Bec & Chris - Wishes Wedding 03/01/11 WP/WHR/SCP - Some extra pics and **COMPLETE**

Beautiful shoes! Last night we booked flights for our anniversary trip which made me realize today while reading this that we're coming down the day after your wedding. How long are you going to be at WDW after the wedding? We've had some fun meetups with other Disney couples, so maybe a meet could be in the works. Although I know how busy wedding trips are, so if it doesn't work out no worries :goodvibes

We'll be there until the 8th! So it could be on the cards!

Last night I cancelled my existing reservation, and rebooked under the AP discount. Saved $500! I would have liked to have saved more, but I'm happy enough with that.

So now I can update my budget. I'm still heaps over budget though, and I'm not really sure where the money has gone :rotfl: Well, I do know, it's gone in the getting there, having a honeymoon and getting back. Everything else is really quite affordable.

It's because of this that I could have been scammed yesterday. I played my answering machine when I got home and there was a prerecorded message saying that I'd won a 6 night holiday at an all inclusive resort in Cancun. :scared1: and to press 1 to claim. I'd missed half the message because my outgoing message must have still been going when it started playing, so I googled the phrases I had picked up to see if there was a way of getting my prize, only to discover that this is a scam that has been around for at least 2 years :sad2:

Very disappointing, made even more so because I have actually entered into competitions to win cancun holidays, as that's where we're going on our honeymoon. Stupid Scammers, wish I had as much time on my hands as they do...

Just waiting for my 2nd phone planning session - or phone meeting, what ever you want to call it... :confused3

I want to discuss food with my planner again. I think we need to cut something from the budget, so I'm willing to rethink our meals, but I still want it to be that little bit more special then your average wedding meal.

We were going to have an alternate drop (that's really common here in Australia, it's where you pick 2 meals, and they're alternated around the table, that way if you don't like what you end up with, you have the option of swapping with someone - it's so common here, that I don't think I've ever been to a wedding that didn't do this... :confused3) one meal was going to be the lobster tail and beef filet, and the other was going to be chicken and jumbo shrimp, but I started thinking that the people who got the chicken might feel a little left out...

So I'm going to talk to Michelle, and let her know that I'd like something a little cheaper then what we originally had, but made that little bit more special with the quintessential Disney touch, and see what she can suggest.

Also, we're at the 90 day mark, which means our minimum amount is due any day now :scared1: I am not looking forward to parting with all that money! :lmao:

BAH! Why did Day Light Savings finish in Florida without any one telling me!?!?!?! :lmao:

Turns out I have to wait up until 1am to talk to Michelle, not 12am... I'm not a morning person, but even I think that perhaps it's time to switch to making these calls in the morning... :rotfl:

Note to self - Remember this for next time!!!

I dont know how you Aussie girls do it! I'd probably be snoozing on the phone call by accident. :lmao: I hope you work your dinner out, let me know what you go with, Im really interested to see what she reccomends! Oh and parting with that minimum is so sad! I dont know what Im gonna do when its my turn  On the bright side that means your that much closer to your day! SOOOO EXCITING!!

You can do it!! Stay awake, stay awake!!:cheer2:

I'm sure you can save some money on the food and still have a wonderful meal, we left half the food as we were all too full.

We ended up with a custom menu and it turned up cheaper than the steak and lobster entree. We tasted the steak and lobster one and it was nice, but we liked our menu way better.

Don't be afraid to ask about other alternatives with dishes you know and love around WDW, you might be surprised!

And about the first payment, I was actually excited about it LOL, but then again I just want to get the financial part over and done with so I can relax and enjoy! Once it goes through you'll feel much better about it.

We are about done paying for everything and it is a great feeling

Yeah, I'd like to be done paying for everything too, but I'm going to miss the nice interest we're collecting on it at the moment.

My dress has finally been shipped! :yay: Now I've just got to wait for it to show up  I'm expecting it early January, but then I'll only have 6 weeks to get alterations done :scared1:

I should probably line someone up now, and find out how long they believe it will take...

They're also sending me a swatch! Finally!! :woohoo: Now I know I wont have to drag my dress around to match colours :lmao:

God I hope it's as good as I remember!

Im sure your gown will be just as wonderful as you thought it would be! I cant wait to see pictures of you in it!

Yay for your dress finally being shipped!! Im sure its going to be as gorgeous as you remember!! Can wait to see the pics!!

I had to pay GST (tax) on my dress when it entered the country (Friday), but that's ok. I've still saved over $1500 buying it from the US instead of locally. :thumbsup2

However when I fixed up the payment I asked for an estimated delivery time, and the lady on the phone kept saying Monday (today) I have a feeling she didn't quite understand what I was asking, but now my hopes are up, and I'm hoping to get that little slip in my mailbox today, telling me that there's a package at the post office for me :goodvibes

I wish she hadn't said Monday, because now if it doesn't come I'll be so disapointed!

On an unrelated note - I went and saw Jack Johnson in concert in Sydney over the weekend. It was amazing! :cloud9:

Oprah was doing whatever it is Oprah does in a nearby section of the Botanic Gardens (must admit, not really a fan :snooty:) and she must have ended her thing with a fireworks display. So while Jack was trying to sing Break Down the fireworks started going off and he said "Just a little thing I put on for you" :lmao: It was really funny. Then he said "I'm not really familiar with Sydney, would that be where Oprah is?" And the whole audience answered "Yes"

The the camera techs who were taking care of the big screens rigged it so you could see Jack on them, but the fireworks were a transparent layer over the top. It was really well done.

It was a bit silly that they only had maybe 10 food stands for a 100,000 person crowd, but it gave us all a good laugh.

All in all, I wouldn't have missed it for the World! And I hope he doesn't take so long to come back again

It's here!! It's here!!!

It's just as beautiful as I remember, it's genuine Maggie Sottero and comes with the certificate. It was supposed to come with a swatch, but I don't see it any where, but the laces will do if I can't find it.

They shipped it inside out, which I thought was a good idea. I can't wait to get in it and work out what needs adjusting and get it all underway!!

:bride: How exciting to have your dress already arrive! It is so great that you were able to save that much by ordering it from the U.S. Sounds like you had a fun weekend leading up to the dress' arrival. The fireworks overlay for the concert even if from Oprah (also not a huge fan) sounds pretty cool.

Yes you will, don't worry! However it's tricky because I don't want Chris seeing me in it, so it might have to wait until I take it to the seamstress. Or when I take it to store at mums place. Either way I'll get it up asap, because I'm dieing (dying??) to get into it again!

I'm so behind on this I think I'm first in line!!! AUGH! So sorry!!! I hit the wrong subscription thing...grrr...
OK on the list of things I have to catch up on :surfweb:...I'll be back...:thumbsup2
