I've just seen that Disney is re-releasing this in the Autumn - just in time for Christmas! It's my favourite Disney film and I've wanted it on DVD for ages! It was always way too expensive on eBay (I've seen copies go for £50!) and we have it on VHS and The Enchanted Christmas on DVD. I will be buying a copy at long last.:goodvibes

oh this is my favourite and I dont have it so I shall be pre ordering thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2

It's only available on blu ray. Not. happy.

I've been waiting for this to be released again for ages, then Becky bought a box set of 100 Disney dvds off ebay last week, so she now has it :)

This is my favourite Disney film too - I do have a copy on DVD but it is a copy of a copy, IYKWIM ;) so I will definitely be looking to get this on Blu Ray - thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2

I love this film.

I bought it last time it was released on DVD but may have a look to see the extra's on this one too. :)

I love this film too. I picked up a copy on ebay a few months back for £20, must have been a lucky find :thumbsup2

I'm going to be patient and wait as a 2-disc DVD is being released in US on November 23rd so I reckon we won't be far behind.

A very clever marketing ploy from Disney but I'm not going to be forced into buying Blu-ray until I have too ~ it cost enough to replace my VHS collection with DVDs! :rotfl:

:rotfl: I know what you mean - I still have my videos but no player! My 72 year old Mum has a blu-ray player, but I'm sure we won't get one for several years. It took me long enough to get CD's instead of records. How I miss that crackling sound before the song started...

Oh I had the DVD bought for me several years ago, by Nathan, but will certainly be buying the Blu-ray to see if it is much clearer :)

I have a blu ray player on my laptop, so I have started buying the combi packs. To me there isn't a huge difference in quality, but maybe that's just me! :confused3

I cannot wait for Beauty and the Beast to come out, it is definitely in my top 5! :goodvibes

I have also heard rumours that Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are going to be released on DVD or blu ray double pack in December- which I am excited for! I have never seen fantasia 2000, and I love the original, so this one will certainly be on my list to Santa! :rotfl:

we've got a blu ray player and a normal one, most films i dont see the difference between the two, but there are a few where you can look at it and see the difference. i think it mainly depends how the film was shot, what kind of tv you've got (if you've got an old tv, its not going to make much difference), and how old the film is.
personally, in theory, i dont see the point in hi-def hand drawn animations, especially the old ones that have been re-released, as its only going to be as good as the person who drew it in the first place
(hope that makes sense, it did in my head, but dont think it came out right!!)
