning everyone but Daddy! He likes a "real meal", although I can't complain because he's pretty easy to please. We just eat really light some nights and then others we have a hot meal. I try to stick to the crock pot and the grill. Sounds like you're doing well with the cross training. I'm amazed when I watch the Olympic trials and see Dara Torres (sp?) step out of the pool. Her shoulders are AMAZING!
Vic...Tampa sounds divine....oops you were working. Sorry!
Jeff...Hey there! If Tampa sounded good, Hawaii sounds even better!
Mike...Still training hard....make sure someone documents that Tri with pics so we can see you in action!;)
Lisa...You're getting faster all the time. Lucky you, heading to the beach. And...how could you possibly have more hay? City girl question, what do you do with it all?
Amy...PJ's to work? Have a fun vacation! I love the pic of the fireplace with my current choice of reading and an empty bottle of wine. Perfect Day!
Connie....Now I'm curious about the Pony-O. I'll have to google it. I have longer hair too and am always a ponygirl. My problem right now is keeping my bangs and sweat out of my eyes.
Stacie...Sounds like a healthy lunch. Are things any better at work?

Ladies, I went to Marshall's a couple of days ago and found Movin' Comfort bras for $7.99. They are blue, but for the price they can't be beat! Oh, and Under Armour shorts, like Tempo shorts for $14.99---cheap!
I started following the new runner's world program for beginning 1/2 marathoners. It breaks your running speeds into easy, mod, and hard and then gives you a set schedule. It's helping me to do a little more interval training (albeit slow). I figure if nothing else then it will keep me in shape for a couple of fall 5k's----I'd like to get under 30min! Then if I like it, I'll repeat it for Jan. and if not then I'll stick with MfM! So I have pilates and a 30min walk on tap for today! Have a great one all!:dance3:

Morning everyone. Major fly by for me. Running late and out of time!! :car:

What do we do with the hay? We currently have 8 cows (mostly meat some mommies) and we feed them through the fall/winter/spring months. We also sell some which this year is a commodity apparently. They are saying $4+ a bale out of the barn. :scared: Dang fuel prices!!

Amykab: Love the fireplace pic. I find it very artisitic and visually pleasing!! :flower3:

Tracey: I am currently following the Runners World plan that they had out a few months back. It keeps your miles up in the 25-30 range and then you have 4 weeks to train for your event instead of 12-14 like most plans. I always loved the MFM plan but I am finding this one easier to work with. I have 19 foot miles this week and will miss my last 4 due to haying.

Everyone else: Good morning, not time, rush, rush, rush. Got to get some actual work done before I get to the manual labor part of my day. I have on a pot of baked beans and just made whole wheat muffins with field strawberries on my 15 minute break. Talk about time management.

I did get my 7 in yesterday. It was 85 degrees and I slowed it down a lot to a 10:45 average pace but I am still not disappointed with that. It was one of those days when I had to tell myself to just keep moving my feet. I know we all have those days!! Makes for a long run though. I would be doing 4 today with hill sprints. I will do my hill sprints but leave the 4 off in lieu of loading hay bales and unloading into the barn. We are filling up fast. On the up side of things, I get to attend the softball tourney tomorrow. We should finish up haying tonight around 8 p.m., up and on the road by 5:30ish to be at the tourney for 7:15 warmups and 8:00 game. Another long day!!

Have a great one Lean Meaners, stay cool, eat well and, um, prosper!!
