Bec & Chris - Wishes Wedding 03/01/11 WP/WHR/SCP - Some extra pics and **COMPLETE**

I really need to update my to do list... But I'm so lazy

I started packing yesterday :rolleyes1 Just the welcome bag stuff, and it's almost filled a suitcase... I should probably do a test pack of everything, and make sure it all fits. I'd say I'll be comandeering a few other suitcases under everyone else's names...

I still need to create welcome books with contact numbers and meal reservations, but that can wait until after Christmas...

I love Christmas :lovestruc

My brother made chocolate crackles the other day, and I'm wolfing them down... There goes my chocolate diet, I'll get back on track in the new year :rotfl:

I also need to find a seamstress that I trust, and get in touch with a "real touch" silk flower supplier and get prices for what I want. I feel like I'm leaving that all a bit late.

I also need to send a swatch to my FMIL in CT to match up ties/vests etc. I'm really leaving that a little late...

I also have to post one of my BM's her dress so she can get alterations if they're needed, and I haven't spoken to my friend who I want as a ring in because my MOH can't come... I should really do that too...

lol, this has been a weird post, but it's helped me organise my thoughts a little... :thumbsup2

Sometimes writing out everything can help organize your ideas. Always good to get a jump on packing. We had 8 suitcases divided between DH and I and my parents when we went down for our wedding and we shipped a bunch of boxes too. It is amazing how everything can take up so much space.

:scared1:

All this needs to be done in exactly 2 months  Oh well, looks like once Christmas is out of the way I need to buckle down and get everything sorted! :rolleyes1

My boss' sister is a seamstress, so he's going to put me in touch with her, so I can chat to her about doing my dress. Hopefully she makes me really confident in her ability.

Thats one hell of a to do list! Although you have got me thinking. I think maybe I need to sit down and sort out mine!! Good luck with all of it!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Wishing you all the best, and I hope everyone gets a special surprise under the tree in the morning! :cloud9:

Here's to the new year and getting things checked off your list. Don't worry my list was just as long at this time of year for my March 3 wedding.

Wow, what a to do list!!! I remember when mine was that long...it will all get done, trust me, I was freaking out too but with the help from ur future hubby you'll get it all finished and just in time for your departure. :thumbsup2

*giggle* I'm getting married this year! I don't know if I'm happy about that!! :lmao:

Since posting my to do list, I've posted away all BM dresses, spoken to my frined about being my ring in bridesmaid, and my friend who was going to be my MOH has lent me her veil, so she can still play some part in the wedding, which I'm thrilled with! I have to remember to buy her a big plush Mickey or something while I'm over there. From memory there's lots of good baby stuff over there though.

I still need to send a gold swatch to my FMIL so she can match it for me, I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't do that when I posted the BM dresses, but it will get done. Just hopefully not too late...

We're probably not going to worry about dance lessons, we just need to pick a song though and practice our first dance a bit.

Oh, and because of my bad luck with these things, my external hard drive has crashed. I only use it for storage, but that includes ALL of my digital images, which if I can't get it working again will be the thing I'm most upset about. I'm going to keep at it though and take it to a professional to see what they say. I did email a company about it, and they quoted anywhere between $800-$2400 to restore my files, and there's no way I can justify that. I learned my lesson with my last pen drive, and keep all my wedding stuff on the actual computer. It should be a lesson though about backing up!! Hmmm, maybe I should do that tomorrow...

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! I hope 2011 is full of everything you could hope for and more!

WooHoo! Happy New Year Bec! I have been following along, just lurking lol :rotfl2:

I have just 1 month left to go before we leave and I am in complete and utter denial. Everything is pretty much done, but I am suddenly starting to panic and worry that I will wake up one day and that it will all be a dream.

I am sorry about your drive, :sad2:

I am sure you can tackle your to-do list. Go Bec!:cheer2:

Today I'm back at work after the Christmas break. Trying to ease into the work load though...

so, I'm trying to find a Notary to notarize our marriage license paperwork, and I have to remember to post the swatch to FMIL.

Just looking at Notary fees, it looks like getting these forms done is going to cost us upwards of $150... :scared1: Maybe there's something to be said for just going to the court house while we're in Florida...

Holy Dooley, I only have 6 weeks left of work before we fly out... That can't be right can it???

I'm so behind! My favorite thing last new years was saying I'm getting married this year!

$150??!? that seems insane. I know you can go to banks in America and get them notarized? I don't see why you'd have to pay so much! I hope you found something better. Banks and Pharmacies usually have notaries.

Not here, there are only 2 notarys in my City. Justice's of the Peace are more common here, and they do a lot more then notarys, but these forms specifically ask for a notary, so I suppose that's what I better use... :confused3

Oh weird...well my DH said that Justice of the Peace are sometimes notaries as well..so you might want to call a couple and see? I hope you figure it out!

Hi Bec - I am not sure if I have posted here before (I think I have, but I lose track! lol :confused3)

Anyway....I wanted to ask you who your officiant is. If you happen to be using Rev Kev Knox, I noticed on his web site that Teresa (his wife) is a notary. I'm not sure if you need a US notary or one local to you, but I thought I would mention it. Perhaps they can help?

I hate to even tell you this, but maybe its another option for you. I went to my local UPS store who has a notary on staff and paid $9 ($3 per signature). Maybe there's one near you or near Disney you could go to?

Good luck with your license and all your plans! :)

Leah

Thanks. I just got confirmation that it's $200 to get those 2 forms notarized... Ridiculous!!! I'm going to have to speak to DF about just going to the court house. It seems more logical to me.

I specifically called my local court house to ask who the local notarys were, and was told there were only 2 and given their names and numbers, so I'd say that's it, but I do work with a JP, so when he's back from holidays I will have to ask him about it. Or the alternative is to see how hard it is to become a notary myself, and only charge $50 a form, and undercut them heaps... It won't solve my current problem, but might just teach them a lesson!! lol.

We get to Florida 1week before our wedding so we are just going to the courthouse to get our license. It just seems like the easiest option. I have to say though over the last few days I've done nothing but panic about the whole thing!! I have 150 things running through my mind...do I need anything other than our passports? Do I ned to do anything at home before we go?! Its like we hit 2011 and all the panic set in!! :confused3
